First 2 games are buck's home court games. They are expected to win both. If magic win either of the 2, they steal home court. Bucks have to win game 3 or 4 now to steal it back.

Congrats to Nick Sandmann for suing the media and winning what may very well be a life-changing amount of money from them. It's a lot of money for an 18-year-old and hopefully he doesn't squander it on bad investments or an excessively high lifestyle.

He didn't win his cases. He settled for undisclosed amounts. I do think he may have eventually won them and probably easily will amass over ten million when all the cases are settled, but you seem to be misleading with details here or unaware he just settled 3 of the like 10 cases.

Nope. You are actually wrong. Perhaps you should re-read the exchanges.

He argued Ivanka was a federal employee. I questioned whether that was accurate. He argued that she HAD TO BE ONE because she works in the white house. I pointed out that the law actually states that unpaid workers in the federal branch are actually not considered employees. He disputed this rigorously. I stated with Supreme Court rulings and law stating as such that Ivanka was not a federal employee. He continued to dispute this and claimed she had to be because the supreme court rulings and such are wrong (hint: They are not wrong). (He also misread a law and what it means to try and support himself) This debate continued for a few more passages.

Immediately upon that new information being offered up, I said I was 100% wrong in that Ivanka was not a federal employee. The knucklehead I was arguing with somehow thought that this meant he was correct in all his arguings (which he was on the conclusion that Ivanka was a federal employee) in which he was wrong on at all points. All the things I pointed out for why I figured she wasn't an employee are rulings and laws and is exactly why it even existed that she made that special agreement. I stated that yes he was correct in the conclusion, and I was wrong (admitting you are wrong when you are is not hard). I, however, did state that all the arguings he did for why she was a federal employee however were wrong (which they were). It was nothing other than she made a special agreement due to the law existing the way it was that I was referring to, in order to lay minds at ease.

My reasoning for why an unpaid federal worker is not considered an employee is 100% correct. However, I was unaware that Ivanka made a special agreement regarding it.

His reasoning that the laws don't exist that way and Ivanka had to be a federal employee was wrong. However, he was correct she was considered a federal employee due to a special agreement regarding it that he unearthed at the very end of our discussion.

Not important though. I have admitted when I am wrong probably more times than the entire politics topic has combined. Not because you are less wrong either.

I think a lot of politicians are paying lip service in order to try and maintain the protests and/or riots from spreading or getting bigger. However, what they don't realize is that coming out and explaining why it happened that way concisely would do more than giving what appears to be approval to what they are doing.

If when Rayshard was killed during his incident the Atlanta Mayor had come out and explained why what happened had happened instead of condemning the cops and saying they were wrong, the incident in the long run might have been better. Instead they are worried about maintaining their office moreso than retaining order.

Sure Peduto and whoever may have gotten heat and backlash and initial furthering spread of unrest. But, in the future, the protestors might realize that they have to have a clear cut reasoning for their issues before they go to the streets also.

Like come out and be like, if this situation was a legitimate issue like with Floyd I would agree with you. This is not like that situation and here is why. Etc.

Masks could make you sick if you are re-wearing the same one repeatedly over and over without sanitizing it, but else-wise shouldn't be an issue at all. I wear masks every year during allergy season from the middle of may to the middle of june already due to pollen.

The claims of a weakened immune system are basically the same claim as washing your hands and such as weakening your immune system. That argument is for your immune system to be stronger you have to be disposed to the things in life to build immunity to them. If you avoid them forever, you would have it worse if you did eventually get it. It's not a very good argument for the most part.

Back when the unmarked vans in Portland were news, the mayor of Pittsburgh came out very strongly against them. He's a progressive Democrat but not leftist.

At a protest over the weekend, an unmarked van came up and asked for directions, supposedly. Someone went to help, got arrested by plainclothes officers, released a few hours later. Contradictory explanations from the PD, mayor, and so on. Overall details are still a little hazy.

So protestors went to the mayor's house yesterday afternoon to demand actual answers and a promise that this arresting tactic won't be used again in the future, as I understand it. They've been camped out on the street ever since.

I agree wholeheartedly with the protests, but going to the mayor's house still seems to me to be a tad much. It's not like he's in a huge mansion away from other properties, there's other neighbors close by.

From what I understand, a man named Mathew Cartier (25 years old). Was standing in traffic, trying to direct traffic on his own whims, and causing traffic hazards walking among ongoing traffic. He was repeatedly told to disperse and leave the area due to the hazard he was causing and the possibility of causing an accident by plainclothes police officers. He continued and after being told multiple times to leave, was detained by those plainclothes police officers.

Peduto, who chose to support rioters and looters, of course is now the target. The protestors on his street are not demanding actual answers but demanding his resignation completely. Peduto instead of explaining why this arrest happened, condemned his own officers for arresting the man. However, the mob has its target in him now.

It is weird how we are so against plainclothes police officers yet weren't before. When that Southside Pagan group was arrested by plainclothes cops, I don't remember the outrage over them being there undercover to break up the drug ring in that area.

The "rethinking" you're talking about is based on the idea that not all people spread at equal rates, so if those people get infected and immune quicker then R is reduced more than if a random person was infected (and that these people also may be more likely to be infected, since they're interacting with more people). That is likely true to some extent, but few of these researchers think that that brings the herd immunity threshold down from like 2/3 or whatever to the 20% something you'd need to have actual herd immunity in the absence of any mitigation.

Yes, it absolutely is your opinion. There is no FACT answer. There are theories and they are ever evolving based on incoming data.

Researchers are now evolving towards ideas that the herd immunity is likely much lower than what they initially thought.

It is extremely unlikely that any place in the US has reached the herd immunity threshold. There are places that have had enough people infected to achieve a significant "partial" herd immunity. This is still a big deal; if 20% of the population is immune, that drops Rt by 20% and might bring you below 1. But the crucial point is that Rt is only below 1 while in the presence of current levels of social distancing/mask wearing/etc. If everyone in, e.g., NYC went back to life as normal pre-covid, cases would start to go back up again. We need a vaccine (or for things to get way worse than they were even in March/April in NYC) to reach actual herd immunity (by which I mean enough immunity for the virus to stop spreading despite "normal" human behavior).

That's your opinion. If you read the article, researchers are starting to rethink that. And certain places like New York are thought to maybe be at it.
