I was thinking of the Stranger Things episode given its recent comparable, Severance 2x08 "Sweet Vitriol". Which I recognize isn't the worst given it was competently filmed/directed/acted but man I hated it.

Dexter series finale is a pretty easy pick, New Blood ending built upon the awfulness, haven't watched the Origins series but we'll have to see how Resurrection one-ups the bad finale streak lol

only one problem here - I'm under the impression the movie will be an adaptation of 2015 Secret Wars, not 1984 Secret Wars. Forget if that was already established or I'm assuming that in my head, but, yeah...

(unless 2015 Secret Wars also had a symbiote suit arc, I haven't read it but I'm under the impression it didn't)

yeah seriously surprised they are bringing back so many original X-Men movie people, but I guess this is the time to do it before that universe is permanently gone. Though also the names being listed here isn't any guarantee of substantial screentime, is it.

Nomination topic feels so slow this year, it felt like maybe this year could've been the year... but I don't have the energy to try to make that happen. so Necron it is. :(

good Daredevil episodes last night (it's nice they gave us two considering the first was a bottle episode, probably wouldn't have been great if it was the only one for the week)

but more importantly I just went on youtube and I see Marvel is teasing some kind of announcement, emphasis on "tease". Livestream been running 30+ minutes and it's just showing chairs with actor names with a new chair/name getting added occasionally.

oh baby. with Barret and Tifa as party member mainstays, "Avalanche Two-Step" (and Tifa charging up her fist for the final punch) was always incredibly satisfying. But that was an "Attack Power/Staggered Time" benefit which really never felt like it helped as much... voted Limit Level Increase since that came in handy more than once.

unironically dangerously possible at this point, lol. especially if Season 3 is just one cour... looks like original series had 16 episodes of Kyoto arc remaining, assuming they can cut that down to 12. Except it still feels like they're inserting filler and dragging things out in the 2023 series. Two-cour Season 3 with Jinchu arc as the second cour (or beginning at some point in the 2nd cour if Kyoto runs long) would be ideal, to begin finally fulfilling the promise of unaired content...

otherwise well, maybe 3rd time will be the charm in another 20-25 years, lol.

Kenshin S2 ended, thought it'd be 24 episodes but only ended up being 23 so the clear finale feeling of the last episode caught me by surprise. Can't believe at the outset I thought we'd get to the proper battles, instead two cours of solid mid. Every week I'd watch and think about posting in here and just never would, just didn't have the same magic as the first season, maybe because this felt like the "eat your vegetables" setup before the real meat of the Aoiya/Ten Swords/Shishio fights. At least in the fall there was Dandadan also on Thursdays so it wasn't as bad, the winter season eps being the only currently-airing show I was watching just highlighted the mid-ness, it's left me wanting to rewatch the original series even more, damn. Well still looking forward to season 3 whenever that happens!!

If that's the bad news, here's a good news update: was talking to a co-worker and the conversation ended up with her asking me what anime I was watching and of course I had to say "Steins;Gate" and after a brief explanation she said she'd watch it. And while I was afraid she wouldn't like it (her "currently watching" were Solo Leveling and Sakomoto Days) it ended up working out, she's liking it! Through episode 18 last time I talked to her. Am debating whether to try and rope her into watching Steins;Gate 0 too or not push my luck here, lol.

Will ideally use this as a springboard to get her to watch more shows I like, gotta build up the recommendation resume before trying to get a Legend of the Galactic Heroes commitment, lol.
