Lestrade is a fairly well known character from the stories. Probably the most well known after Holmes and Watson. Most of the Holmes characters referenced in the games play different roles than they did in the stories anyway.

I think it was something along the lines of Rei and Mikotoba just letting Brett have free reign, even knowing what she did. He felt like they should have done something.

The series will never do clear romantic overtones between the lead and the assistant. It just doesn't happen.

I like G1-5, but it has pacing issues like most of the cases do. I don't know why they were so opposed to having a second day in these cases, because this case could've used one.

Also I think the second game will address a lot of your issues with this one. Just about everyone I've seen so far thinks the second game is noticeably better.

van zieks demanding we identify the accomplice is absurd

I mean this is fairly par for the course for the series! You're frequently asked to name accomplices or culprits before you have the evidence to prove their involvement!

It's been a series staple since the first game, although in this case, it seems to be circumstantial evidence more than anything else.

I think Graydon could've avoided all this if he waited a day and simply bought the music box from the forfeited items shelf. It's unlikely the police would've got to it by then. His first music disc was already in police custody so that was a lost cause.

Well, I think losing the first music box disk forced his hand, so he felt like he couldn't risk losing the other one, even if it was likely it wouldn't be found.

lol I just remembered a funny assumption I had. (major 2-5 finale spoilers) .When I was still on the first game I was semi-spoiled that one of the villains in DGS2 would have a high body count so I assumed it was due to Vilen Bolshevik bombing the crystal tower. Not only was it referring to the mastermind behind the Reaper (and the Professor), Bolshevik actually is never relevant at all other than being a minor juror.

I imagine that's a casualty of reducing from three games to two, unfortunately.

Juror 6 said that Sithe's maiden name was Stevens. I noticed that Windibank's autopsy report (and maybe Mason's too) were done by a Dr. Stevens. Is that just a coincidence, or did Sithe just get married?

All of Maya Fey's games, and she's beaten in line count by Ryunosuke after just one game.

Well, this doesn't have Layton/AA included just yet, but yeah, being the protagonist goes a long way! Athena isn't that far behind her with only two games under her belt.

Paratroopa1 posted...
I suspect that GAA's line counts may be a touch inflated just by there being a lot more random interjecting from bit players, especially jury and such. G1-5 is pretty long, but is it really longer than 2-4 and 3-5?

Yeah, I imagine it might get inflated by just how big the cast of the case is. I doubt it will be as long as those two in the time counts.

Yeah, but they never mention it as a factor for it.

Well, Phoenix says at one point he has to accept his responsibility in facilitating the rise of the Dark Age of the Law. We all assume he means the forged evidence thing, but you could add that to the mix.

And I sorta get why DD tried to minimize anything from AJ because they wanted to reestablish good faith with the fanbase again, but I'm glad they walked some of that back in SoJ once they knew the fans were back on board.
