All that matters is electoral votes. Trumpers don't care at all what CA does, because it's a D state. They win in battleground states. Until there's a national popular vote, your vote in CA does not matter.

And no, popular vote does not help 3rd parties as long as there's winner-take-all. A parliamentary system or ranked voting would. I'm in favor of those (especially RCV which does not require any amendments). But until then, it's so easy to just vote 3rd party in these cases.

I am thoroughly unsurprised that somebody who advocates for a genuine fantasy world ideology would also advocate for another one by pretending that the two-party system in the US can simply be broken by voting for a different option instead of needing some form of systemic change that can't be brought about in this way.

I am far from a fan of voting as a tool for change, but it's an incredibly easy and free thing we can do RIGHT NOW. If we can't even do this, then we can never do the systemic change you're talking about.

Remember if you're in a non-battleground state, vote for Jo (or Howie if you really hate the L-word so much) so they can get 5% of the popular vote and thus millions in funding in the next election.

If you refuse to vote 3rd party even when you know your vote for Biden is wasted, the only conclusion is that you specifically want more of the 2-party duopoly, more Trump/Hillary style elections, and thus more Trump winners. You do you, but Trump's blood is definitely on your hands in that case.

Pizzagate for sure out of all these, when it comes to sheer lack of intellect.

Flat Earth is something that is completely rational to believe through your own perception of the world. People believed it for thousands of years. Other ones also do same some form of thinking that could lead to the conspiracy, from just your own perception or basic scientific education.

Pizzagate though is just 100% a fever dream, the final proof that online conspiracy-chasers treat their own worldview like a virtual game, which can and should be manipulated to get that sense of purpose and belonging. There is absolutely no chance that anyone who believe in Pizzagate cares about truth or reason.

For similar reasons, Trump's 4D chess would be up there as well. That one at least has a self-defense wishful thinking aspect to it though. I don't even know what the goal of Pizzagate is.

I normally say FFX for the same reasons as M, but the narrative hasn't aged too well (animations, voice acting) so it wouldn't have the same effect. MGS3 then, for similar reasons. Discovering all the layers in the narrative and gameplay is just too awesome.

Outer Wilds is a good one but I feel like in a year or so I will be able to replay it pretty well. There's also the tiniest glimmer of hope they'll make another one.

Nagito was best in 2-1, I wish they kept his creepy duality for at least another case before making him a sideshow comic relief. Especially since he is clearly more interesting than all the other characters combined. 2-5 was a good use of his character, but he wasn't around for it, so it doesn't make up for the past 3 cases.

Used the Spear for the first time, Achilles aspect. More fun than I expected but still not my fav. Beat Hades pretty easily. But what was really interesting is that I didn't buy anything from a store, saved it all for the titan blood at the end, and I didn't really have any more trouble than my previous runs. I might just avoid the store in general, and use that perk that gives you a % money bonus per floor. Though I do want to beat Charon.

It's just really damn hard to write tight and efficient stories. Like exponentially harder. The difference between AA 1-4 and 1-5 is the most clear example of that. You can clearly feel the massive effort into refining the original cases, that was just missing from 1-5.

Definitely. Enough other people do it for me nowadays so that's good. As long as people don't feel crazy for not loving it.

A lot of people nowadays do say that 2 is massively better than 1 though. That's not true either. It has a couple nice twists to the formula but it's 90% more of the same (which is good if you liked 1, but it seems like even people who do like started to get sick of the formula by the 3rd game).

It's really badly written, has bad graphics and even worse gameplay. People dismiss any negatives of it as taking it too seriously, even though the games are extremely self-serious (much moreso than AA and Zero Escape) and demand 40+ hours of your time. It's nothing like AA in general (I've only played 1), although it's a little like 1-5 in that it's very long and drawn out for no reason.

I loved CrossCode for around 50 hours. One of my favorite games ever.... and then the puzzles just kept getting more and more complicated to the point of exhaustion.

I definitely felt that as some point in the game, but even towards the end they kept it really fresh. Really surprised how much I liked that game. It also benefited hugely from early access like Hades did imo.

But yeah, I probably wouldn't ever play it again knowing how long it is. Kinda sad, but tbh I'm not even gonna replay short games again. There's just too many games.

Draw a chart of the goals the game over time relative to their strength. There's sharp drop off.

I get that you have no problem with it personally, but it's possible to criticize it. I also get that gamers don't understand that it's possible to criticize a game that you like. If you want to read about how the game is perfect for 100+ hours I can link you no less than a dozen articles about that. But I want to post something you haven't read.

And yeah I just hit 25 hours in the game. Absolutely no complaints about the quality or the value of the game right now.

Launcher targeting is really weird. It auto-targets the nearest enemy, so if you want to hit yourself (useful for various reasons) then you have to anticipate what the nearest enemy is and aim away from them so the target lands back on you. I think it's a really fun quirk actually. Ended up liking the weapon way more than I thought because of the launcher.

Right, I'm just not too crazy about the action combat. Wasn't with Bastion either. That's not the game's fault, but I do think if the story was like 2-3x as fast, I wouldn't complain.

Maybe y'all don't remember the first escape, but it is so intense. You're totally focused on getting as good of a build as possible and playing perfectly, and you know you won't make it, but you try anyway since it could happen if everything aligns. And all of it is to see the surface and find your long lost mother. It's a really stark difference to the "add 1 to number" and "see 3 more lines of cryptic dialogue" of the core loop.

Not enough extrinsic motivation is the most classic game design problem of all time. Especially when the first 10 runs have an insane amount of extrinsic motivation and content density. The game is designed to move inch by inch after your first escape. Lots of people complain about that. It's just unbalanced.

I'll keep going until I win with each weapon at least.

The game definitely loses its grip hard after the first clear. Now that I have all the keepsakes, I can pretty much do the same few builds that I know will work, so there's no variety anymore. It feels mindless now but not in a zen way like Necrodancer. Maybe at higher heats it becomes more interesting again. But it sucks to do a whole 30 minute run just to get like 1 minute of plot.

I want to explore some other weapons to freshen things up, but then I'll be giving up my plot progression as I die more. It's a weird balance. Plus the ranged ones are just more fun at first.

3rd clear, exactly 25:59:59 with Chiron bow. Zeus on special and Demeter on cast (I love her cast). Plus had 3 dashes with Ares rifts on dash so there was a lot of damage over time. First time clearing without using a single death defiance.

Makes up for my previous run where I had maybe 2 hits left on the final boss with the shield, and then died because I forgot to put my shield up...

A little vinegar tastes great on like every veggie, so that's not true. Any bit of oil you can add to it makes it better, and salt and spices and such too. So you can make it as low fat as you want. But still just plain old vinegar is great.
