Spy X Family does have some serious drama at times but it is primarily still wholesome comedy and even some of the drama moments have some comic relief in it. Definitely fits the vibe imo.

That's why I called it trolling, it felt like he was intentionally being pedantic despite it being clear what was meant. We can agree to disagree on the rest.

I viewed it more like he was trying to find a way to make his point about how the time periods of new content are the main determinators of what gen something is but didn't really think up a good example. But fair enough. This does show how easy misunderstandings from multiple parties can happen though. I think this argument might not have gone so far if the misunderstanding was cleared up sooner.

I'd say it's a little of both. The biggest problem was that it was a lazy remake and a lot of Gen 8's problems leaked into it too, but the original Diamond and Pearl being mediocre didn't help matters. People cut them a lot of slack for things like adding online and making moves physical/special, but outside of those innovations they were boring games. If Black and White received a similar remake, I don't think it'd be anywhere near as bad just because Black and White would offer a solid foundation to build on.

That is true abut DP, but Gen 4 includes Platinum and HGSS which were positively received while BDSP is much more emblematic of SwSh and Gen 8's issues such as the game being even more unbalanced, removal of options for different ways to play the game, and overall lack of effort.

They keep all of the problems from the originals, so they are still Gen 4 even if they were remade during Gen 8.

They also have added new problems like even worse level scaling, forced party wide EXP, forced affection, and no turn-based contests.

And TC was referring to the reputation and worthiness as a remake as FL81 wrongly assumed he was referring to the region itself. And even then, Puglia is correct that BDSP are technically Gen 8 games.
In pretty much every way, FL81's post was the one that was stupid.

Man I feel like I'm on r/Pokemon with how much people are missing the point. BDSP is hated because it embodied all the lazy development from Gen 8, not because it's based on Sinnoh, which is decently received with Platinum. Even the TC himself is saying he's comparing it to other remakes as an awful remake, not based on the region itself.

Nah, Puglia is right, calling BDSP Gen 4 is stupid. It has much more of Gen 8's design structure and lack of effort whereas Gen 4 Platinum and HGSS are all big improvements. Even the TC thought FL81's point was incorrect.

In the 2001 Supreme Court case R. v. Sharpe, [2001] 1 S.C.R. 45, 2001 SCC 2, the court established a private use exception for the possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). This exception applies to:
* Self-created expressive material: Content created solely by the accused.
So because the AI images were technically self created, he can't be charged with possession. Which is fucking stupid. Canada needs to squash that loophole ASAP.
