If you have an interest in any of the 4, I recommend Showtime's series on Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler and Tommy Hearns (so badly punch drunk they use subtitles) called THE KINGS.

Talks about how police brutality the responding riots in the '60's and the horror's of Reaganomics in the 1980's shaped Leonard, Hearns and Hagler and how U.S. Latin America policy shaped Duran - especially the suspicious death of Panama's president after Reagan took office. And influenced all these men's boxing styles.

Good show all around. Highly recommended.

Again not my scene, but MDR is a good start. I stumbled into people who were into it it but of those into it say, Little Osaka, Venice, Torrance. Also Koreatown.

I ran into about 5 after hours clubs in the nineties. I was just looking for booze but they were selling more. All over in those areas. I hear Filipinotown is another area. I'm a retired clubster and I ran across these places by accident. Do your own homework if you're into the scene. I'm not.

Where do you start when you want to learn a new language? I have really wanted to finish learning Spanish and learn some German, but I have no idea which program/app/site to use if I actually want good results.

I would be willing to pay (a fair amount), but I would really need some feedback on what to use or not use.

For me, total immersion. Find a person of interest, part of town or country where you can go to and just soak everything up.

Have a dictionary, but don't carry it. Look up shit at home. Ask friends (with good grammar - don't ask a Trump for English lessons for example) to correct you. Don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Native English. Fluent Japanese once (probably 75-80% now) - Japanese wife, good Spanish (L.A. native boy), and Italian.

Think in English, but at one point in Japan, I dreamed in Japanese. I only realized it after a month of doing so. Once in a blue moon I'll still have a Japanese dream.
