Basic thoughts are that it's a nice fantasy, but there are aspects to being a guy - biological and societal aspects - that make it easier to live freely with less chance of risk, and I don't know if the caveats that women face like menstruation, more direct gendered criticism and pressure to look good all the time would be a better trade-off that could leave me with a better life.

I think I would have been unshackled from a lot of rhetoric, standards and discourse that's caused me a great deal of pain, but in return there would be a whole other set of rhetoric, standards and discourse that affect how people treat me. It's nice to think that being born another gender might have helped me to circumvent aspects of my life that have negatively affected my growth and happiness, but I think that realistically, I would probably face other problems as the other gender that could very well lead to a similar state of being.

I think I would appreciate certain aspects of the other gender more, but they come with caveats that I genuinely feel lucky not to have to go through. It's definitely possible that I would be happier had I been born as the opposite gender, but the grass isn't always greener and I think the struggles that have shaped my life wouldn't be that much different had I been born a woman.

Australia does have problems with investors from China.

As far as I can tell, these homes are being purchased by immigrants fleeing Hong Kong. Who are notably fighting the threat of Chinese occupation at the moment, which would strip their freedom.

To be fair, it's absolutely possible for a great game to have dated controls. Sometimes, a throwback game will refuse to modernize annoying aspects of an aged gameplay system and it impedes the entire product.

I don't think Persona 5 is one of those games.

Granted, I fucking hate the pyramid Palace and I'm not fond of the spaceship palace either. But the gameplay is fine. I never bought into the Squeenix ethos of "turn-based combat is dead", Persona 5 is proof that a classic JRPG system can be just as fun as contemporaries who want to move onto action RPGs with the right coat of paint.

Like I think it's undeniable that Persona 5 is slick, modern and stylish, even compared to prior games like Persona 3 which featured similar game mechanics beforehand. I don't think adhering to a strict JRPG battle system - with new features like the gun system - is a failure of the medium. I think it's a triumph, in that it's such an enjoyable product within a genre that other companies have tried to forcibly kill by moving forward with action RPG elements.

If you see those elements as true progress and turn-based combat as archaic and unenjoyable, then that's a personal preference on your part. Persona 5 is a fantastic game that succeeds at pretty much it sets out to do, and I think it's stupid to lambast it as a failure mired in the past.

My understanding is that trans healthcare for kids consists of puberty blockers - which are easily reversed by not taking them any more - and thorough therapy to give potentially trans kids the space to discuss and work out their gender identity and to allow a mental health professional to judge their behavior to see if it hits certain hallmarks of transgender behavior.

There are multiple ways out of this process if a child has second thoughts, and if they're not transgender, the therapy gives them a space to process the core issue that's driving their behavior. But if they are transgender, they're not allowed to legally transition until they're 18. Volatility is accounted for.

At no point are children given any hormones or put through any surgery. Healthcare for trans youth consists of an easily reversible course of medication and extensive therapy. They can't legally start transitioning until they're 18 or older, and by that time they've been through extensive therapy and their behavior has been judged to match hallmarks of a transgender mindset.

Which part of the process seems underdeveloped? The most common medication used to block puberty has been around since the 70's, and there are multiple types of puberty blockers to offset any side effects that one strain might have on an individual, as medication tends to do sometimes. Therapy depends on the therapist and the individual receiving the therapy, but there are options to choose from to get patients the best standard of care possible.

And the only way to develop better medical practices for the future is to explore our current understanding of medical science and improve upon it as we notice things to improve upon. If any step of this process is underdeveloped, how else are we going to get to a point where it's developed enough to provide better care?

The current model is built upon care, respect and appropriate space. Some kids realise they're not transgender, and the care that's provided still helps them understand the crux of their problems. Others are able to voice their concerns about growing into a body that doesn't feel right, and when they're legally adults they can pursue procedures to give them the life they've always wanted.

What about that is underdeveloped to the point of stopping it all together, and what about it is abusive to the child?

I've gotta say TC, do you have an opinion on Philosophy Tube? She's a youtuber who uploads philosophy videos, it used to be as a way of giving her philosophy degree out for free due to rising tuition fees but she took a more theatrical approach to the series after becoming a professional actor.

I've been watching all of her old videos. I jumped on just before she transitioned and only started watching the rest of her videos after that happened, so it's odd going through her older videos - but I really dig the subject matter and the topics. And I really like the more theatrical videos she started doing later on as well.

The Rock is the worst part of the fast and furious series, his inclusion into the cast not only marks the downfall of the franchise, but his "solo" movie (hobbs and shaw) was not even a F&F movie. There was literally only one car in the movie and it wasn't even modified.

He feels a bit extraneous, but I think that's because he doesn't get along with Vin Diesel. He was good in Fast 5, but he's off doing his own plots or getting injured in the other ones so he and Vin Diesel have the least amount of screentime together.

And the reason Hobbs & Shaw even has the "Fast and the Furious presents:" moniker is because Vin Diesel found out about the studio making the spinoff and got pissed off, and basically mandated that he be attached as executive producer and that they change the name to explicitly be branded as a Fast and the Furious project. Otherwise it would have been called Hobbs & Shaw, and I imagine the Fast and Furious connection would have been downplayed considering the tonal shift to straight up action and less car stuff.

You're going to want to clean it with soap. If you don't clean it properly, bacteria can get in there - and then the next time you take it to plow town, you might give yourself a UTI.

If you're gonna wash it in the shower, make sure you have a way of thoroughly cleaning the inside of it WITH SOAP. idk if it's proper procedure, but if nothing else, clean the outside before you flip it inside out, and then thoroughly clean the grossness off of the inside with soap. When you're done with your shower, wipe the toy with a towel to dry it - if moisture gets stuck in there, I wouldn't rule out bacteria setting up shop - and then when you're satisfied, flip it the right way around and dry the outside.

