13 left, took a little break but I should be on track still.

Do the rest of you watch through these in chronological order or is that just me? It's become a habit, I like watching the gradual evolution of cinema as much as the movies themselves

Miller's Crossing was on the previous organized crime list. I think you could argue O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Ladykillers, Hail, Caesar! and parts of Buster Scruggs count as disorganized crime (and boy those punctuated titles sure are confusing in list form)

M. Emmet Walsh has at least 3 appearances, he's got a bit part in Raising Arizona

Damn, 7 Coen brothers movies? This list is gonna get all metaphysical and shit

The Nic Cage thing is sort of a long-term idea, a gauntlet list might not work depending on how slow I go. I think Raising Arizona will be the first time he actually appears in these topics, but if he starts showing up a bunch in future lists it might get redundant. And I certainly wouldn't blame Inviso for throwing some of his classics in the "so bad it's good" category!

Glad I finally got around to these classics, the more I see from Kurosawa the more I think he's one of the best.

I never use letterboxd so I'm surprised Harakiri is the highest-rated movie on there. I guess it just has the perfect balance of accessibility and artistry

Fitzcarraldo is great, I think Cobra Verde is also right up there as far as the Kinski collaborations go. His documentaries are bangers too, maybe even more consistently than his fictional films.

You know I was gonna call you out for the low ranking but I can't really argue too much with this reasoning
Admittedly it's a little inconsistent with my own taste, war films are usually right up my alley and I don't shy away from graphic content or gritty realism. I don't know if I can explain why Battle of Algiers bummed me out so much but The Ascent didn't.

That said, I do think this list is pretty high quality and the films that I'm ranking in the mid-twenties are still like 7/10 in the grand

I didn't know Pennsylvania was a commonwealth until they happened to turn into a commonwealth a number of years ago and now they want to be known as a commonwealth. Are they a state or a commonwealth? I respect either one but obviously they don't because they were a state all the way and then all of a sudden they made a turn and became a commonwealth
