Russia has promised to kill Ukraine as a nation and identity, we've seen how they rape, torture, and murder occupied cities/towns that have been reclaimed, they've taken over a nuclear power plant and have handled its security very stupidly and intentionally irresponsibly (which is a threat to pretty much all of Western Europe due to nuclear fallout), they intentionally target civilians through both military attacks and damaging utility infrastructure, and we know that they've stolen a plethora of citizens and sent them into Russia proper for who knows what.

I truly don't understand how anybody could be foolish enough to think appeasing Putin here would somehow end/mitigate the misery of the Ukrainian people. If anything you'd exacerbate it because he knows he has cart blanche to do whatever he wants with the country.

The world already tried appeasing him when he invaded and stole Crimea, thinking it would prevent him wanting more and yet here we are.

The Ukrainian people are fighting because they know they need to, they know what surrender to Russia means, the rest of the world just needs to support their self-defense.

No it doesn't. All Chinese companies are required by their law to turn over data to the government if it requests it. Yes, that could be used for nefarious purposes, however they do not directly serve the CCP any more than any other Chinese company, who are also obligated under the same rules.

You know what other country requires that of their companies? The U.S.

All U.S.-based social media is under the same obligation if law enforcement/the government requests the data. Social media data is not protected from the government at all.

I was mostly remembering back to when he handicapped the Ukrainian army in crimea, I think, by blocking out the starlink network in that region, spiting the U.S. and its interests, even though we give a shit ton of money to him to even launch those satellites.

When I was a kid my family was lazy-theist (church on Sunday and Catholic holidays, but no greater worship or praying outside of that in the household) and in my own personal life I never felt like there was some deity who loved me/gave them a reason to revere/worship them. As I got older and started to learn the logical arguments against it, it just solidified my non-belief.

I guess I'll say that in my mid teenage years I was desperately pleading in prayer, hoping that I was wrong, for some sort of relief of this pain I've had on a daily basis since middle school, obviously no answer was given and no pain was relieved.

The one thing I thank it for as is a 5 & 6 year old "gay lord" was my go-to insult (it was the 90s, calling people gay was a common insult, especially among stupid kids) and I learned that it might violate the commandment of "taking the lord's name in vain", which seemed like an easy commandment to correct myself on. I actually so committed to it that I don't use any common phrases based off religion that many other atheists/anti-theists use "oh my god", "Jesus Christ/Christ" (as an expression of exasperation) "holy shit", "god damnit", etc. My vocabulary naturally evolved without ever incorporating that into my typical vernacular. Now it's weird to me as an anti-theist when I see atheists/anti-theists use those phrases seemingly without thinking about it as they're products of their environment and seem to just accept it.

It's especially ironic that I follow that commandment as an anti-theist more ardently than most theists.

5 & 6 just became irrelevant because the 2 main lead sisters meant to replace Sidney were fired/quit.

7 is going to be its own standalone movie devoid from the accomplishments of 4-6 and they're going to have to scrape some new storyline together after investing so much time into the previous arc.

If Sidney merely being in the movie made it great there would be no criticisms of the main Scream franchise, where she's the focal character.

Entirely wrong. There's training, sure, but also literally thousands of years of genetic manipulation via breeding to make them want to serve. In this specific case, the dogs are also bred with the desire and capacity to run literally hundreds of miles in cold weather. They're more comfortable in the snow than out of it.
