I see no reason to use a guide for anything other than the gifts, at least initially. I do have that if you want it, but you'll have to carefully avoid any potential character spoilers in the table of contents. I keep it open in a tab so I can avoid ever seeing the top of the page.

Switch or PC? Haven't had any issues on the latter. Technically I've yet to even close the game.

PC. I had the crashes on the demo, too.

Have had two crashes in an hour during battles, very annoying.

- Futaba sure takes it well when she learns that her inner self dresses like a sexy pharaoh. I'm not going to judge her for that, to be honest. If I could get away with 'sexy pharaoh,' I think I'd try it at least once.
- Heheh, this moment where she opens the closet expecting you to steal her heart immediately, then realizes she's being silly, and quietly walks back into it and closes the door is cute.
- I've been playing the game lately with the sound off so I can listen to podcasts, but I turned it back on for the end of the palace, and man, Futaba does not sound like I remember her sounding.
- I forgot that the boss fight is against a cognitive version of Futaba's mother as a giant flying sphinx. Man, Futaba is... a little messed up.
- Yusuke, you only JUST realized that it's her mother? Makoto truly is only smart by comparison to her friends.
- Futaba finally defeats her false memories and seizes control of her own cognition, and immediately summons an alien spaceship to shoot tentacles down and grab and spread her legs, then dress her in a skintight bodysuit. I'm just saying, this is further evidence that she's messed up.
- "Change direction! Aim the tip at her!" Further evidence.
- "Adjust vertical alignment!" I see, I see.
- "You need to deal with the despair! It's bad to just ignore it!" Futaba, I played all three Danganronpas and the two spinoffs, don't worry, I'm an expert at battling despair.
- What is the cultural logic of slapping someone with a fan to remove their status effects? That's obviously a weird Japanese thing.
- "Being dead isn't easy," Morgana, that's the easiest thing in the world, it takes literally less effort than being in a coma, because at least a coma patient has to breathe. The only thing easier is never existing in the first place.
- It seriously took like 25 minutes to be able to use the ballista a second time, and I spent that entire time spamming spells at Futaba's mother from a distance, which took forever and did very mild damage. Did I do something wrong to not summon it faster? That cannot have been the intended way to progress this fight.
- Wow, finishing this with Joker shooting one bullet at her is... not a very climatic ending, sorry.
- I'm sorry, is this supposed to be the 'real' Futaba's mother's spirit, or just another cognitive duplicate? Because it doesn't make sense either way, but for two completely different reasons.
- "Futaba herself was the Treasure!" No, Morgana, the real treasure was the friends we made al--oh god the meme actually is 100% correct here, it's not even a meme now.
- Gotta have this anime cutscene where everyone runs for their lives, and Ann's boobs jiggle constantly. Girl cannot catch a break.
- Wait, why DOES Makoto need to drive the Morgana car? He could already drive without her.
- I can't remember, is Tae a required confidant? Because obviously she shows up here.
- "It's too late for us to find another hacker!" Ann, I did Futaba's palace on the first two days available, you have nearly a month. It's going to take hours of gameplay to progress to the next actual story section even if I fast-forward most of the dialogue.

Jesus Christ, how do I either use this ballista or get another ballista? I used it once, and I can't seem to use it again, and I can't do any real damage without it.

The calling card itself says Sloth after all.

Shes not even really slothful. I dont think she maps onto any of the seven deadly sins.

Ahhhh okay, but like, she's not really that wrathful.

I also just checked, and Madarame gives you "vanity" seeds. Vanity isn't a sin. I guess that corresponds to pride? Envy would have made sense, envying his more talented students.

