Honestly, how game deployment goes nowadays I tend to avoid any day1 buys. There's always bugs at the onset that need to be hammered out, or misc things to buff/nerf because of the relatively short playtest period.

That said, I'm generally against a game massively nerfing itself several months after it's been live, with no difficulty options available.

it's got a pretty good world building , but I consider story to be stuff like "event happens to character" and "villain does thing". Dark Souls is basically just you running around killing things; some of the NPCs get a bit of progression like Solaire and Onionbro.

Contrast this to, say, FF6 which has people rise to power ingame, most of the PCs getting a personal arc, a cataclysm, etc.

free weights are more about efficiency, because of the extra work put on secondary and auxiliary muscles as part of the lift.

Just start light as balls. Use an empty bar or 5 lb dumbells or whatever. If your grip isn't strengthening and you feel there's an actual chance for injury, don't risk it.

The most important things are sticking with it and being proactive with scaling up either the # of reps or the weight as you get stronger.
