Maybe Im just cynical and looking too much into things, but one thing that rubs me a bit wrong about this video is that it seems to me that shes purposefully framing her arguments in a way thats designed to protect her from criticism from what she considers to be purists. In CP's defence, she tends to get a ton of mostly-unwarranted hate from people who seem interested in following her just to hate on things she does. The "Purists" are predominantly people who do things like "you once worked with a guy who wasn't 100% in line with my opinions? That means you, all your friends, and all their friends need to be flooded with hate!". I think she's been "cancelled" by this at least twice now. Though I can see where your coming from and can agree that can be an issue. Even if I can get why she might be doing it. |

Shapiro hardly took a stance on anything, just gave a pretty decent summary of academic CRT. Nance took more a media/politician direction by defining it as "just teaching history", and then acting like a smug child without engaging with what Ben said. Bill Maher was pretty reasonable by being specific and saying "If CRT means this, I support it; If it means this, I don't support it." It doesn't matter if Nance looked good in the clip or not. Shapiro gave a textbook definition and Nance tried to continue the actual debate, and Shap completely folded under the slightest push. Bill didn't help by basically saying "If CRT is the conservative boogeyman they're pretending it is, I don't agree with it" because, well duh. But him even pretending there's a debate about what CRT means is being dishonest, because the conservatives literally made that definition up. Bill acting like there's a debate there just gives it legitimacy. |

And finally, I know you didnt watch it, but Bill basically takes Bens side here, even though Ben doesnt provide an argument. The democrats arent taking this argument unless its thrust upon them by conservatives. And they should be. |

Though the worst attack ad in political history was probably attacking Jean Chretiens deformity (for anyone unaware, in 1993 the Progressive Conservative party effectively sent out an attack ad making fun of a deformity Jean Chrtien had due to suffering from Bells Palsy. People were disgusted and Chrtien handily won the next election and was PM for the next decade) At least Trudeau being inexperienced wasnt obviously a bad idea from the start. |

If you ever think a subreddit or website or whatever is supposed to be toxic but you just don't see it, check the comments. Because the main base isn't interested in playing along until they get in trouble. The topic with the chore chart's top comments are all calling the man trash for this even existing, as if it was something other than an obvious joke, and how this means this woman's husband obviously doesn't respect her. The topic about the weird rules for dating my son is saying that instead of a dumb joke to be posted on her Facebook for her other middle aged friends to laugh at, this is "emotional incest" because obviously her son is worthless and the mom was too dense to find a worthwhile man to settle down with. It's also full of TERFs. |

Or a more proportionate voting system than an electoral college and the popular vote. The Popular Vote is dumb and shouldn't be the way to elect people, but that doesn't make the electoral college any less dumb. |

The specs on it are closer to the Xbox 360 (2005) than the PS5. That's why Nintendo is just going all in on "fun gimmick" rather than real gaming. So they can get all the casual people, and the hardcore gamers will still buy it for Zelda or whatever. At least Apple isn't selling a product they released 15 years ago for more than it cost when it released >_> |

Also seemingly contradictory with the recurring theme of all of the other movies (basically being "class inequality" and how the Purge is just a metaphor for screwing over poor people) HagenEx posted... If you bring down the purge, you can't keep making more shitty purge movies. It could always just take place before the last purge. There's plenty of creativity that could go into "no laws, but only for a night", like a bank heist movie or something, but instead its just generic PG13 slasher stuff. |
