Orange Army vs Emerald Snax
The Snax busted this one wide open from the get-go, with back to back homers from the 1st and 2nd batters of the game, and a couple more runs before 2 outs were gotten. They tacked on 2 more in the 4th, but the OA would mount a comeback, launching I believe our first instance of back-to-back-TO-BACK homers this season to cut the lead in half. They came within 1 in the 8th inning before giving those runs right back in the 9th to put the game out of reach.

Platypi vs Blowfish
A matchup between the two best offenses in the league certainly lived up to its expectations! 8 homers, including in in-the-park, were hit, but none were more important than the last. Both teams scored multiple times in the first, with the platypi evening it up in the 3rd and taking the lead in the 5th before the Fish took it right back. A couple more back and forths and the PLatypi were down 1 in the bottom of the 9th. The Blowfish brought in their closer for his first appearance this season to face the Platypi's best hitter Beefcake McStevens for the final out, with one man on base...AND HE DOES IT! A 2 run, walkoff homer to give the Platypi the win!

McStevens hit THREE homers, was 5/5. There was only one strikeout between both teams the whole game.

Hedgehogs vs Moonstars
Have a game, Miles Prower. The man has 1 hit in his first 30+ AB, well today he went 2/4 with a home run and a triple. That HR put the hogs ahead in the 3rd inning, but the Moonstars got it back on a sac fly in the 5th. Things were tight until disaster for the Moonstars in the 7th, an inning-ending DP opportunity turned into 3 runs given up when the 2nd baseman flubbed the catch to make the runners safe, followed by a 2 run hit and another hit after that. The Hedgehogs tacked on another in the 8th, and while the Moonstars made a game of it in the 9th, scoring 2 of their own, they couldn't complete the comeback.

As much as it sucks, you have to take into account how a move will affect your future prospects when you think of something like that. I've heard AD decided he was never going to Boston after they traded IT. I think the blazers trading dame somewhere he didn't want to go would be in that vein.

X-men vs Buccaneers
Both pitchers were on point until the 4th inning, when the X-men got a 2 run bomb and another single to take a 3-0 lead, a lead they would never relinquish. They tacked on 1 in the 6th and 1 in the 8th, while the Bucs would log their first and only run in the 8th due to an OF error. RP Wolverine had perhaps his first appearance this season without giving up a run, at the end of the game.

Had maybe my best BG run ever last night, 2 separate occasions I went triple into triple off the reward, one of which was gold garr into gold lil rag lol, and just overall had a super beastly elemental build with ragnaros. I'm at 5k rating!

The sheet has been updated with a new type of ranking: the Star Points ranking!

As you may have noticed on the schedule page, the game assigns a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd star of each game to whoever it deems did the best. I have just finished compiling a list of who has how many points, to make for another fun little race during the season! 1st star is worth 3 pts, 2nd 2, and 3rd 1. And they've been separated between pitcher and hitter (Since hitters have 1/3rd the chances of earning star points due to only starting every 3 games).

I don't get why that beverley foul was a flagrant. He was going around the screen ayton set (which was VERY close to being a moving screen imo if it wasn't already) and that caused the contact with paul. But him mocking paul afterwards while paul was laying there in some amt of pain was yikes.

The pitching is definitely the problem, but you're probably struggling with RISP too, just comparing your team OBP to the # of runs scored, compared to others around the league.

Moose vs Star Wars
I was left in awe at how this game ended. The Moose start off the scoring with a leadoff homer, and we go scoreless from there until the 5th when the Moose add on a sac fly. Then, in the 7th, Star wars gets a solo homer to cut the lead to one, and in the 9th with their backs against the wall, they hit another solo homer to tie it! The moose are unable to end it there so we go to extras, then tragedy strikes. With 2 outs, General Greivous is up to bat with minimum stats due to the pressure of the situation, with a man on 3rd, and manages to not only hit the ball (I rarely see CPUs hit the ball with minimum contact rating) but hits it to the fence to drive in 2 runs. The saddest part though, is that if the outfielder had just jumped, he'd have a great shot to just catch the ball. Instead he just runs to it and it goes right over him, just inexcusable. The moose are then unable to score in the 10th. Just a heartbreaking way to lose a game after largely holding a tremendous offensive team off the board for so long.

