So are you just like, really bad at the game?

The main use for attack spells as I see them is to trigger all-out attacks.

- Got back to where I was.
- Hifumi, you're my favorite game-obsessed Hifumi in a waifu anime game involving mysteries and gay teenage rivals who never say they're in love with you, out of the two I know of.
- Futaba, I'm only hanging out with you right now because the only other available option, Makoto, requires max charm.
- See, Makoto, Ohya will let me be her pretend boyfriend without max charm!
- Justine and Caroline want to go to Destinyland, but I don't have it available, and I don't know where to find it.
- We go to see Kasumi, and then she accidentally activates her app or whatever and we're in the Metaverse. Who could have ever expected that she would be a party member except for everyone. Although, I'll admit I expected this to not come during the "complete Haru's dad's palace" section of the game.
- Kasumi's Phantom Thief clothes are way too similar in style to Joker's.
- She has a swashbuckler gun? Ehhhhh, everyone else's guns are either something that makes sense for them (Ryuji and a big shotgun) or basically a joke (Haru's grenade launcher). This is a bit random. At least the rapier is on-theme.
- Kasumi, even Ann shows less skin than that. At least in theory. Most of the time, Ann's in a French maid outfit, but you know what I mean.
- Morgana is super blas about finding a mysterious palace whose owner we don't know, and a shadow of a girl who looks exactly like Kasumi.
- I like how after Kasumi texts us, we don't immediately ask who the palace owner was in the nav. Like, I can obviously tell that's a spoiler for later, but with the information we have, there's no way that's not getting asked immediately. And it's annoying because you're obviously not going to ask Kasumi until it becomes plot relevant, but then sometimes the game has the characters actually act smart.
- Takemi, you're lucky I'm into goth girls, or else I'd be mad that you forced me to hang out twice to build enough points to go from level 9 to 10 with you.
- "I used fortune telling to find out your true identity." I can't pretend to know anything about Tarot, but I don't think that's how it works. Although, I enjoy how the other confidants figure it out because they're just smart, and Chihaya has to use magic.
- Goddamn you to Hell, Hifumi, I already need charm 5 for Makoto, now I need knowledge 5 for you.
- Shit, I'm a month behind on starting the Tower confidant, I suck.
- Important update: I changed Futaba to a maid costume.
- King, where can I get that shirt that says NOOBS on it?
- "Where did you learn how to handle a gun?!" Sae, you already know about Iwai, don't you? He's a much more plausible gun trainer than Kid Whose Name I Already Forgot. God, you're bad at your job.
- Got to the last night of the last day before the next part of the game starts.

- Really regretting my decision to teach everyone only the lowest ranking version of their elements in order to conserve SP.
- "But no one came..." I also like Undertale.
- Akechi kills Cognitive Okumura, and the real one will die... in 17 days, during the most dramatic moment possible. Sure, okay.
- "You sick or something?" "Nah, it's just a cold."
- I can't increase Kasumi's confidant above 5, right? She offers to hang out, but it says "5 max" when I check it.
- As I typed that, the game crashed. Thanks, Kasumi.
- Oh my fucking God, I hadn't saved after beating Okumura, and that just cost me the entire boss fight and a week of progress afterward. Fuck you, Kasumi.

The Okumura boss fight was significantly changed in Royal and is far more difficult now, yeah.

I was caught off guard by it and lost my first time against it too.

There's a pretty specific and easy (but unintuitive) counter-strategy you can use if you want though.

Tell me this tactic. I already beat him legitimately and then had a game crash, so I think I'm entitled to this now.

- I obviously understand why Okumura is weak and relies on minions to fight you, unlike all of the other palace rulers, but is there an explanation for why he's the only one to not transform into a monster mode?
- "Attack the slutty-looking woman in red!" I said that every major character would comment on Ann's body at least once, but even I didn't expect it from Haru's dad. I think right now, it's just Sae, Akechi, and Futaba who haven't.
- Heh, I didn't remember Cognitive Haru at all.
- I actually just lost to Okumura. I could not get past his robots that require you to kill all of them at once. They just kept running away after a while and resetting the round, or Okumura would order one to explode, and I ran out of time. I don't remember him being this tough in the original version? I might have to make a persona specifically to deal with his stupid minions.

