People don't actually like turn based RPGs as much as they think they do, they just like playing expensive digital Bop It.

The moment a game has a bunch of parries and QTEs that completely undermine all the RPG systems, its fans start saying stuff like "I'm a long time hardcore turn based JRPG fan, but actually every game should be like this forever and I hate turn based games."

If it doesnt have action commands like Paper Mario, it needs to be snappy like FFX

The good
Campaign was p good
Multiplayer was p good when everything goes accordingly (full lobby, equally skill teams, good map, etc)
My first real online gaming
The Needle Rifle is a great weapon, shoulda been a staple
Grenade Launcher was also a great weapon, with the added bonus that many people didn't use it, so it was available often
Speed Halo at the end

The bad
Not sure if Marty did the soundtrack, but it's definitely the weakest of the Bungie era
Multiplayer was kinda infuriating when dumb shit happened ( 2+ people leave mid match, oversized maps even with full lobby
Forge World felt like 90% of the maps played
Armor Lock nearly broke the game. Active Camo was p bad too on big maps

The Ugly
This was the first and only time 343 actually did something great (trying to fix Reach)

I enjoyed my time with it. Unfortunately, looking at the MCC version, it doesn't seem like they learned their lesson.

HK is like 90% excellent bosses, but 3-4 bring it down. RAR wouldn't be so bad if the attacks didn't overlap. It's literally the final thing I need to beat. Pantheon of Hallownest is cake compared to RAR

Yeah there are cooler summons in the other FFs, but it was cool to summon one and continue the fight as them, with their own abilities, stats, etc.

Longest without break = probably 5-6 hours

Can't begin to imagine what parents are going through. Some kids are all right, but there are some who I feel would malfunction if they weren't tied to a phone or tablet 24/7
