Wait, was it the temperature or the spice she was complaining about being too hot?

No justification, of course, just curious.

https://www.who.int/news-room/events/detail/2021/11/19/default-calendar/world-toilet-day-19-november-2021-valuing-toilets

Each year, World Toilet Day on 19 November highlights the importance of sanitation and hygiene in driving improvements in public health, gender equality, education, economic development and environmental protection. This years theme is Valuing Toilets.

Do you care about toilets? According to the latest WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP) report, progress on sanitation and hygiene is badly off track. For the 3.6 billion people currently without safely managed sanitation, its clear there will be no sustainable future without toilets. Governments must work four times faster and ensure toilets for all by 2030.

WHO and UNICEF are calling on government and their partners to urgently transform sanitation for better health, environments, economies and societies in the State of the world's sanitation report. The report sets out ways forward under the SDG 6 Global Acceleration Framework drawing on latest data, evidence and case studies.

Join the global #WorldToiletDay conversation and show the world how much you care about toilets. By visiting the official campaign site, you can learn more about the issues, access prepared materials to help get the message out about the value of toilets, and join the online dialogue.
WHO is a member of UN-Water and the taskforce that organizes World Toilet Day.

https://www.poconorecord.com/story/news/2021/11/15/stroud-area-regional-police-arrest-man-who-shot-them-airsoft-gun/8624174002/

A man aimed what appeared to be a black hand gun at police and pulled the trigger. The bullets were plastic; it was an airsoft gun. Responding officers knew the difference and didn't fire back.

Stroud Area Regional Police officers arrested Daniel Koltun, who is white, with the help of a police dog Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly threatened officers verbally and with the gun. Officer Brandon Bingler distinguished the sound of the gun's CO2 cartridges from that of real gunfire, according to the arrest report.

It's the latest in a string of incidents involving ultra-realistic pellet guns and toy weapons across the Poconos. SARPD arrested a 14-year-old boy who brought a toy gun to Stroudsburg High School in July. In December, PA State Police shot and killed 19-year old Christian Hall, who is Asian, following a standoff in which he held a realistic-looking pellet gun.

Encounters like these have led to the fatal shooting of at least 248 people since 2015, according to a Washington Post database of police shootings nationwide.

Bingler arrived, and Koltun pointed his frying pan toward the officer and threatened to "f--- him up," according to police. He said it again to Anthony Carfi, the second SARPD officer to arrive.
Koltun was "belligerent, uncooperative and threatened physical violence," said police chief Jen Lyon. He began walking south on Lincoln Avenue towards the Walmart parking lot in East Stroudsburg, all the while ignoring commands from Bingler and Carfi to stop walking.

More police arrived, and Koltun maneuvered between parked cars to avoid them. Bingler moved Koltun's possessions, a hand truck and generator he had set down in the parking lot, and the man yelled: "Don't touch my stuff."

He pulled the airsoft gun from his waistband and began firing toward officers. Bingler recognized what it was "immediately," Lyon said. Officers shouted at Koltun to stop firing and drop the gun he was under arrest, they said, and they'd deploy a police dog if he didn't stop.

He didn't stop, and a police dog named Bendix bit him in the upper right arm. Police said the man punched Bendix in the head and torso before they finally took him into custody. He had a knife, police found.

He faces eight felony charges, which include seven counts of aggravated assault to officers and Bendix; four misdemeanors related to resisting arrest and terroristic threats; and two summary offenses for disorderly conduct and soliciting rides. He remains in the Monroe County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

A Chinese food live-streamer says he has been blacklisted from a grill buffet restaurant for eating too much.

The man, known only as Mr Kang, told Hunan TV that he was banned from the Handadi Seafood BBQ Buffet in Changsha city after a series of binges.

He ate 1.5kg of pork trotters during his first visit and 3.5kg to 4kg of prawns on another visit, he said.

Mr Kang said the restaurant is "discriminatory" against people who can eat a lot.

"I can eat a lot - is that a fault?" he said, adding that he didn't waste any of the food.

But the restaurant owner told the same reporter that Mr Kang was putting him out of pocket.

"Every time he comes here, I lose a few hundred yuan," he said.

"Even when he drinks soy milk, he can drink 20 or 30 bottles. When he eats the pork trotters, he consumes the whole tray of them. And for prawns, usually people use tongs to pick them up, he uses a tray to take them all."

He added that he is banning all live-streamers from the restaurant.

The story is trending on Chinese social media and has racked up more than 250 million views on Weibo, with a wide-range of opinions.

Some have said that the restaurant should not be an all-you-can-eat restaurant if they can't afford it, while others felt sorry for the restaurant owner.

Last year the Chinese government started cracking down on eating influencers, and such videos may be banned altogether in the country.

It came after President Xi Jinping called on people to "fight against food waste" amid rising concerns over food shortages.

https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/jordan-prince-outrage-after-gender-iran-goalkeeper-questioned

An Iranian female footballer is receiving widespread support on social media after her gender was questioned by Jordan's Prince Ali bin Hussein.

The Jordan Football Association (JFA), which is headed by Hussein, penned a letter to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on 5 November after they lost 4-2 on penalties to the Islamic Republic in a women's Asia Cup qualifier on 25 September.

In the letter, Hussein requested "a gender verification check" for 32-year-old goalkeeper Zahra Kodai.

Kodai saved two penalties as Iran beat Jordan 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out to qualify for the 2022 Women's Asian Cup for the first time in their history.

Hussein, a former vice-president of FIFA, called it a "very serious issue if true", and demanded that the AFC "please wake up".

