If you're a fan of Game Grumps, the LPers where one of them literally shit himself while recording a video and giggled about it, then you might not be emotionally mature enough to rationally think about it. A lot of these girls don't have that frame of reference. They buy fucking body pillows of these two. It's a pretty weird fanbase filled with people who probably aren't emotionally developed as they should be.

I don't know what you expect from people who get taken advantage, but saying "Well they're just fucking stupid" isn't the take here to have, especially when he is specifically targeting people in their early 20's, an age where people are just becoming adults and spoilers: were probably fucking stupid like a lot of people in their early 20's. He's not trying to hunt down people in their 30's. It's literally all people in their early 20's.

First of all, you need to stop acting like he's just a famous musician. He's not. He's a Youtuber as well, and he markets himself on cutesy bullshit and people watch this dude in literally daily videos and become attached. He uses that power dynamic of him being someone famous they have watched hours upon hours upon hours of him and talking about his life in videos and making him laugh. This isn't like a musician people barely know and don't get attached to the actual person--this guy has at least a tens of thousands of hours of him online being himself on top of this.

So yes, he has a power dynamic. People have grown up in their formative years liking him. He has the power to contact any one of them easily through a single click of a button on twitter and he slides in their DMs to talk about how he wants a relationship with them and talking to them for an extended amount of time--VERY different than a one night stand with groupies and shit--and then promptly never speaks to them again. And he does this with at least a dozen cases by now. People who looked up to him and knew him more than "That guy who sang that song I liked."

No, it's not worth cancelling him over. I'm not advocating that. But he's still a piece of shit and if it ruins his career here, it's because he's been a piece of shit to people and they don't want to support that.

For the record, it worked great for me. Stopped to buffer once. The live feed of the Network would stutter for me every few minutes. The archive always worked great though, and the Peacock archive is awful because there are commercial buffers added to everything that you still get even if you have the no commercials plan like me.

That's good to know. I heard more people were upset about the no pause/rewind on live stuff as well.

I think it's important to note that while Joss Whedon is a piece of shit, he was also given this 4 hour monstrosity and then told "Make it shorter and then make it lighter and then make them actually look like they enjoy helping people" after the reception of Batman v. Superman that was happening while this movie was in production.

This seems like a movie that, no matter who you put in charge with that studio exec criteria, would make for a disaster. But I will say that with some characterization, he completely missed the mark like with Flash.

"What is brunch?" is probably the worst, most cringey thing that was added to the Josstice League.

I watched this and I feel like I don't need to watch the 4 hour version now.

However, also worth noting, is that there's more weird stuff they didn't catch. In the Josstice League and Snyder Cut, they have scenes that are identical, but for some reason it feels like the Josstice League had worse takes in it for some reason? Like even the "KAL-EL NO!" scene is a different take of Gal Godot shouting a bad line.

Just completely baffling.

I felt Midsommar felt far more of a mainstream movie than Hereditary did, mostly because all of the plot points are extremely obvious to see and follow standard "people in a foreign place" tropes.

But then I think Midsommar is an insufferable movie that has a brilliant first 15 minutes and last 15 minutes and then 2 hours of absolutely nothing worth watching in the middle.

There's an interview I remember him talking about how since he was a kid he never liked Batman or Superman and thought they were lame and that he loved the more indy titles with people shooting each other and blood and guts and stuff.

I'd put BoP above WW1984, yeah.

WW1984, which I know we've talked a lot about on this board, but it has the distinction of you having to take the entire movie super seriously, which makes all of its glaring issues so much worse. There's so little good going into WW1984, and then to make it absolute nonsense of a plot and somehow make your characters unlikable on top of that? It's a feat. WW1984 is just a complete waste of time that tries to insist to you that it's a great movie when all of the shoddy dialogue and story decisions are screaming at you the whole time that it's so bad.

BoP is a purposefully stupid movie that intends to give you a Deadpool experience, but without nearly any of the charm or creativity. It's exceedingly messy, but at least they never ask you to take it seriously. It's easier to swallow than WW1984 in that regard, and I think it's just reasonably bad in that regard. I'd certainly watch Birds of Prey again before I ever sit down to watch WW1984, and that's not a compliment to BoP either.

Birds of Prey got that stigma of "Only the right wing incels hate this movie because it stars women" thing upon release, so that may be why you don't remember it getting a ton of legitimate hate. And there were a lot of those types that did hate it!

But rest assured, it's an very bad movie with plenty of reason for people to hate it. On many levels it is a real mess.

What is hilarious is that Snyder thinks he's a genius film maker.

Like this asshole can't make a superhero movie in under 2.5 hours, which is still too much, and people want to say this guy is a next level film maker. If I had to guess, Ayer has been on record about how much studio execs made him change the movie and how he had a lot more ideas.

So they probably want him to create a 4 hour horror show. However, I feel like I trust Ayer a lot more to make a decent film without WB exec's notoriously obtrusive fingers in it than I do Zack "I think comic book superheroes suck" Snyder.

You know man, I have actually told people Zoolander 2 is the worst movie I've ever seen in theaters and it almost became the only movie I ever walked out of.

Like Zoolander 2 is so bad and so relentlessly unfunny, and Will Ferrell was the only entertainment element in it.

I think WW84 is worse than original JL because it is actively offensive and insulting to you as you just see the obvious flaws in the movie and logic lapses, on top of it being a shitty movie. And it had to live up to the original WW which was outstanding.

Justice League is just a shitty movie, which is what everyone expected, and it doesn't pretend to be anything other than a boring, overwrought mess of stupidity.

But then you have a four hour disaster film by Snyder incoming and even if this movie ends up being better, you still have to understand this smug asshole wants you to sit there watching it for four hours. Which is just such a terrible ask for any viewer.

You literally should never blame the defense attorney for doing something like that. They have an obligation to defend their client to the best of their ability. It's only when they start to do scum fuckery that you can blame them, but filing to delay a trial of this magnitude only makes sense.

But let's be real. He's super fucked no matter what jury is chosen. What was wild about what I caught is that almost every single person didn't actually want to be on the jury because they were afraid of them and their family being targeted before, during, and after the trial. Which is extremely sad.

Also, I would say odds are low Chauvin is found innocent, but the prosecutor seems like he isn't all that great. The judge seems like he's with it though and won't let any bullshit happen.
