Battletech was built as a game first and a minis second... it's wholly expected that you use proxys.

It's the dream game for people who have 3D printers.

Yeah I looked on Etsy and see a lot of 3D printed ones, but those don't really have high clarity and definition either it seems.

I want a smaller game to get into. I was thinking about Kill Team but with all the crap with Games Workshop and their constant increase of crap you have to buy to stay current with their games make me drop out of 40k.

I was looking at Marvel Crisis Protocol, but it seems to watered down for my tastes. Iran good on them for making something accessible, but I am looking for something with more bite.

I did X-wing for a bit the small number of ships with lite combat is fun at times but I find myself wanting to play it only once every 4 months the or so.

Battletech seems fun gameplay wise, it's cheap s that's nice for them making accessible as well. But honestly the quality of the minis turn me off. I mean I know it's a trade off for it being cheap, but I just wish there were a premium option or something because the minis are very very bad and I can't see myself not being slightly disappointed while painting them. I mean I know I shouldn't expect 40k mini quality, but I mean still....

I have stopped playing games as much as I used to because of MTX and the common "Put out shit on release date because we can patch it later" and other issues.

I don't touch mobile games at all anymore since almost all have some form of "Energy" system that cost money or uses a system that without money makes any kind of meaningful progress impossible to do in any sort of decent time frame.

You have company's that abuse peoples wallets like EA, Games Workshop, and others to the point that poorer people can't even get into the ecosystem at times.

You have companies that are so controlling you can't really do anything to show your enjoyment with their products (Nintendo and Games Workshop come to mind)

You have companies that don't want you to do anything that results in someone else making money in regards to their products, best example is John Deer and their tractors being made to be almost impossible to work on yourself or independent mechanics

And the hundreds of thousands of companies with the designed obsolescence of their products. I mean hell I heard an ad on the radio for AC repair that said "ACs last about ten years now" And I am like, I have three AC units on our ranch that are 40 years old and other than needing the basic maintenance on them, we never had an issue with them. But I do know that a few coworkers with houses that aren't that old has had to have theirs replaced.

This world is just a sad place now, so much greed and no honor

I've heard her reported as being bi before. That could be outdated information, or it could be your source assuming that she's settled into only being attracted to women because she's married (which isn't really how bisexuality works). *Shrug*

Or the author of the article doesn't view Bi as a real thing that some people think for reasons that are beyond me.

Recently found out he disowned his daughter because she is Bi, which made her lead to become being homeless. Thankfully she is married to a Canadian woman now.

But that really bothers me to be honest and I don't think I can watch his movies anymore because of it.

Tried it both ways, prefer to start with a warm oven now.

I should have mentioned I get super thick bacon so this way is best for my preference. I get the nature rancher or something like that. Super thick bacon. I am talking 4 slices in a 12 oz pack. So that's pretty much the only way I get nice crispy bacon that's fully cooked and isn't burnt on the outside.

tell the people working you want to buy less than that, theyll pack it up at most grocery stores that have a deli service counter for you, its no biggie

They will only do that with pork and steak. Apparently they package chicken in the mornings and only ground meat in the morning and then clean the grinder for the rest of the day.

Thats why most of the protein I eat is beef ribs, steak, or pork chops.

My cooking tip is, if you fry or bake bacon always start with the bacon in a cold pan/oven. The gradual heat increase will make the fat render better and your get a crisper bacon that isn't over cooked

IIRC, I think each episode had two parts to it, so maybe that's why it felt like more. Either way, I'm glad it was like that. Best to leave on a high note then overstay your welcome.

Yeah I am like that with most shows, but with Mr Bean mostly being skit comedy I felt it could probably been okay with a few more episodes.

But I feel you, there's a few shows that I feel were definitely devalued because it went on. My unpopular opinions being DBZ would have been better as a whole if it ended after Frieza and Break Bad to me lost a lot of overall points because of the last season and should have ended with Gus.

Thanks @wolfy42 . Problem is I live in an apartment complex that has a strict no grills or bbqs with 10 feet of a building and I live in an apartment that would make it only possible to do it in the middle of the parking lot :(

I do cook a lot of Asian dishes, Korean style beef ribs since those come in packages of 4 which is enough for me with some rice(have one of those fancy rice cookers) and I make a lot of stir fries.

I used to eat a lot of salmon too since those almost always come portioned for one person but since covid I been getting my groceries from Amazon and whole foods and I don't trust other people picking my seafood.

Freeze a steak and don't freeze another. mix them up, cook them at the same time and you will see a difference. Same thing with pork chicken and lots of other things. Since almost all shrimp thats sold is frozen unless you live on the coast, go to a coast and buy fresh shrimp, it will blow you away.

If your grocery store has a meat counter, you can usually ask for specific quantities of the meat you want. If all the packaged stuff is too big, ask for a smaller package.

Can do that with steaks and some pork items, all others are whats out there is what you get.

Everything either comes in big portions or recipes yield 8 or so portions.

And things like Salad is completely out of the question since I think those bagged salads are gross and making my own will have me eating salad for the next 6 meals.

Things like Chicken? most of of the time my store I go to the smallest package is like 8 thighs and left over chicken isn't the best IMO.

I think the problem that that series had, granted not a huge problem, is the first movie was a lot of action with a small enough sampling of scify to please most people, then they turned the scify up to 11. This was in a time when most blockbuster action movies went so full of scify. Honestly I think it would have done a lot better if released now.

Although I am thankful for the employer taking some/most/all of the cost of insurance, I hate the system since we have to rely on the company/plans the company takes.

As an example, I work for a company that works closely with the state and federal government and as such have decent benefits, however with the good insurance company we have, for reasons no one can explain to me, I can only get reoccurring prescriptions at CVS. I can get one offs anywhere I want, but my needed medications I have to get from CVS which annoys me more than it probably should.

Soft scrambled. Two tsp of butter in a non stick pan. Eggs beaten till they are very very runny. Heat butter over medium until the butter is white and foamy. Pour eggs in with the butter, sprinkle white pepper and salt then with a spatula move the eggs constantly. Once about 80% of them are no longer solid, take off heat and continue to mix the eggs until rest is cooked and still moist.

If you do this, you should end up with small curds that are very soft, buttery, and a little wet. Fantastic over toast or just as is.
