Yes, the discussion going on was about the article being from Fox News, not the content. Why are you even arguing with me about this?

Personally, your use of the ACAB at the end makes me view your comment differently. That's the problem with a bad slogan.

ACAB. If police were almost murdered trying to stop a planned riot on social media for returning fire at someone who shot at them, they are bad? They are bastards? I mean, maybe the slogan misrepresents your intent, but it is the intent I get when choosing to use that slogan directly after what I posted. Your intent seems to demean the situation as whatever, look at this random scenario! ACAB!

In the video the person who CALLED the cops, the manager of BDubs, is saying look, Im the one that called you, it wasnt about them, listen to me, it wasnt about them.
I did. You said who cares about Lasa's fuse AND a stupid Fox News article about all the things I said when a random video exists that infuriates you.

The problem with the situation in that video, Corrik, is the immediate response of the police to hold people at gunpoint, and lacking the proper training to understand the cries of numerous onlookers that "Those are the wrong people! Put your guns down!" The issue is that the police IMMEDIATELY go into attack mode in a situation where they DO NOT need to do so.
Possibly. The context is cut out. For all we know, he attacked them with a knife and maybe they tussled and disarmed him and there was a scuffl3. Possibly cuz we don't have the context the situation could be a lot different then presented. Where is the context?

If they got there and it was 3 kids sitting there doing nothing at all and the cops just pulled their guns for the giggles then yeah they were wrong. That video lacks context. You are again assuming the random on the internet portrayed an accurate representation of the scenario.

Literally who cares about Lasa having a 1 inch fuse and some stupid Fox News article when this shit is happening. The footage is infuriating, literally mounted up with guns on some teens who were the victims. Not a single good cop telling them to drop their weapons in sight. ACAB
Who cares about assaulting and injuring multiple police officers and attempting to murder them and also looting and destroying stores because police in a cut off video lacking context possibly detained people at gunpoint mistakenly when saying repeatedly to calm down and let us figure out that situation?

You got some weird morals.

not sure why the hell you're trying to go with this argument, especially since you're calling me a hypocrite again in the very next sentence. like, is your attack that i paraphrased you and didn't quote you directly? that's true but i'm not sure why that's something worth attacking.
Attacking your position is insulting you. Debate literally cannot exist in your world.

For the record, I always thought the problem with CNN was less "they're liberal biased" and more "they're fucking stupid". Like, they may lean left (largely because, as has been said many times, reality has a liberal bias), but with MSNBC, you know you're getting straight-up liberal shit. With CNN, it's just inanity designed to cater to the short attention spans of the average American.
Based on the few times I watched the news on tv, I had always thought MSNBC was always the middle ground news agency with CNN left and Fox Right. I must have caught my rare tv watching of news on a good day.

It is weird how many people don't realize there is different political slant stations.

My father was watching CNN and was like bitching and moaning how terrible the news is and reports bullshit about Trump nonstop. I was like why you watching the Clinton News Network then (lol). And he was like what you mean? Literally didn't know Fox existed. He watches both now lol. (That was in 2016).

Cuz I insulted you.

That said, can you even explain where fox is not a "legitimate source"? Their opinions and slant is different however they generally are using the same information CNN slants.

I love to point to the Trump visit to the Saudis where the top headline was on Fox "Trump refuses to bow" and CNN's said "Trump bows after criticizing Obama for bowing".

Like, their biases are hella obvious. Though both articles said that he slightly nodded down to the Saudis, they both were presented different ways.

I present the news. If you wish to refute the source, then you should read the information and provide a source that differs regarding it. Nothing is really refuting this information anywhere. So, what is the point of spending all these posts decrying the source unless you want the liberal brownie points for fighting against conservative media randomly?

Foxnews' actual reporting department is fairly good, I haven't seen the story but as someone who works in the news industry fox has some of the best story reporting in the business. Now what their staff and editors do with raw data is another matter. The best money can buy, you could say.

We cite fox news all the time, you just have to be wary of the headline.

That being said, Foxnews is more biased than CNN ever could be, and they regularly cover 'both sides' in a way that hurts this country. The thing now is Trump is a dumpster fire so CNN is obligated as 'sane' to call it a dumpster fire.
Fox having this as their headline is just as calculated as CNN refusing to report on this at all to my knowledge. Washington times has and some other places, but the choice is telling of course.

The main story is that a person reported to have a gun was being chased by cops. Shot at the cops. The cops returned fire and wounded him. He is still alive. Then Chicago residents rioted and looted the magnificent mile in response.

If only they would better enforce the mask policy.
That was basically Kennywood. They clearly had a no confrontation rule. Like a hot girl was on a ride with her mask on her chin. They announced over PA to make sure you have your mask on. Reminded a second time the ride won't depart unless their mask is on properly over both their mouth and nose. She just ignored all of it. And then the ride departed.

By the end of the day, probably 40% had masks on improperly or not on at all. Beginning of the day it was very much better. However, the heat hit later on which probably contributed to it.

Anyone good with numbers and has time wanna tell me if the social security portion of the payroll tax was changed from instead of $1-137k being taxed at 6.2% if 70k-infinite being taxed 6.2% for social security would generate more or less revenue for social security?

(I understand 100% of the population is hit by the $1-137k portion, so does the being able to tax up to higher incomes make up for the substantial numbers loss.)

Didn't realize his plan included permanently killing the payroll tax

In other words, "President Trump promises to kill Social Security and Medicare"
It's not sure what he means by that. Some think he means forgiving the deferral. Others think ending the tax and funding Medicare and social security elsewise or making the payroll tax only on incomes over 100k. Or eliminating it and social security and Medicare.