Sounds like a pain in the ass, but it's much better than fucking a dirty toy and getting piss that stings your dick every time you take a leak.

I haven't used a fleshlight, but I have used similar toys. You're not getting a 1:1 experience, but it's fun and it feels good.

You might as well buy a cheaper toy that's along the same lines, see how that works for you and then decide if you want to upsell to a fleshlight. If you like the cheaper one, you're off to the races. If you're into it but the cheaper one doesn't exactly do it for you, the fleshlight is there for you to try. But I wouldn't expect an experience that feels like the real thing, just a reasonable simulation.

There's a sleeve you can get that has a shallow asshole indent, and you can put a bullet vibrator in it to make the whole toy vibrate. Check out the market for gimmicks like that.

Edit: also, drying wand? I would have thought you could flip it inside out, clean it and then dry it with a soft towel.

He's gonna be in Fast and the Furious 9. It could be his breakout Rock moment.

Remember - Dwayne Johnson was one of the more critically maligned aspects of the Mummy Returns, he starred in direct-to-dvd schlock like the first Scorpion King movie and Doom, and his career is dotted with movies like Escape to Witch Mountain, Journey to the Centre of the Earth and San Andreas. The Rock has been in some schlock, but we remember the good stuff because he's such a charismatic and likeable lead.

Maybe John Cena doesn't have that "it" factor that The Rock has. But the fact is that he's about to be in arguably the biggest action franchise in cinema history, and it could very well be his breakout Rock moment. He's been in some garbage, sure, but he's also got meme appeal and people like him. Maybe not as much as The Rock, but I think F9 is going to be when we find out if he has staying power as an actor.

Also fuck you, Cock Blockers was a better movie than it had any right to be and John Cena was great in it.

I didn't handle the floating islands because they're not touching the ground, so they don't affect the flatness of the area. The shadows kinda bug me, so I might decide to get rid of them later. But for now, I don't mind them so much.

The next task is to go left and repeat the process. It's gonna take a lot of digging, and I'm probably gonna cut crossways instead of digging into the hillside like in these pictures until the segments can be more easily squared up.

I got some screencaps of a larger project I'm doing. It's half of a hillside, and when I've levelled the entire thing, I'll be able to drop the surrounding plains down to sea level.

When I want to cut a chunk out of a hillside, I divide it into segments. In this case, I wanted to start halfway through the hillside and then cut segments out until one side was completely flat. Once that's done, I'll handle the other half - which is a significantly larger job. Doing the smaller half first also made it easier to visualise the greater goal of getting the entire plain down to sea level.



You can see I've dug all the dirt off of the segment I want to level. It's a serious pain in the ass to switch between shovels and pickaxes, so I dig out as much dirt and gravel as I can and then mine through the rock.


That's the view from the front. It's a long plot of land, so I split it in half and handled it as two stone squares.

This is why I've been so anal about comments like "Trump's never gonna get in power again, he's out of power, he's finished, stop giving him attention". On top of him courting the GOP for another presidential bid and his base remaining as established as ever, you can see shit like this happening within the Republican party itself.

Trump has poisoned the party so thoroughly, and his influence has moved it so far to the right, that people like Mitt Romney are getting fucking booed by the party. Hell, dudes like Romney are seen as moderates, branded as RINOs and rejected by the wider party for having the basic human decency not to fall in line with this insanity.

This is exactly why we need to keep a focus on Trump and the Republican party. If we get complacent and go "he's a washed up reality TV star who got impeached twice, there's no way he'll get elected again", the next election will be 2016 all over again. And my fear is that even if Trump was permanently out of the running, there would be a Trump analogue who's just as extreme, just as disingenuous, just as malicious and arguably more competent to take his place, because that's what the GOP wants right now.

If she goes the distance, Marjorie Greene-Taylor could be the next Trump. And that's when the seeds that Trump sowed will be reaped. It's a fucked up compromise, but I think the only way to ride this out is to maintain a Democratic government until Trump dies, the extremists are voted out of the GOP or the Republican party otherwise calms the fuck down. The alternative is a harsher swing into right wing extremism.

Whether you agree with what I have to say is up to you, but I think it's a valuable skill to ask why somebody's pushing the rhetoric they are. Why is this user asserting that Trump has no power, and that talking about him is a fruitless endeavour? Is it a well-intentioned opinion born from naivety, or is it something they're asserting for a reason? And are they saying it casually, or are they using it to shut down a conversation at hand? And moreover - who benefits the most from that assertion becoming commonplace?

I use what I find, and I don't go out of the way because it complicates things. Considering that most of what I get is cobblestone, a majority of my work is done with stone equipment.

I did mine my first iron ore block recently, they show up around sea level. They didn't appear at all in my last world, so I did the whole thing with unenchanted stone equipment. With this one, I might actually get some iron tools to work with.

Thanks. Unless this is like a giant continent that eventually gets cut off by rivers or the sea, I don't think it's feasible that I'll ever truly be done with it. And if there is an end point and I reach it, I'm probably going to be more guilty over the time I've wasted on it than feeling any level of accomplishment. But fuck, it's gonna look cool.

Honestly there's so much more to do than this, this is just busywork. One of my favorite aspects of the game is getting down into the caves and finding all of these abandoned mineshafts with tracks, carts and chests filled with treasure. When I used to play as a kid, I would literally just wander around one of these mineshaft networks and get lost. I'd have no choice but to save and quit underground, and then I'd log on the next time and be even more lost than I was before.