So after the first 9 games for everyone, we're just past the halfway point of the season, let's take a look at some stats! The Blowfish are far and away the best team right now with an insane 23 homers and +32 run differential. Star wars and Platypi aren't far behind in offense but their pitching needs to step it up some. Along with the fish, the Bulbasaurs have allowed only 25 earned runs to pace the league.

On the individual side, Kitty kauffman of the platypi and Seinfeld of the fish are head and shoulders above the rest of the league, over 57% OBP. Kauffman, Gina Torrens of the Beewolves, and Juggernaut of the x-men have 3 steals. Hammer Longballo continues to lead the league in homers with 8, while Knuckled Echidna of the Hedgehogs has taken over the lead in RBIs with 13!

Too lazy to do pitchers right now, but eyeballin it, we have Cyclops of the X-men, Hurley Bender of the Beewolves, Calliope Mori of the Bulbasaurs, Tim Spoony-Barger of the Orange Army (1.17 ERA and .52 WHIP!!!), Slip Vanderwink of the Bucs, Elmo Slayer of the Moonstars, all 3 starters from the Blowfish (Peterman is right behind TSB of the OA in ERA/WHIP), Han Solo and Lando of Star Wars, Daddy Cakelegs and Mothza Supreme of the Emerald Snax, Donk Oh of the Platypi, and Shadow Hedgehog of the Hedgehogs all having years ranging from slightly above average to all-time-great-if-they-were-in-MLB type years.

So, back to it! We attempt the fire dungeon again, and make it reasonably far (like 8F) before ultimately succumbing. We try again and get super lucky spawning in the stair room multiple times, but still fall short. Enough is enough, time to use game mechanics! We go and withdraw a bunch of our loot and sell it and buy lots of potions, as well as hone some our equipment, and finally withdraw a teleport wing in case things go south. This time we make it all the way to 10F which is not only a checkpoint (1st I've seen yet), but also contains the memories of the black mage! I'm running knight right now, which I've got to lv2, but I might give white mage a try next, then the black mage.

We attempt to continue but there's a large door blocking our way. Chocobo gives it a couple of solid kicks and...promptly gets teleported out of the dungeon by some mysterious force. We then get treated unexpectedly to another memory sequence, again of Freja. She's telling someone not to go somewhere, presumably to battle, calling both herself and this person an "Oracle" before noticing this person's eyes have gone dark. Assuming that this person has been taken by the darkness, she resolves as the "Oracle of Fire, blessed by Phoenix" to stop this person. We find ourselves back at the entrance to the mines where Freja is there to greet us, telling us about how there are 4 crystals in the town: Fire, water, light, and darkness, and an oracle for each living in the town, all having forgotten who they were. She gives us a fire amulet which should let us venture beyond that door from earlier, so here we go!

...except I stop to eat a burger IRL and while I'm idling the bell rings in town and I freak out! Did I take too long or something? What's happening!? Oh, it's just turning from day to night, sure. Anyway, to the dungeon! As we get past the big door, a black mage looking woman who saw in a cutscene with the clock tower once before appears and tells us to back off, final warning. Nah, that's alright.

Initial impressions of the white mage as we go through pt 2 of this dungeon, it's alright! It's definitely less potent offensively and more squishy than the knight, but the main skill is basically a lesser potion, and the SP recharges a lot faster than the knight's does so it's more frequently usable. I took a look at the black mage skillset and you get the classic fire/thunder/ice trio, so that'll be neat. Part of me wondered if there are elemental weaknesses in the game and that I should've taken the black mage for the ice spell, but decided against it.

We get to about 14F and get full up on items so I decide to get out and go sell some stuff and maybe look into forging stuff, because I still have no idea what any of these icons means. I know you can get seals on equipment but I odn't know if tehse are good or bad. As we go to Freja's, we run into Cid who tells us he's found another clue about airships. We proceed inside and lo and behold, things are starting to come together plotwise. Turns out this person "Glen" from earlier was an inventor who came from far away, and worked with Freja on an airship. Sounds to me like Glen is Cid's gramps he's always on about! Anyway, sure enough, working on fusing stuff allows me to see what all these seals do, so I'll play around a bit here before venturing back into the dungeon, as stuff is starting to hit really hard in there.

No I was expecting it to adapt once each for all of the minion types an amalgadon represents, which for any given game is 5, since in my mind I control 5 different types of minions since amalgadon is all of them.

Ftr I don't have an issue with them limiting the card in this way since as FD said, it would be busted if you could give an amalgam +6/+6 every time, especially with lightfang running around, my issue is that I don't think the wording lines up with how the card works.