To be fair, while she wasn't fully realized as a Persona user, she was briefly metaversing around with Morgana when he left the team, right? Maybe that sorta mitigated how much recovery time she needed by spreading the burden out over more time than the others rather than getting hit with all of it at the moment of Awakening?

I guess I'll allow this explanation.

I jaywalked a few times today.

- Pretty far into Okumuda's Palace now, have the first two will seeds. I'll say, this is probably more visually interesting than Kaneshiro's Palace, but there isn't a ton going on that I find super engaging. It's all very removed from Okumuda as a character, I guess? Kaneshiro and Madarame's Palaces are very personal, here it's just tired employees everywhere and steel factories.

- I just realized, are the robots in Okumura's Palace the only non-boss enemies you never get as personas?
- The game froze again right after I beat a glowing strong enemy. Great. This is the second crash associated with Haru in some way. I see what she's doing.

- Oh, I actually can't use the Judgment confidant to power up new personas, well, take back what I said about time travel in last topic, I guess.
- "That's why you kept the details of your family secret at school." There is a 0% chance Haru's family would be unknown at school. Fucking everyone would know.
- Who's the most boring palace owner, Kaneshiro or Okumura? It's definitely one of the two of them.
- Wow, game, inserting Haru into my party for a boss fight, and then not letting me change my party back. Woooooooowwwwwwwww.
- Haru, I've been to Paris, lemme tell you, it's not the magical romantic fantasy city you think it is. Honestly, except for the touristy parts, it's kind of ugly and full of trash. And even some of the touristy parts are also ugly and full of trash.
- What's that, Haru? You want to be in a French maid outfit? Well, if you insist.
- I like how every previous character needed a day to recover after getting their persona, but Haru doesn't just because it would throw off the rate of exploration.
- "Liquid Mercury?" Bro, most mercury is liquid. Like, it's not THAT hard to make it solid, you have to get it to -38.8C, but that's only a tiny fraction of mercury kept for scientific or industrial purposes.
- Futaba, how did you even know this was a will seed? This is your first time encountering one.
- Wait, Okumura is greed? Then what was Kaneshiro, I don't remember.

I'm replaying the game on my NG+ save file.

The game has this *I can return to it at anytime quality* when I have nothing else to do. Impressive indeed.

This game is way too long for me to feel the same. I'll never touch it again once I finish.

- It would be fine to have a space station as your palace if you were an astronaut or a scientist or something, but Okumura is just the CEO of a food company. His palace should be, like, I don't know, either a giant office building or an endless fast food restaurant or something.
- I refuse to believe that anyone would not instantly figure out that this is Haru. Like, the masks and disguises are clearly completely useless, but it's fine because it's all cognitive and doesn't have to make sense in a real world logic kind of way, it just needs to represent that they're vigilantes.
- Everyone criticizes her for the name Beauty Thief, but it's like, guys, your names are like 15% better, give it a break.
- I can't remember how many times I've seen the "rich female character is engaged to a boy she doesn't like by her father" storyline in these anime games. It's a lot, though. Is this even remotely a thing in Japan? It surely cannot be, right?
- I like how when they have to chase Morgana in car mode, they don't even consider that Makoto can summon a motorcycle.
- I refuse to believe that visiting a maid cafe causes you charm to increase. It probably causes it to decrease.
- I like this detail of Mishima hanging out in Akihabara, not far from the maid cafe. No attention is drawn to it at all, that's great. How expensive is it even to visit one of these? Not that I intend to ever, I would be just horrifically embarrassed to be a lone white guy in a Japanese maid cafe.
- Hope Shirt gives +Resist Despair, huh? Sorry, I like Nagito and all, but I don't want to wear his clothes.
- So, we've had a dog, a bear, a cat, and I know in the gacha game, there's an owl. What animal will the next mascot be?
- Ugh, I can't do the next Justine and Caroline quest without visiting the maid cafe first? That's a whole extra night!
- Wow, Kawakami sure folds fast to the "teenage boyfriend" card.