- I refuse to believe that anyone has ever used one of Ann's skill slots on Ambient Aid.
- I notice that all of the safe rooms are just Futaba's room. The safe rooms were different real world locations in the other palaces, right?
- See, here's a difference between the other palaces and this one. There's a random statue of Anubis in one of these rooms that's JUST Anubis, no fantastical elements. In Kamoshida's Palace, that would have been a headless teenage girl's torso, in Madarame's, there'd be some kind of painting-based personalization, in Kaneshiro's, it would be made of yen or something. Here? It's just Anubis. I suppose you can argue that this represents that Futaba isn't as messed up as the others, but c'mon, it's just so boring visually.
- Always annoying when you buy an item for a character, then find a superior one in the next dungeon.
- I think there might actually be too many "random battle bonus" things. Like, I'm fighting the boss to the last will seed, things are SLIGHTLY dicey, and suddenly I'm getting the "press Z to do a billion damage cutscene" and "You regain 50 SP for no reason" bonuses.
- Wait, I see how Kamoshida gives you the lust seeds, and Kaneshiro the greed ones, but Futaba's associated with WRATH? That's bullshit.
- This hieroglyph of Futaba next to her mother, I know Futaba is short, but if this was correct, her mother would be like seven feet tall, I'm just saying.
- Got to the part where you're told to get into Futaba's room to continue.

- Got a little further into the pyramid, I think I'm about halfway through? I've gotta say, this is by far the most samey dungeon I've seen. Every area is visually the same thing. I think it's shot down below the bank, even, because at least the bank had some visual diversity. It's possible the pyramid will climb up if it has a more unique area soon, but if it's still more dusty tombs lined with hieroglyphs, probably not.

- Has there ever been a desert location in an RPG that is like... not also Ancient Egypt? Like just magical Arabia or whatever, with no Ancient Egypt at all.
- Did some of the palace. Why does this palace not have safe rooms, and just has routes to the open air to save? What a strange decision.

Because raw fish goes bad pretty fast. You eat at a place open in the morning by the docks you can have some of the best sushi you've ever had for dirt cheap.

- I just noticed how the hieroglyphs on the door to enter the pyramid look like computer-y characters. That's a cute touch, I like it.
- I like how no one has seen the real Futaba except for Morgana, so they don't actually recognize her shadow. That's fun.
- Shadow Futaba *is* better than Shadow Kaneshiro, but Kamoshida remains the best. It's unfortunate that he set the bar so high, so early.
- See, I'm fine with Futaba's room having some Power Rangers figurines and junk food, but there is no way in 2016 a computer hacker person has newspaper pages scattered around.
- I like how when Ann complains that Ryuji was staring at her sweaty boobs, he responds only with "Shut up! It was a great view!" Did Makoto ever comment about Ann being hot? I can't remember. I'm *sure* Futaba is going to say something at some point, I can just feel it. Haru and Kasumi, I don't know, but I won't be surprised.
- The hideout was moved from the walkway to the cafe? Why was it ever at the walkway in the first place, if we had access to the cafe all along?
- Gun shop guy, dare I ask why you sell "Papal Robes" and "Hard Corsets?" Like, the weapons I can maybe understand.
- I like the detail that because the other Palace owners were social enough to exit their homes, their palaces could look like normal places, but Futaba is a shut-in, so she imagines an ancient pyramid and an empty desert. That's a cool idea. +10 points for the pyramid idea.