"We understand that gender verification is not mandatory for participating players, however, the article reserves the right for AFC to investigate and take appropriate measures if there is doubt on the eligibility of a participating player," Hussein wrote.

The letter then proceeds to mention that the "Iranian Women Football team has a history with gender and doping issues."

Social media users widely condemned Hussein's remarks, with Jordan facing accusations of using the issue of gender to deflect attention from their performance.

Social media users also swarmed Twitter with posts of support for the goalkeeper, with some demanding an official apology from the JFA.

Speaking to the Iranian news agency Khabar Online, Maryam Irandoost, the coach of the Iranian women's team, said the conversation surrounding the goalkeeper's gender was "just an excuse not to accept defeat against Iranian women".

"After the Jordanian team's defeat, it was natural for them to try to calm themselves down under false pretexts," she said.

The Iranian national team has previously been accused of fielding men in the national football team.
In 2014, four players were banned after failing gender tests. And in 2015, eight players were accused of being men, awaiting gender reassignment operations.

https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/nation/2021/11/113_318592.html

A controversy has arisen over whether serving spicy foods as part of children's school lunches at kindergartens attached to elementary schools is in violation of their human rights.

Parents are showing mixed responses over the issue, after a civic group, Political Mamas, filed a complaint on Tuesday with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) against the Ministry of Education.

In Korea, some public kindergartens are attached to public elementary schools to share space and facilities of the schools. In most cases, children at such kindergartens also share the school cafeteria and are served the same food as elementary school students.

The civic group said kindergarteners, aged five to seven, and elementary students aged eight to 13 are served the same foods, regardless of being at different stages of physical development with quite a lot of foods containing spicy seasoning, including kimchi.

"As a result, many children at such kindergartens and some lower graders of elementary schools have difficulty eating meals because they are too spicy. This also leads to indigestion for some children," Jang Ha-na, a member of Political Mamas, said in a statement.

"Children not eating spicy food is not about being picky. Young children have more sensitive taste buds than adults, so they can feel pain. Excessive consumption of such food can also cause problems with their digestive system," Jang said.

The civic group pointed out that private kindergartens and public ones not attached to elementary schools provide meals suitable for young children's taste and nutrition.

"Not being able to eat spicy food is not about preference or bad habits the children have to break. Forcing them to eat such food is nothing but a human rights violation," the group said.

The petition has stirred debate among parents over whether spicy meals are a violation of children's rights.

Lee Ha-na, a mother of a second grader at a public elementary school in Nowon District in Seoul and a six-year-old attending a kindergarten attached to the school, said her children do not usually eat lunch at school. She always prepares snacks for them to eat after school.

"I was a bit surprised when spicy chicken was served at my six-year-old daughter's kindergarten a few days ago. I felt terrible when my daughter said she ate only rice because the other side dishes and soup were too spicy," Lee said.

"Some people say if parents decide to send their children to such kindergartens, it means they have to shoulder such minor problems because the tuition is free. But I don't agree with that. School meals are closely related to our children's rights."

Jo Jung-ran, a mother of a six-year-old boy, also said it is a violation of children's basic rights to prevent them from having a suitable meal by providing too many spicy foods.

"Is it really necessary to feed spicy food to young children in kindergartens or lower grades of elementary school? For upper graders of elementary school, they are used to spicy food because they usually eat the same food as adults anyway, but I don't know why they provide spicy food to young children who have not yet developed their sense of taste," Jo said.

However, some others say it is an overreaction from parents who are "too sensitive."

"It's a little surprising that some people say serving spicy food in schools can be a human rights violation," said Kim Seung-ho, a father of a nine-year-old son attending a public elementary school in Songpa District in southeastern Seoul.

"My son and his friends often say they like spicy food offered as school lunch and they enjoy trying new food. I'm actually satisfied that a variety of foods are being served at the school," Kim said.

A mother of a seven-year-old daughter in Nowon District, who wished to be identified only by her surname Kim, also said those parents who don't want their children to eat spicy food should not send their children to kindergartens attached to schools.

"Parents knew the meals would be provided like this, but they made a decision. It's not possible for a school cafeteria to prepare food separately only for kindergarteners and lower graders of elementary school. It's a matter of choice, and if they make a decision, the parents are responsible for making their children get used to such spicy food," Kim said.

Brass Against, a band known for performing brass versions of rock songs, has issued an apology after its lead singer peed on a fans face at a festival in Daytona Beach last week.

Yes, you read that right. During a set at Welcome to Rockville on Thursday night, singer Sophia Urista pulled down her pants on stage and peed on a (surprisingly willing) fan mid-song. On Friday, the band posted an apology on Twitter, assuring fans that it wasnt a planned stunt.

We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away, the tweet read. Thats not something the rest of us expected, and its not something youll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona.

During the performance, Urista grabbed a bottle of water, and noted that the show would be closed out with her relieving herself on someone in the audience once she drank it all.

Get my man with the can on his head ready, cause were going to bring him onstage and Ima piss in this motherfers mouth, she said.

A few minutes later, the man indeed climbed onto the stage, with an apparently empty can attached to his forehead. He laid down flat on his back on stage, prompting Urista to straddle his head, slide her pants down, and pee into the can or at least, aim for it.

When she finished, the man scooped some of the liquid on stage into his hands and threw it out over the audience. After getting her pants pulled back up, Urista walked back over to him, telling him to get off the stage and calling for security to help her out.

Security, get him the f out of here! she said. Get the f out of here, youre done!

The video is NSFW and not TOS friendly but can be easily found online.
