You named about a dozen bands, where they're literally hundreds who's 1st or 2nd album is widely accepted as their best.

For every Pink Floyd, there's Guns N Roses, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Bush, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Velvet Underground, Oasis, Nas, Biggie Smalls, Sex Pistols, The Band, The Clash, Run DMC, Van Halen, The Doors, Weezer, The Killers, etc.

Reality is, most bands fizzle out before they even get the chance for the 5th, 6th, or 7th+, album to be their best.

There's plenty more examples, both from 50 years ago or more recent.

Think of the bands that are considered All time greats. Other than the two you mentioned, who else really had their 7-10+ album be widely considered their best?

Theres obviously exemptions to the rule, but a majority of the time, a bands best album is one of its first 3 or 4.

Hence why I originally said bands tend to make their best music when the WANT to make music, not when theyre contractually obligated to make it.

Yeah but just because their music wouldn't "chart" doesn't mean they would've faded away.

Maybe from the mainstream, but not from making music or performing/touring.

Look at Pearl Jam. Opinion of their music aside, they've been relevant enough to do full stadium tours basically every other year. Selling out 40-50,000 seat ballparks all across America despite not being mainstream relevant in 20 years+.

Shoot, pre-pandemic, Billy Joel was literally selling out Madison Square Garden ONCE A MONTH for 6 straight years (2014-2020), despite not putting a new album out since 1993.

Being mainstream and staying relevant are two totally different things.

Possibly. I also tend to play games that give you individual trophies for beating the game on multiple difficulty levels.

After 40 hours, Im not playing through it again just for one trophy.

The Harry Potter games are great.

I've never seen any of the movies, so I feel like the games would be lost on me.

Really the only reason why I never played them.

I won't lie. One of the reasons that I didn't do a guide for the LEGO Ninjago Movie was because I was burning out on LEGO games, too. I just did one for LEGO Marvel 2, which came out a couple months later.

Then 2019 saw the only recent LEGO Adaptation release: the LEGO Movie 2 game, which was... not all that great.

So we'll have been three years out from the last LEGO Adaptation game when this game drops.

I've played most of the Lego games, going back to the original Star Wars ones on PS3 (only ones I haven't are the Ninjago and Harry Potter ones), and they have sadly gotten progressively worse as they have progressed.

I loved how simple and laid back they were. They were challenging and clever in their puzzles being hard at times, but easy to understand. They were a great way to introduce my kids into gaming.

The charm of them was always their simplicity, and they undid that charm by making the levels and open world maps more and more elaborate as they went.

Last one I really enjoyed was the Jurassic Park one.

Also @CyricZ major props for those Walkthroughs, some of the best on this site.

Pearl Jam feel into the same trap every band that stays together for more than a decade falls into. When you stop making music because you want to, and start making music because you have to, the end result will suffer.

Most of the all time great bands become all time greats because the band ends (through death or breakup) before they get the chance to make forced, contractually obligated, music.

Give me one band out there that their 5th or 6th album is universally considered their best? Most bands peak at album 1-3.

If you wouldn't have been taken a picture or video doing it before everyone had a camera in their pocket, do you really need to share it? It's fine to take more pictures since we have that luxury now, but it's also okay just to have some pictures for yourself. That goes not just for kids, the compulsion that some people have to share EVERYTHING is weird.

Again, I think it's a case by case thing.

Yes, there are people that basically live on social media. Things like posting pictures of their meals, what book they're reading, a moment by moment account of their vacation, etc., but there's also moments from my youth, teenage, and early adult years where I think back and wish I had a digital 12-megapixel camera in my pocket, and had 100 photos of a certain night rather than just the 4-5 we took because we didn't want to waste film (or space on an SD card for you younger people) on pictures that may not come out good.

It's definitely is a tough battle for some people between living in the moment vs document the events to relive them later.

I do not know how old you are, but I think you'll change y our tune as you get older (I'm 43) and the family members in the generations before you start passing away, and you wish you had more pictures of/with them.

I kinda changed my stance on taking a lot of pictures over the past year or so. I lost both of my parents recently, and would give ANYTHING to have more recent pictures of myself with them. You just assume that everyone is going to be around forever, and you'll take more pics "next time".

Now I try to throw as many pictures on my phone as I can. I don't necessarily share them all, but I do share the ones I know my relatives that weren't there would want to see. So I understand your view on "no one needs to see your kid's every movement" but there's also the opposite, where one day you will be longing for the day you can look back at every single moment.

I usually take it on a case by case basis.

There's some that have moved away from home, or have multiple family members living in different parts of the world, and it's easier to put pictures all in one place as opposed to texting 20 different people the same pictures over and over again.

For example, I have 4 different sets of aunts, uncles, and cousins living in Puerto Rico (I'm in NY), and if something cool happens with my kids that I take pictures of, it's easier to put those pictures on Facebook for them to see than send out 12 different text messages with those pictures.