- Why is sushi so expensive? The cost of the materials has to be like nothing. I ate sushi yesterday, and it was 6 dollars for 2 pieces of salmon nigiri, just absurd.
- I refuse to believe that at this point, Makoto isn't smart enough to check if Futaba has a palace at Sojiro's house.
- Hm, we have to investigate Sojiro's house, but we aren't invited. If only one of us was a cat who could easily sneak inside and be forgotten about even if caught.
- I like Makoto's quirk of being uncomfortable when things are spooky and needing to grab your arm for support, even if that's standard anime serious/tough girl stuff.
- It's *Ryuji* who thinks to check if she has a palace? Outrageous.
- I wonder if they'll ever have a fakeout party member. Like you encounter a teenager in P6 who has a unique face and model, and they just don't join your party.
- "Now we know that Futaba bugged the first floor of the cafe. Let's talk about this on the second floor of the cafe. Surely she wouldn't bug *two* rooms."
- I remember when I played P4 the first time, I thought that at some point you'd have to go into the TV world not from Junes, and it would be some kind of 'you're in a desperate unknown location and must survive' thing, and then that just doesn't ever happen.
- I like how in this anime cutscene, everyone is in a desert, so the girls have near-transparent shirts and you can see their bras, and the boys just don't at all.
- I remember this pyramid. It's such an odd choice for a location, it's like the exact opposite of Futaba's very techy nature. Like, I think I said this in my first playthrough topic, she should have had some kind of cyberpunk Tron-esque computer world palace. Instead, it's a pyramid, which could not be more unrelated to everything she is about... actually, that's technically untrue. Did anyone else ever see X-Men: Apocalypse? That movie was horrible. At the start, though, Apocalypse is in Ancient Egypt, and some of his slaves activate a magical pyramid device to give him more power, and it lights up to look like a microchip. It's a cool effect that makes no sense.
- Anyway, if I remember correctly, there are five more dungeons in the base game: Futaba's pyramid, Haru's dad's... space factory?, Sae's casino, Shido's boat, and then some kind of magical final dungeon thing. I assume at least one more dungeon is added in Royal, I know that people complained that Kasumi joins way too late for it to matter. I remember thinking Sae's casino is the most interesting visually.
- It's funny how the two women who have palaces are both goodhearted and you have to infiltrate them for good reasons, and then all of the men are just completely irredeemable.

- God, I don't remember the last time I heard the term 'hacktivist' used.
- Is there any benefit to hanging out with someone you already have maxed?
- "How about we put dumplings inside of a sandwich!" Ann: Culinary Genius.
- I like this scene where Joker gives Akechi his glasses to fool some fangirls, that's fun.
- I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I like the concept of Futaba being skilled at computers, a thing that are definitely only in the real world and that you never see in the magical Metaverse that is made of collective unconsciousness stuff, except when it's replicating the real world. Like, it's a distinct skill and theme from Yusuke's artistry, which fits in both the real world and the Metaverse.
- I like the idea of Futaba trying to understand how stealing hearts works by watching the news, and figuring out that calling cards are an important part of the process, but having no way to intuit anything more than that, so her entire plan is baffling to Morgana because he actually knows what he's talking about.
- 32 hours into the game, and I'm just coming up on the Futaba section. I have no idea if I'm being really slow or not.

I like how the woman on the right is like woah dude get away from me.

- Yusuke, Ohya, Mishima, I'm not going to lie to you, I'm fast-forwarding through all of your confidant dialogue and looking up the answers to do this as fast as possible. And Mishima, I'm only even prioritizing your confidant because I want the bonus of giving full experience to unused party members.
- I like how the loading screen during the fireworks festival has people on the train dressed in festival clothes, nice attention to detail.
- Yusuke chews out some girls for hitting on him while wearing yukatas, and they just leave without a word. Honestly, that's the correct response, can we have them join the Phantom Thieves instead of him?
- I actually do believe that Yusuke would know the name of an obscure Egyptian deity. Good work, game, he's the only person in the party who could plausibly know that. It reminds me of Danganronpa V3, where someone says "gofer," and Maki instantly says "Gofer?! Gofer wood is what Noah's ark was made out of in the Bible!" and there is just no way she knows that, I just don't believe it at all.
- Alternatively, I am not 100% sure I believe Ryuji can correctly use "plummet" in a sentence, but I will allow it just this once.

In Japan, you either have to take entrance exams to get into college (extremely difficult, requires months of studying for hours every day) or you can get a recommendation from your school/principal and not have to take exams. It makes a big difference!

Fun fact: in Metaphor, every single confidant has social stat requirements to level them up. I think it's a good mechanic, personally. Sad you seem to have nothing but negative things to say.

I want to play Metaphor, but there are like 100 games on my backlog above it, and that's before you account for upcoming games I want to play first.

Makoto's s.link is a lot about her actually. It's about her figuring out how to help people without being a robot (hence the famous "beep boop" meme) and figuring out how to make friends with people who aren't uptight/super strict people like her sister

Sure, but most of the actual action is about a world that she's not really part of, as opposed to Ann's world being the modeling her confidant is about.