Blowfish vs Hedgehogs
This game remained scoreless until the 7th, when the Hedgehogs should've removed their pitcher from fatigue, but instead watched him give up a 2 run homer. The reliever then gave up a grand slam. Meanwhile, the Blowfish actually pitched a perfect game until the 8th inning, when teh Hedgehogs got a couple back. But it wasn't enough. On the plus side, Hedgehogs player Miles Prower finally got his first hit!

So apparently in battlegrounds, having an amalgam of some type doesn't count as all types for the purpose of amalgadon? I had 1 amalgadon already and played another one and it only adapted twice. That's not the interaction I would expect just going off the wording of the text.

Orange Army vs Star Wars
This game was all OA the first half of the game, and all SW the 2nd half. The Orange Army raced out to a 6-0 lead, until two 3-run homers in the 5th and 6th tied the game. Then Star Wars launched another couple of homers and got a few more runs to complete an epic comeback.

X-men vs Moose
The X-men started off with a run in the 1st inning and never looked back. They put up 3 more in the 4th while blanking the Moose until the 6th. The Moose did land several hits to bring the score to within 1 run, but in the 8th the X-men launched 3 homers to put the game out of reach.

Bulbasaurs vs Emerald Snax
A battle between 2 defensive teams saw this game go scoreless until the 7th inning, when all hell broke loose. The Saurs chased Scoopy Banoopy from the game by putting up 4 runs in that inning (including a bases-loaded walk), ruining a good start, while the Snax responded by launching back to back homers and getting a couple more on base, chasing Gawr Gura from the game as well, before GIDP > groundout to end the inning with no further runs. The Bulbasaurs however, would keep the pressure on and the Snax completely folded under it. The Saurs put up 2 more runs in each of the 8th and 9th, a duo of innings in which the defense from the Snax completely collapsed with several stoppable balls and a flubbed 1B catch.

After about an hour and another 10+ runs, I FINALLY beat the lv1 dungeon. That was the worst, it's so rng because most of my runs ended due to missed attacks and getting hit in return. Finally though, we pulled through it. We didn't get a new class but it did unlock the flower shop, which I can't plant flowers from yet because apparently the farm's windmill (and therefore sprinkler system) isn't working. Anyway, back to the main quest!

We head back over to the mines where Shirma and Rafaello (henceforth known as baby) are waiting. Baby throws a fit and urges us to go into the mine, where he promptly BLOWS UP A WALL into the shape of a phoenix, and then somehow gets out of Shirma's grasp and slowwwwly crawls into the mine, while Shirma stands helplessly calling for him instead of going to pick him up. Anyway, we enter the "Fuego Mines" for our first non-memory dungeon! "The Guardian of Flame" hmmm I bet it'll be a phoenix! Dungeon Hero X tells us that if we get multiple types of the same book (Like Fire 3 and Fire 4) and sort our inventory they will be combined into a Fire 7 which is useful!

Sure enough, this is more what I was expecting, an actual different dungeon look! The floor is lava, indeed. This dungeon is definitely tougher than what I've had before, I'm routinely around half health. I get warned about traps that lead to mini-boss rooms and sure enough, I step on one and get teleported to a red flan room. These guys are nasty as they can split up and steal health, but I get a clutch level up that fills my health to full, and luckily beating the main one makes the smaller ones disappear. We run into a big room with a bomb and foolishly decide to head in, and get destroyed as we have no potions. Luckily I still have plenty of equipment in storage.

Buccaneers vs Platypi
The Bucs started off fast with a leadoff homer, but Stoobey Tubrek was able to settle down some, until the 5th inning when he gave up a 2 run homer. The platypi meanwhile grounded into 6 double plays in the game and could not get ANYTHING going until the 7th, when they went back to back deep to give themselves some hope. They also got a man on 3rd with one out but could not capitalize. That hope was promptly crushed next inning by poor defensive effort, as 2 grounders that could have been stopped with dives but instead went right by a lazy defense. That proved costly as with 1 out, the Bucs put the game well out of reach with a grand slam.

Well hey, the platypi did get a couple hits in the 8th to make it 8-4, but still...oh what's this? in the 9th, you had 3 hits in a row culminating in a 3 run homer with 0 outs!! 1 run game, could they do it!? Next batter gets on base as well and we're in the top of the order...*Double play* *fly out*
