And that difference is the critical difference that turns what was an ordinary life obstacle into a societal crisis. We're too connected.
I guess.

Like I said, I'm "old" compared to the people that this truly affects, so maybe I just don't see it the same way they do.

I just personally find it easier to control what you see as opposed to back in the day, when seeing the "cool kids" in school openly make fun of you was unavoidable.

There was no "unfollow" or "block" button I could press to avoid the bullies and the cool kids at my school.

If there something on IG that you have an adverse effect to, just unfollow that account.

Sometimes, you need to find your own solutions. There's no one account that every teenager MUST follow. You literally get to pick and choose who's pictures and posts you see.

Instagram, social media in general but IG especially, is a highlight reel, that you're comparing your B roll to.

Nobody going on there to post every errant thought or bad photo
But back when all we had were actual physical cameras, did you frame and hang up all the pictures, or the dozen or so that may you, your friends, and your family look the best?

Again, IG is basically a digital version of the same shit we've been doing for years.

Showing the public the absolute best we have to offer to make us look as cool as possible.

Would you trust teenagers to be mindful and recognize what content would be unhealthy for them?

I made a deliberate decision to never open a Facebook account back in 2007 since I knew I'd stalk people I know, wanting to know everything they're doing with their lives compared to my stagnant life, and would have everyone seeing insane comments I make (and this board barely tolerates me as it is). For "well adjusted" sociable kids, they're going to go on social media and follow what their friends follow and it'll lead to them feeling pressured to live the life each other is living, whether it's having the looks or having X kind of success or experience, basically keeping up with the Jones. On top of that is the attention people will start craving which is also profitable. It's cycle that will tear into their self-esteem where they'll constantly not feel good enough but still feel incentivized to stay on the platform.

But this is a social construct that has been around virtually forever, it's just on a larger scale now.

The desire to be looked at as one of the "cool kids". Listen to the cool music, wear the cool clothes, watch the cool shows. Kids wanting clothes and shoes their parents can't afford, because it'll raise their social status.

Only difference is you're comparing yourself to a few million people, as opposed to the few hundred you went to school with.

It may be because I'm an "old head" and grew up without all of these social media, so I didn't feel the need to "keep up" with what other people are posting.

When it come to all social media sites, you get out of it what you put into it.

You literally control who you follow, so you control what you see.

On FB, I only follow people I've met "in real life". Family, friends, old HS/college people I keep in touch with, etc.

On Twitter, I basically follow Sports beat writers and fantasy football sites.

On IG, the same as FB, save for about a dozen or so people I know "from the internet" (podcasts I listen to, wrestling news sites, etc).

They key to most of these sites it to stay away from the comments section.

So if you just take the book and dont give it back when do they decide you have to pay a replacement fee?

According to their site, 30 days.

Borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing the items they check out before the due date. If they do not, the item will be labeled as overdue and the patron will be notified. Items are declared lost after they have been overdue for 30 days and a replacement fee will be charged to the patron account.

If you owe more than $100, you lose borrowing privileges.

Borrowing privileges will be suspended for cardholders with replacement fees totalling $100 or more. This suspension only applies to borrowing physical materials. Patrons with blocks on physical material borrowing can still use their library cards to access e-books and Library computers.

Hell that's not even the owner or an elite member. That's Chuck Taylor. There's definitely some difference in opinion the vaccine and covid in both rosters.
That was kinda the point I was making. He posted the AEW Vaccination policy for the Rochester show (which is more the venue policy than the company policy) vs the opinion of a employee, and I posted basically the same, but WWE's Vaccination policy (which, again, is actually the venue's policy) vs Jericho's opinion.

This was a very failed attempt at a "gotcha" moment by TC.

I don't understand the point you're trying to make?

You're using a statement from the owner of a company and the opinion of quite possibly the least important announcer of another company as some sort of "proof" of each company's stance on vaccination?

Why not use the statement WWE made prior to the Smackdown show at MSG vs Chris Jericho's (someone that's actually part of AEW corporate) opinion on Covid and vaccinations? You'll basically get the exact opposite reactions.

I'm already almost worth a Mil so why the hell would I value something I already have over limitless hot chick poon?

Also, to the people who think online dating is a downgrade to Instagram...not really. You probably are getting cucked by the algorhythm because you don't get enough matches or you swipe right on too many ugly chicks so the app will give you pretty much whatever. If you delete and restart your app and every chick matches and replies to you, the algorhythm will match you with more attractive (determined by how many matches and their response rate) gals.

You go to any major city full of hot chicks and boost and get decent enough matches and set your age ranges to the younger range, you should be swiping right on chicks that are wannabe Insta model level and if you go to places like NYC, Miami, or LA where a majority of Insta models actually reside, you should see plenty on the apps.
That's great and all, and financially I'm (most likely) ahead of where you are (and I'm not saying it to brag, but I assume I'm much older an much further along in my portfolio than you are), but for the ones here that aren't looking to "swipe" anyone in Tinder, the money is the easy answer.

1 mil ain't even that much money.

It buys you a modest house in most of the US, most high end cars are like 100-200k+, and vacations are hella expensive as well.

And a lot of guys only want the shiny car and big house so they can fuck a bunch of chicks anyways.

If you want the money because you're than lazy and just don't want to work, you can live like a peasant and retire early, if you're ok living in the middle of nowhere or going to a 3rd world country to retire, but for this, a little bit of passive income is all that's needed, not even 1M.

You won't be able to retire like a "king" in just about any 1st world country with only a Mill spend.

Being able to fuck any girl from Tinder probably could be leveraged to make you rich anyway. Build a literal harem. You could probably be one of the richest dating coaches in the world once it becomes established you can fuck any chick on dating apps 100% of the time.

It would need to be $10M in order for me to change it up. 10M is enough to where you're now officially rich, rich enough to retire in a mansion with a nice car and afford traveling and partying my ass off, and it's not very hard to leverage this lifestyle in order to easily attract hot women anyways, so yeah.
$1 Million may not be "a lot" if it's the only money you plan on making for your entire life.

But $1 million on top of what you already make is life changing money.

Just thinking of it for myself. I'd pay off my mortgage in full, allowing me to invest the $1700 mortgage payment I'm making now into something that will bear a better return. Even something as simple as using it to by a 2nd home to rent for profit.

Taking a million and pissing it away may not be worth it, but using it wisely could give you the kind of wealth that can afford you the money AND the ability to cast a much wider net in the dating pool.
