Just a really excellent pack this week. Also serving to highlight just how underwhelming the first three episodes were, frankly.

As much as I hated the "Syril standing around in a haze while people around him are getting killed" clich moment, it made me appreciate it all the more when he saw Andor. Like just thinking about how this guy's having the worst day of his life and then Andor's there, lol. Such catharsis. Also bonus points for having saved Dedra's life (though only we'd know that as the viewer, but still).

Knew as we're getting closer to 0 BBY that Bix would need to leave the show somehow, figuring next week will be 1 BBY so thought it would happen then but it took me by surprise happening now. Kind of anti-climactic but that was one way to do it

I wanted to rewatch Rogue One before season 2 started and never got around to it. I know I should watch it after next week's episodes but I'm going to try to watch it before then... think I'd rather appreciate any movie references while watching the last episodes rather than after-the-fact.

caught up on Andor (through episode 6) and am reallyyyyyy resisting the urge to go back to S1 and see if Cassian got a good look at Syril's face when he had him at gunpoint. Could make things real interesting if he returns to Ghorman and wants to meet the 'inside man'...

Also just need to mention that my favourite character in S2 remains the ISB management guy - I dont know his character's name or the actor's name but he'll always be Qyburn from Game of Thrones to me.

Crazy the difference a day makes, I don't know if anyone flipped their votes but I'll assume not, which would mean a net +10 for CT on a (predominantly) Monday round vs. Sunday? Damn... good effort for FFX forcing OT in any case.

The removal of NELs has actively made the last few seasons worse though. There's nothing more deflating than watching a team fall hopelessly behind and you KNOW they're not gonna come back and survive, so the whole episode feels like a formality. For every Carson & Jack or Steve & Anna Leigh tour de force, you get a dozen Andrea & Malainas.

That's fair, I guess I look at things on the flip side of that, that the NELs feel like wasted episodes. Which I guess it's better to feel like it's wasted after having watched it vs. while you're watching it, but still. I appreciate the definitiveness of knowing there isn't a, frankly unfair, chance of luck keeping you alive.

It would also grind my gears given that it felt like NELs hit teams I would've liked being eliminated wayyy more often than teams I liked.

just finished watching Amazing Race and what's funny is earlier today I had thought how great it was that the non-elimination legs were gone from the show. Swear to God, not sure what prompted that thought but it happened when I was checking the episode schedules for it and Survivor to see when they're ending, and that thought popped into my head. And then that happened... what an awful reversal of fortune but I guess it is a "season of surprises" (gimmicks every episode).

Especially unexpected since the finale is May 15 so I figured it's natural for an elim here and one on May 8 so there's a three-team finale? Can't remember what they did the past season or two, and any memories i have also blur with Amazing Race Canada which I think toyed with a four-team finale recently. Ah well.

With FF7 Remake happening, CT Remake surely is #1 S-E "money printer go brrr" remake option, even more than the rumoured Tactics or FF9 or whatever. Just never thought we'd see the day?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, and Kyle has to make a move at some point, but they could still bump one of Mitch/Star/Mary off tonight and then K&K make their move at 7. Does feel like big moves tend to happen at 7...

was behind on Survivor + Amazing Race and just finished catching up

-strong guy alliance collapsing immediately, really thought things might be different this time! Now the remnants are feeling primed to be picked off by non-"strong" people, will be interesting to see how tonight shakes out

-Han & Holden immediately on my most-disliked team list, like I know there's teamwork and fair play and all that but did they really not think about how they're in 2nd-last place? If the episode wasn't completely pressure-free due to the "must (not) taxi" misread I would've really liked to have seen them eliminated due to that. Also nobody even thinking to flip over their cipher disc thingy, seriously...

WOW the day after they still had availability? Lucky!

Yeah. And not only that but I hadn't thought about the controller compatibility, and was going to buy the pro controller w/ the system but my credit card was declined - and it's never declined (opted to fully pay for bundle now instead of just making a deposit). So asked cashier to re-run w/o controller and card accepted. So that also saved $100+ cdn (though I guess i could've refunded it later but still).

The Karting Gods are looking out for me...

The controllers are expected to work with the somewhat obvious caveat of no C button. If any of the C button stuff seemed appealing to you, you would need a new controller.

I don't know anything about the system and I've avoided looking at the MKWorld direct so not sure where the C button would come into play? Worse case maybe I can map the C button to some other button on this controller, there's more than a few unused buttons.

I was out of town so couldn't preorder at my store (and didn't want to try running the online gauntlet) but luckily my store still had MK bundle available today when I got back so I'm locked in. yay...

Only question I have which I didn't look up before is whether 3rd party controllers that worked w/ Switch would also work with Switch 2 - anybody know? certainly would save a bit of change if so...

Had to doublecheck bracket to be sure and yeah, out of final 16 I think Hades would be my #2. maybe FFX. Tough bracket draw but I'm sure lots of ppl have been or will be going through those in near future...

The eternal dream. I gave up on waiting so just replayed them on PS2 last year but yeah, even just getting a straight re-release without the remaster shine would be something. They're still trapped in IP hell iirc.

Addendum to this: disregarded watching anything new and opted instead to rewatch Goblin Slayer S1 (thank you youtube algorithm for feeding me a clip at perfect moment). Don't care what ppl think, I just love it so much and still did on this repeat viewing.

....and of course it's gotten me thinking maybe I need to rewatch the movie and 2nd season to see if I feel differently cuz man, I really do not have like any good memories of either following their initial viewings.