- I cannot believe the game is still even attempting to play coy about Akechi knowing they're the Phantom Thieves, he obviously knows everything from like the first scene he's in.
- God, I forgot about the space factory. I remember this being a lame one, better than the pyramid, but worse than the castle, museum, and bank. Everyone's said this before, but the game really peaks too early with Kamoshida. The pyramid is way too samey, but this isn't a lot better. The bank is, too. I really like "normal world location twisted into a magical dream world dungeon" idea, but the more fantastical ones like an Egyptian pyramid or a space station are a step too far.
- Hm, I feel the maid outfit doesn't quite work as well on Futaba, I'll dress her as a reindeer instead.

- Akechi and Joker bathing together, okay, fujos.
- "This trip will be a prime painting opportunity." What do you plan to paint in LA, Yusuke?
- Chihaya, don't ask Joker if he's into older women, that's illegal. Maybe. I don't know the law in Japan, actually.

- Does the passport control guy in Hawaii actually speak Japanese? ... I guess this is plausible.
- I enjoy Ryuji flipping out at how exciting it is to see the ocean, when he's from Japan, a country where you always within like 100 miles of the ocean.
- I've actually been to Waikiki. This is basically an accurate representation of it, good job.
- Ann, Makoto, you were clearly wearing nothing but your bikinis a second ago, I demand to know where you pulled those cell phones from.
- Yusuke is forced to join us in Hawaii due to a terrible tropical storm making it impossible to land in LA. I can't think of anything less plausible. We don't get storms, and even if we did, you'd just land in San Francisco or something.
- The game crashed my computer just as Haru started talking. Damn you, Haru.

- Instead of Hawaii, Yusuke's school goes to Los Angeles. Poor guy. I've lived here for 37 years, and lemme tell you, there's nothing to see. And why is your school trip at the same time as ours, anyway?
- "Don't I seem like an LA guy? A total gangster?" Ryuji, LA is way more boring than that. It's like 80% suburbs of varying quality, 5% actual city, and 15% mountain roads that connect things.
- Oh God, I just realized this is the arc where Morgana leaves the party because he feels unappreciated. And this is started when everyone compliments Futaba so much just because she's saved the party multiple times. It's incredible that he's still the best mascot character in the series. P6 will have to do pretty poorly to do worse than him when it releases in 2032.
- I have been a teacher. I cannot imagine trusting a 17 year old to watch over and chaperone 16 year olds. They're all equally stupid and irresponsible.

- Wow, I didn't expect Kawakami to call me up on the literal first day of school getting back, in the middle of several story scenes. They really did not intend for you to get to rank 8 of her confidant during summer, huh?

- Game, why are you making me do two paths right after the other? Here's an idea: just have one path so I don't have to spend as much time in Mementos.

- I went through Kaitul three times and didn't find enough stamps to finish this, screw it, I don't care enough to finish these two.

I won't apologize for playing several games in the meantime and letting the topic purge. I also tried out like 8 games I had on my backlog and already purchased on Steam, and dropped most of them after less than ten minutes each. I'm waffling on whether or not to ever play Persona 5 X. I hate gacha as a concept, but everyone is saying it's pretty good.

Last time, I stopped after finishing Futaba's Palace, but before she defeated Medjed for us.

As someone who has seen every single Bond movie at least 5 times, I would like to express how disappointing this and your other posts on the subject are.

Especially the one with Christopher Walken, that one was difficult to sit through because its so bad. Most of the worst Bond films are Moore ones.

Dr. No, Goldfinger, Spy Who Loved Me, Goldeneye, Casino Royale. The rest are all variations of the same thing (these are too), and arent as good, so theyre just skippable.

I dont know if I want realistic Bond or goofier Bond.

As someone with the embarrassing distinction of having seen every single Bond movie, only like 6 are actually worth it.

I kept making fun of other users by making new accounts named similar things to them, then posting nonsense about how stupid I was.

My original account from 1998 got banned (Burpadoodle), and then my next account got banned (Burpcycle), and then I had an account last for a while (KingZapdos), which got banned in 2002. Then I made a new account, Mangara, which is an anagram of Anagram. But Mangara got banned, so I made Anagram. I also had numerous other accounts get banned in between each of those that I don't remember the names of.
