In tennis, you get a point if you hit your opponent with the ball. Are you allowed to permanently remove them from the match by aiming for the head, joints, and vital organs? After all, if you're returning the tennis balls really fast, you are playing optimally, and the game isn't penalizing you for hitting the opponent.

I'm sure there's some rule about hurting people on purpose. What if you're merely very very careless, and you happen to cause a lot of injuries to the other team?

the real answer is if you aim for a person on purpose and with force, you're probably going to miss or they're going to dodge and you're going to hit it out of bounds and give them a point. it's more risk than reward.

season 4/ the final manga arc is crazy. can't say I found it completely "enjoyable" in a traditional sense but it works.

And a note on Melia: I'm now beginning to think that the original plan was to leave her on Alcamoth way back when and they switched it up at the last minute, because I can't make sense of how they've just silenced her like they have. It's not just that she's irrelevant now, she literally doesn't speak in most cutscenes or has one line, it's so weird. Hopefully she'll come back into it as the fight gets to Alcamoth (the timed quests there lead me to believe that will happen!). Also even poor Sharla has now abandoned her, she went from Team Melia in a cutscene and calling them soulmates in a h2h, to telling Fiora she understands her with Shulk now. Betrayal!

Exactly. It's basically a complete abandonment of one of the more interesting characters in the game. Maybe Future Connected fixes this but I haven't played it.
