Your account isn't even two weeks old. You've been able to post on CE for a week and already you've made a sweeping judgment call on me, who has had made maybe a dozen posts on the board in that time?

Either you're extremely petty to me in particular for no reason (not ruling that out) or you're lying about actually being new. To what end? Like every other banned account, you were hoping for a fresh start? Not if you blow your cover so easily.

I've been on these boards for decades. It's not difficult to figure the posting style of someone who's familiar with the boards and someone who isn't.

It's the fact that you're enjoying all this that grates. I'll admit that. Plenty of police out there legitimately want to do right by their community and wish they could improve the impression of the police as a whole, but it looks like you're only seeing the job as a means to an end of you being able to live comfortably without having to deal with anyone else in life.

But hey, maybe the trolling and the posturing is how you cope.

Honestly, I just don't really have the energy in my day to engage with a pair of recently banned accounts. What use is there in sparring with people who can't even keep from getting modded?

I just hope for darkprince's sake he's able to reconcile his role in society once America truly takes action on re-examining the role of the police in our country. It's hard to deal with the fact that no matter how personally righteous you feel, you're still part of a system that was envisioned for racist and classist reasons.

I will make no assumptions about the toxicity or entitlement of new users unless their own posts give me reason to.

I will carry on as I always have: conversationally on social boards, and with intent to help on game boards. If the people I speak to show any signs of these negative qualities, I may engage at my discretion, but oftentimes I'll just ignore them.

He's handsome, but not too much so. He has a good voice. He fits a general mold of "alpha white male" that society finds itself attracted to: some want to be him, some just want him.

He's also well-off, and has no qualms about any of his personal vices, and indeed seems to have the freedom to just sit around and talk to people for hours. That kind of freedom of self is also quite attractive.

He has a massive amount of content and is committed to constantly continuing the podcast, so even if that initial attraction doesn't work, he is just so constant and so intent on making himself part of the discussion that it's almost impossible to avoid him.

He also stands, on his own, for very little. A lot of people claim he's "moderate" or "apolitical", and for a country that is has been repeatedly taught to distrust its own government for the last fifty years, that "neutrality" can be attractive as well.

Oh sure his guests might have strong opinions, but more often than not he's mostly content to let them go on and maybe interject a question every once in a while rather than offer up his own opinion. That's not to say he never does have his own opinion on things, but then we get back to the massive amount of content, so even if you wanted to try to track his personal beliefs holistically, you have to be committed to consuming a TON of content to do so.

So for people who don't follow him regularly, most of their opinions of him are focused around a few bites, which doesn't get the entire picture, and fans of the show will call out people who aren't fans of the show for criticizing him, and they will have the power in those arguments, because they'll "know" Rogan better than someone calling out a five-minute clip. And they would most often be right to do so.

And that is what JRE is these days: it's not about Rogan himself. It's about the machine of the podcast and its ability to keep its listeners. It's capitalist, first and foremost.
