Is the Tojo clan considered a net good for Kamurocho? Kiryu could've allowed it to wither away. Through Y0 and Y1 the only morally upright family is Kazama's. I guess the alternative is the Omi Alliance absorbing the region and collecting rents without an opposition?

The absolute state of this shithole country that people in this topic are saying a governor accused by countless women of sexual misconduct should stay in office "to stick it to the right." What in the fuck are you even talking about? How warped and nonsensical are our electoral politics when a politician refusing to resign over workplace harrassment could be a 'victory' or a 'defeat' based on what party they belong to?

Honestly all move tutors in Yakuza should be like Bacchus letting you test it out as soon as the lesson begins. A couple of the Kotoki master's moves in Kiwami are a real pain to get with Imperfect Dragon. Thinking of the one where 4 huge dudes keep railing on you and don't respect the Goddess of Children amulet or anything. And the point of the lesson is basically "doesn't it suck that you don't know the move that would make this easier"

I'm wondering how they keep Kiryu coming back into the action for 5 games when he has a daughter.

I actually kinda assumed he would stay as 4th chairman because it seemed like a ceremonial role in 0. And I just love the trope of "I willed the macguffin/position to the one guy that doesn't crave it and is also unstoppable"

I'm not even sure which one that was. But in general, command Heat Actions you unlock become very abusable. Reusing the same heat action causes a huge damage reduction but eventually you get enough to have an arsenal for an entire boss fight. Elbow shatter, brass knuckles, Dragon Doubleslap, Brawler necksnap, Beast's THREE guard-based crush attacks including the ridiculous shoulder break.

Oh part of why I demolished Nishiki is because he continuously attempted his recovery, and for some reason, Dragon's Kiwami action is absurdly stronger than other Kiwami actions, chewing threw a health bar or more.

The Kiwami system felt REALLY poorly implemented. Especially if you were pwning a boss and they kept spamming it and you didn't have heat recovery items. It's just not interactive.

I went ahead and did all of Majima's quests to perfect Dragon style. However by the end of the game, even on Hard, Kiryu was pretty incredibly OP. The Jingu fight is annoying (tedious, not dangerous) due to all the gunfire. Nishiki's fight ended way too fast for me though. I kept thinking "when did I deal that much damage?" Then at the end Kiryu uses a scripted punch to knock out his entire last health bar.

Ultimately Nishiki felt a little limp as a final antagonist compared to how much build up he receives in the first half of the game. The presentation crafts this phantom lurking in the background who has really cast away everything to gather whatever strength he can; then he up and disappears for a long time as Kiryu goes on a wild goose chase to meet with Kazama.

It was a pretty good reveal that Sera chose Kiryu to be the 4th chairman. But I think it probably has maximum impact to a Japanese player who could read the name inscribed on the will before Kiryu shouts it out.

It's a little jarring to have first played Yakuza 0. I assumed that game was doing legwork for the whole series. But as far as I can remember, Yakuza 1 ties almost every plot thread left open by its prequel. Shimano is dead. Kazama is dead. Nishiki is dead. Sera is dead.

Though it does leave Majima's sworn brother. And, uh, Kuze I suppose? Lol.

My accounting classes use a software called Respondis lockdown browser which is some intrusive spyware that watches you and sends an alert if it thinks your head is too far out of range or your eyes are looking 'past' the screen at notes on the wall or something.

But for an ordinary quiz through Canvas, which can be taken through any browser like FireFox, they can't record you because they never ask for permission through the browser. Canvas can't even know if your hardware is capable of such a thing before beginning the test.

I just took a midterm with this lengthy foreword:

This exam is closed book, closed notes. Canvas tracks every time you leave the browser or minimize the browser. If you leave the exam to lookup an answer, Canvas tracks this. Every click, how long you view a particular question, a time/date stamp for everything is tracked in Canvas. This is so you have the confidence that your classmates are having the same experience you have, and have the same opportunity to perform well on the exam. We have to keep the integrity of your degree as high as possible, so please, do not use notes on the exam.
Now, this may be pretty effective for someone with a single desktop, but what if someone also has a laptop to check notes from or vise versa? Or hell, this was a multiple choice exam and Canvas has a mobile app, so the student could just take it on their phone and not even need a second dedicated computer. The notes can just be on their desktop. You can't bank on slackers not having textbook access either, since even though we technically are using e-texts that are guarded in the university's systems, you can just look up a pdf on "that website" and ctrl + f answers.

Is it weird to think the best moments in the series are when Picard and Wesley are alone together?
Picard's tolerance of Wesley and the pressure being a sort of role model for him after getting his dad killed seems pretty important to Picard's development. Scenes related to that are some of the only times Picard has been flustered so far. The episode "The Bonding" is a great example. The camera right up to their faces as Wesley confesses how long he hated Picard for being able to be the guy that sat in the commanding chair while his father died for his orders. I thought that was great and, in a way, it was the first time I felt like Wesley belonged in the show

The movie comes out today so unless you watched it at midnight and barely got any sleep, I guess you must've gotten up bright and early at 8 AM, sat through the 4 hours, stretched and got back at 2pm to make this topic? Nobody here's gonna know what's in Snyder's cut yet. Everybody knows 'Justice League' as that film Joss Whedon tried to salvage.

In terms of your understanding of Civil War... I really don't know where to begin. For one thing,

Wutobliteration posted...
The story revolved around Capt. America chasing after Bucky and eventually leading them to reunite and confront Zemo at his hideout and fight his super soldiers.
This isn't a script. This isn't a movie. This is the synopsis of a mediocre videogame that didn't pay for writers. You're describing a scenario. A story is a change in character. Why is going after Zemo with Bucky a conflict? Because the new superhero oversight laws, that Iron Man supports, prevents them from acting without oversight.