So I found this interesting article, and I do have to say that the Dems are underhanded negotiating and not really offering a compromise they act like they are.

So if you read this article it states they are unwilling to go up a trillion with the throw away comment tucked in that the Dems aren't really dropping their price tag but just shortening the duration. Obviously to come back again when it is up.

Pelosi also seems to indicate this is true.

Thus, I would agree that Dems didn't really offer an actual compromised price, and I can understand why Republican negotiators were put off.

These are not the best written bills or orders or memoranda or whatever. But that's expected when White House staff probably put these together in a matter of hours without any of the usual process that goes into writing and reviewing legislation. But, since they aren't law, Trump/his cabinet can easily put out guidelines for interpreting and implementing these later.

As written it's not clear if the payroll tax deferral has a hard cutoff for people who make over $104k a year. It could be read as that. If you make $103,999 a year, you get the maximum benefit. If you make $104,001 a year, you get nothing (and you are rushing off to your employer to ask them to cut your salary by a couple dollars). Now that would be an insanely stupid rule and not how any other tax provision works, so hopefully they release guidance that it doesn't mean that, and just means the person making $104,001 only gets to defer the payroll tax on the first $104k of income.
I THINK it is intended to work that you pay no payroll tax up to 100k then you do from 100k to the normal cap. But, I don't think he intends for this actually to happen.

Okay, so it's a payroll tax deferment

So that means as a business you're allowed to delay paying those taxes until next year

So you'd have to pay double... in april 2022, unless those deferred taxes are forgive

I think Republicans are trying to set up a win win. If trump wins in November they can forgive those taxes and sabotage those programs down the road. If Biden wins in November, they can scream about Democrats doubling your taxes, even though it was trump's order
Well, he said this outright. If you elect him he will make the amount you save on your payroll tax permanent. If not, you are at the mercy of Dems who want to raise your taxes. It was outright said. I don't think he can legally actually change the payroll tax though due to how it is set up. So, we will see. He is calling the bluff on Dems to sue him. To look bad of course. And the Repub senators probably won't make a bill without him actually being sued so I dunno. It's just a fucking mess of political games.

Anyway, trying to read up on these EOs (actually not EOs. Only one EO and 3 memoranda) and... it sounds like it's nothing?

https://twitter.com/BharatRamamurti/status/1292239279251501056

Evictions one doesn't actually create an eviction moratorium; it asks federal agencies to see if they can maybe do something about evictions.

Payroll is a deferral so either employers continue to withhold so you don't see a difference, or they don't and it will all get withheld at year's end.

Unemployment Insurance the $400 is $300 from the federal government (FEMA's disaster relief fund which "cool" during a hurricane season) and expecting the states to pick up the tab on the other $100. However, as I was saying earlier when we were talking about USPS... states are going broke and the GOP refuses to help them so I have no idea how the fuck they could manage to afford even that 25% tab. And even if they did, that FEMA fund probably can't last that long before it gets depleted/cut off. (1-2 months seems to be the estimate I'm seeing from WaPo, others)

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/08/08/trump-executive-order-coronavirus

WaPo reports that unemployment experts are noting doesn't actually increase federal unemployment benefits at all, "but rather create a new program that could take 'months' to set up."

And this, of course, is all before even considering the almost certainly unconstitutional power grab these represent in just bypassing Congress and making the Executive more of a king who just issues decrees. Hell, Trump even called them "bills" when they obviously are not.
I alrdy posted almost all of this, but you added a lot of speculation posts to it instead of facts also.

The eviction moratorium I believe only applies to federal housing cuz I don't think he has authority over non federal.

Of the 4 bills only the housing one was labeled as an executive order. The other 3 were labeled as memorandums. 2 of them were ordered to be put in the Federal Register as Executive Orders go. 1 wasn't. The unemployment boost extension.

Now for the unemployment. That would be $400 a week extra til December 6th. (Yay Christmas). But, states are required to pay 25% of it themself. So it is really $300 from the federal government, but if they don't kick in their part... I think you get nothing federally due to the 25% requirement.

Which making states pay the extra when states are broke and cutting UE back (PA is taking 2.4% out of checks now due to low funds)...

How exactly will this tax holiday even work? I havent had a chance to read much and the couple of sites I did were pretty brief on details.
So, basically...

Payroll taxes (seems like all 7.65%) is DEFERRED from August 1st til the end of the year.

If he is re-elected, he will make the tax cut permanent, and it will not be repaid. If he is not re-elected and it made not to be repaid, then it will be owed back next year.

Of course, making that tax cut permanent means no social security or Medicare... So uh... But I believe he means the August 1st to end of year part would be permanant and not be repaid.

So I am definitely voting for Biden now and probably pulling my 401k cuz I have literally zero financial reliability and understanding of what is even going on anymore. Shit is fucking stupid.

My state alrdy is withholding unemployment insurance by almost 3% for lack of funds. Now they want states to fund 25% of this. Which surely sounds illegal to force them to do, which I get it basically them saying do it or you won't the the federal money. But like wtf is even going on at this point.

This is vaguely what I remember from reading articles back in March, though I don't have a source.
Ya.

For example New Jersey today.

540 people in hospitals
94 in ICU
34 on ventilators

Those are the severe cases.

You're not only making a pointless yet feebly unsuccessful attempt to move the goalposts in a bafflingly desperate attempt to prove yourself somehow right, it completely ignores the follow-up posts he made after it that doesn't fit into this newfound argument (that to reiterate you yourself never once tried to make before now).

But please, keep digging yourself in deeper for my amusement. I want to see how deep this rabbit hole can go.
Literally the same argument since post 1. You are a real piece of work lol. Not wasting my time anymore.
