Like red is the literal worst kind of Dem. They fling all of this "Well be satisfied with what you get or else the REPUBLICANS WIN" shit.

Biden literally ran a platform of "I'm not Donald Trump" and won. Nobody questioned him. Nobody gave him hard questions. Nobody expected anything from him when he got elected except for the very, very basic things he stated which he refused to explain with any kind of specifics. Literally said "You'll know what we have planned when we're elected!"

You want to talk about distractions? Biden ran and WON based on a giant distraction of a giant orange manbaby being his competition.

And when it came for Biden and the rest of the Dems to actually deliver, all they have done is back out of most of the promises they DID make and then slip and slide away from delivering on anything people want. So this bullshit of "Don't let the Republicans win by hating on the Dems!" is nonsense. The Dems are doing this to themselves. And if they lose, it's because of them. Not because we weren't kind enough to not talk about how much they are fucking things up for themselves.

People are desperately saying "GIVE THE PEOPLE MORE". Nobody is treating $1400 like it is anything but an "at least this is SOMETHING" kind of measure.

We know politicians are scumbags and assholes and beholden to anything BUT helping the people who vote for them.

We know that UBI is what we should be getting but our government is pathetic.

But saying "well we helped unemployment and small business, but damn shame about the other thing people care about more" is just more nonsense. It's outrageous they can't give people all of that. Stop treating it like it's anything other than fucking outrageous and give it "yeah buts" because it's complete absurdity that people shouldn't accept.

The real issue is that if red truly believed the nonsense he spouted, he wouldn't once make a political joke or enjoy a political joke in these topics, which he frequently does.

So he doesn't buy into it and won't just let people laugh at him being a silly af about it.

I mean, he led with "I know I annoyed you people" when dude, you didn't annoy anyone. If anything, he made people laugh at what a shallow argument he has for why memes and political jokes are dangerous and misleading when he, himself, engages in it. I would argue that we shouldn't have to come up with a solution, and that's on the shoulders of those elected, especially after making such a big deal about it, to have a plan or come up with something by now to fix it.

And I don't really have a reason to believe a plan or solution is even being considered for it. Lest we'd hear something about considering options at the very least aside from giving it a more palletable name for it.

Edit: I need to clarify that I don't expect something to have been done immediately since I agree whatever they do will take time, but it just seems like total inaction on this.

As far as I knew as of a year ago, yes. The reason he was so desperate was because he was engaged twice and the girl called it off both times and I guess he was so afraid he'd be alone again.

Dude had issues and he was very much the stereotypical weak-willed boy. When he introduced himself to me he was hiding behind his wife and waved at me like a scared child. He was nearly sobbing during his vows and she was like "Oh yeah, he's great. We go on adventures. It's a great time." Just didn't care.

She also refused to take his last name, not because she does any art or anything with a career that demanded it, but I suspect it's because she just doesn't want to be linked to him anymore or have to tell the people she sleeps with that she got married.

I ended up at a wedding for my ex's childhood friend. It was the worst wedding I ever went to, and it was a situation where the guy was madly in love with the girl who only agreed to marry him if she could sleep around still.

Thing is, she literally had to get people to babysit him because he would drive her to meet her other lovers and then get super depressed over it. He hated it. Loathed it. But he was desperate enough he decided to keep letting her so it so she would marry him. Worse yet, on their honeymoon she found another boyfriend to sleep with.

You know, foolmo and I don't ever agree on much, but we both seem like we're on the same wavelength about game design stuff.

Korok seeds are the shits though. The rewards are terrible and they lock them behind a mini-game, so you feel obligated to waste your time doing them. If you're going to give people a crappy reward, just have them available on the map and you come across them and get them.

What kind of stuff does IPR reward you with?

Upgrades for literally everything you can upgrade. Weapons, health, potion upgrades, skill tree upgrades, stamina upgrades.

A bunch of funny or interesting lore being told if you find one of the many, many areas that offer it.

Even if you max out any of these upgrades, you can still collect stuff to give you additional bonuses and buffs when you collect more of them.

Not to mention interesting huge battles with mythical creatures (many of which act like huge versions of enemies in the games, but with added attacks, health, etc.).

You never feel like you waste your time going anywhere.

Nintendo's design choices in BotW and Mario Odyssey have hard trained me out of bothering to 100% them. It's very clearly not how they are supposed to be played anymore, unless you are super addicted.

It's not even that with Breath of the Wild. It's "I walked a mile and climbed a giant mountain and this looks cool and all but I also got an apple for my trouble, or a seed to get 1/25 of my way to get a new slot for a sword I'll never use."

At least in Fenyx you get to see cool stuff (arguably cooler) and actually get something useful too.

Like people complained that you can mark your map for actually useful chests and powerups and it takes away from the exploration while at the same time praising BOTW because you wander around aimlessly and do the same tired tower fights that let you open up a chest that has a worthless rusty sword you'll immediately throw away.

Just bizarre comparisons and critiques that just ignore what a disaster of design BOTW has sometimes. I threw away like 90% of shit I found in chests and cursed myself for wasting time engaging in an identical fight over and over to get it. So yeah, good for you. At least you explored something and got to see a cool landscape. But at least in Fenyx you explore something, see a cool landscape, and actually get something useful.

From what I've heard, Fenyx Rising is okay but leaves you thinking "I could've just played BotW instead".

I had a completely miserable time trying to do all the shrines in BotW and left mostly unfulfilled with its extremely shallow gameplay, vast landscape with absolutely nothing in the majority of it, and obnoxious crafting system it leaned so hard into.

Fenyx was a blast from start to finish. Tons of personality. Tons of unique locations with something interesting around every corner. Easier to navigate. Clever and entertaining story. Great humor. The trials (shrine equivalent) are tons of fun. The battle system is easy to learn, hard to master, and always engaging with fun enemy variety. Fights feel like a challenge and special fights are a big deal that make you feel mighty. Protagonist is actually even remotely interesting.

Like there's so much more going on with Fenyx. The only things that BOTW might do better are the major dungeons, and the final boss is better. Otherwise, Fenyx just removes the obnoxious and boring stuff BOTW to make a more enjoyable experience.

If BOTW was a game without a Zelda coat of paint on it, it wouldn't get nearly as much acclaim as it got, let's be real.

Fenyx Rising is more akin to "Kids First BotW" good game but nowhere near comparable.

Genshin Impact couldn't hold my interest more than 2 or 3 before I got sick of it.

Huge disagree there.

Fenyx takes BOTW's formula and just makes it less obnoxious of a grind with a much better combat system that is easy to learn and hard to master, and more engaging story and character interactions. Exploring the map is much easier and enjoyable with a ton more to see around every corner. Like I can't even think of a single thing BOTW does better than Fenyx aside from maybe the 5 dungeons they have being a little more interesting than the major dungeons in Fenyx.
