I can confirm this is a terrible idea.

The 1099-K will get reported to us and the AUR department will pick it up. The worst part is that it might not even get picked up right away, and by the time it does you're getting letters about your taxes from 2 years ago with a $5,000 balance due (+ 2 years of penalties and interest). So you have to find a way to pay that while knowing that your 1 year ago taxes are a ticking time bomb waiting to trip the same red flags.

And chances are this will put you in a position where your tax liability at filling will be over $1000 so you'll need to make quarterly payments to estimate and pre-pay your expected taxes if you don't already do that. Most people count on the withholding from their regular employment to cover everything so chances are you don't.

But congrats on the extra source of revenue! From the sounds of it the benefits are going to out weigh the additional hassle.

Universal Health Care will destroy the jobs of Health Insurance employees.

Just like transitioning to Renewable forms of energy will destroy the jobs of Coal Mining employees.

Those are simply true things. Yes some portion of the health insurance industry can transition into supplemental insurance providers for things not covered by the government, but on the whole there will be a great purge.

And honestly that is just something that we have to be okay with as a country. And plans for universal health care need to address the needs of families that will no longer have income when the insurance companies shrivel. Just like plans for renewable energy need to address the needs of families that will no longer have income when the coal mines/plants/etc close. And it's nice to say "we'll just retrain all the miners to be computer programmers", but historically retraining programs like that are not proven effective.

But whatever the plan is, there will inevitably be some people who slip through the cracks or who for some reason aren't able to fully benefit from whatever the transition plan is. And we just have to be okay with that too.

Because the alternative of never switching to renewable energy in a meaningful way or never embracing universal health care? Well that is far worse.

Progress can carry a price. And sometimes you have to ask yourself if the benefit is enough to justify the price. This is not one of those times.

the areas comprise multiple different potential afterlives that souls are sorted into and are all quite visually striking in their own way.

And at least on my server it's been quite easy to farm all the gold by staying on top of the herb markets so that's been fun too <_<

I haven't done all the available dungeons yet (just the ones that quests have sent me into for rep purposes) but they have been solid.

I believe in California it's something like 10% of the normal capacity or 50, whichever is smaller which does seem more reasonable than 10, but again it's not like online services are unreasonable in this day and age. I helped my church pick out a new computer a few months ago specifically to improve our online performance.

i don't think they're talking about different things there. in those arguments, people aren't just saying "the law should be changed," they're saying "it's fine for a judge to not enforce the law if the law is bad." whereas corrik says "no, the judge should always enforce the law to the letter, even if the law is 100% shit."

And this is because that Corrik doesn't realize that this is how legal precedents change. A judge somewhere enforces the law in a different way and provides reasons X, Y and Z and if the appeals process is unable to defeat this new method of interpretation it can become the standard.

Not every matter is going to get a public referendum, and that's honestly for the best. Look at shitty referendums like Brexit.

It's similar in that people are talking about different things and thus talk past each other. Wang is not talking about corruption, he's talking about the pardon power. When Corrik talks about the law he's not talking about whether it's good or bad or if he would write it differently, he's talking about what a judge or someone else enforcing the law should do given that it already exists in the form in which it exists. Whereas other people are talking about whether the law should be changed.

And see I get that, but when the starting point is someone saying "we don't believe X is moral and we believe X should be changed" then for someone else to come in and say "well X exists in its current for therefore X is the law/system/precedent that is in effect" is a woefully inadequate and is at the very least reasonably implying that you support the perceived immoralities.

Well the primary issue I think is that all the mud-dragging occurred before the money came into play so there was no guarantee of a payout when the shit was initially occurring. But you guarantee the money is coming and I would certainly take that scenario.

You'll need to be more specific. I believe there have been multiple lies about "more votes than voters" in a variety of locations that have all been false.

In some cases these claims relay on out of date information as far as number of registered voters. And they don't consider locations that allow same-day-registration. Or other cases where individual precincts were being scrutinized and in cases where there were issues with polling workers successfully "checking in" voters at their precinct there were some discrepancies in the number of people checked in vs the number of votes received. But it was nothing out of the ordinary for an election and in the location in question (detroit) accounted for some 0.2% of the votes city wide. So one out of every 500 people didn't get checked off a list correctly or thereabouts.

Arguing with the same people in this topic is like gutting and cleaning fish in the living room. It's something that others did not necessarily sign up to observe. (But they do have the option to put on blinders and nose plugs)

But, to incorporate red's point about how its bad to just ignore the trolls... You have to imagine this as a scenario where 100 lbs of fish are being dropped off at your house every day, whether you want them or not. And if you DON'T gut and clean them they are just going to sit around and rot. And when that happens the smell of rotting fish will encourage more people to start dropping off fish (for some reason). Soon you will be receiving 200 lbs of fish daily, then 300...

So yeah, better to deal with it than to let it pile up. And certainly no reason to begrudge someone for dealing with it at the source.

If you were Pro Garland and Pro ACB then you should be aware that a shitty thing occurred. Full stop.

Saying "well technically the ACB confirmation went the way it was supposed to" means that you are aware that the Garland nomination did NOT go the way it was supposed to.

It's the combination of the Garland stonewall FOLLOWED by ramming ACB through the process that is the feces.

I know it's fucking difficult, but it is possible to contrast two different events and find a correlation/problem/inconsistency between them and draw a conclusion based upon that.

Hey let's not call it "packing" the courts then.

Let's call it "placeholdering" the courts any time you do dishonest shit to benefit the courts in your favor.

For examples refusing to vote on an opposition nomination and providing a stated reason for your refusal and then ignoring an even more extreme version of that reasoning less half a decade later when it benefits you. That will fall into "placeholdering" the courts.

And "placeholdering" the courts is still a fucking awful thing even if you aren't giving it the "packing" label.

Also it needs to be noted that believing that Russia interfered is not the same thing as believing fraudulent/illegitimate ballots were cast and it does not mean that we think that Trump didn't actually win the 2016 election.

Russia's interference consisted of pushing false information to change the mind of potential voters. Those people whose minds were changed went on to cast legitimate ballots for Donald Trump.

This isn't even a small distinction. This is a big fucking distinction between people unhappy with 2016 and people unhappy with 2020. They aren't even remotely comparable.

After leaving deep sea research you can go back for a difficult dungeon. Ultima Weapon is at the bottom and there is a GF to draw from him. The enemies along the way are pretty difficult as well so it's not for the faint of heart and the save point near the bottom is invisible so you'll want to use Siren's Move/Find ability to find it and save before the boss.
