So I've been watching Odd Taxi. Quirky little show that I've actually really come to enjoy, but I just barely learned that the MC is voiced by Natsuki Hanae who voices Tanjiro from Demon slayer. Holy shit this guy has some fucking range.

Nah, mostly because I just don't have the type of time or schedule that accommodates investing time into hololive. Ive never actually watched any Vtuber live stream. Usually it'll be in bits and chunks on YouTube.

If anything has affected how much anime I watch it'd probably be Manga and LNs/WNs. I used to be a strictly anime only guy, but I've since refined my tastes and also got really impatient with waiting for episodes lol

Also, I managed to give the movie a watch as well. I already knew what to expect since I read the manga, but despite that, like I said previously, it was still fun to watch. Good adaptation and the scenes didn't have any less of impact regardless of the fact that I knew what was coming next.

I really have a hard time distinguishing it from other Shonen as to why it's not as popular as it is. Most of things you can critique Demon Slayer for you can do the same for the other big ones like My Hero or JoJo's but most people don't because it's so much easier to just set that stuff aside and enjoy it for what it is.

It's got a good premise, great pacing, nicely animated, great soundtrack, etc. Yeah, it's pretty clichd, but it's still fun to watch. Aside from a character or two, it's got an enjoyable cast. I mean, what is there to actively dislike aside from Zenitsu?

There's definitely that too. That's why I haven't even bothered starting reading Re:Zero as tempting as it may be. The anime is only like 10 or so volumes behind the anime. Then again, it did take 5 or so years to get to the same point the LNs got to in 3 and that's after cutting content. So the thought still lurks in my mind

Don't get me wrong, I like my animes as much as the next guy. That's why I'm always excited for LNs or Manga I read to someday get anime adaptations so that those who refuse to read can experience there glory as well. Then having it visualized with with some good VAs and an OST is a much appreciated plus as well.

It's funny since you're reasoning for not liking anime with other source materials is the same reason I like em. I like not waiting 5+ years for a series to never finish.

The existence of Manga and LNs won't stop studios from trying to get creative and produce their own original stuff.

I'm not disappointed that it's originally an anime. Moreso that I have to wait for episodes.

Same. I've been following it since the very beginning. It definitely has its highs and lows. It's a slow burner. A reaaaaallll slow burner, but it's finally started cooking. And I honestly don't know how I feel or what I want out of it anymore lol.

Watched the 2nd episode of Higehiro... Which pushed me to binge read the Manga and now I'm caught up with that. Why am I like this? I need more restraint. Also, I'm inspired to be as good of a dude as MC provided he doesn't end up fucking the high school girl

Watched Higehiro. I see two potential directions this show can go and so far it seems to be going the wholesome heartstring tugging way. Hopefully it stays that way instead of going the Usagi Drop Manga route.

Honestly I was legitimately surprised by Redo of Healer's adaptation, it really shows how lax sexual content is these days that you have full on sex scenes that only avoid showing the monster dong.

I'm shocked that the anime went harder than the Manga for healer. Usually it's the anime adaptation that tones it down, but this time they went full send.

Also top right is the Goat slice of life RomCom, HoriMiya. Shits so sweet it's almost depressing

As I mentioned earlier, I can't think of a series that doubled down as hard in that aspect other than Tokyo Ghoul. No adaptation is on their level. Anime took itself literally and tried too hard to live up to its namesake lol.

Good animation, though.

That's usually the only thing 80% of animes have going for them. It's visually appealing. Most shows are super cliche and predictable, but even if you know what's gonna happen the studios can make it fun to watch.

I'm not sure if Tanya is this. Yeah, he/she initially hates it and is turned into a child but he very quickly becomes a prodigy and OP head of the army who revels in what he does.

Still, I think personality wise he still fits the bill. Not a very remorseful person who's main driving force is pure spite and hatred for God. He revels in what he does not because of where he is, more so because he's always enjoyed elevating himself at the expense of others.
