A device that allows you to obtain any currency inside of any video game free.

Breaking that down, it looks like it says, a device that allows you to obtain any currency (from inside of any video game) free.

So you could take that as a device that gives you unlimited currency in games (But that isn't really anything special many games have cheat codes for it), or a device that allows you to obtain in real life, any currency used in a video game.

If it's just currency inside games that is worthless (and doesn't stand up to the level of the other abilities, even the really weak ones).

If it's the ability to get currency in the real world, from video games, it's pretty much the most powerful one by a ton. So it's either the absolute weakest, or the absolute strongest basically.

Should be mentioned that the video game currency one could also be abused by CREATING video games with the currency you want.

Say you want immortality for instance?

Pay someone to create a video game where the currency is angel tears, which if consumed add 1 year to your life per tear.

Heck there could be different currencies in that same game for that matter. Angel blood heals you of all wounds/illness and causes you to regenerate health from then on.

You could have angel feathers that give you the power of flight as well.

Then make another game that has a currency that lets you save your game and reload it at will (in fact there are games like that, the one I am currently playing has a type of blood that lets you do that). That lets you actually save in real life and reload if you don't like the outcome.

Basically it could be massively abused outside of all the currencies that are currently available in games already.

Yeah I played Wizardy on the Apple IIc I think it was, but that game was so freaking awesome for it's time.

Yeah I have freaking tons of games on steam and have not even installed more than a few hundred of them. I can't resist a good deal, then there are free ones sometimes, or humble bundles etc. They just keep adding up over time.

Phantasy star II was actually my favorite non-online one. PSO (phantasy star online) was very similar to Diablo II in alot of ways, only sci-fi based, and I would say even more skill based in the combat. It was close to an MMO much like D2 as well (you could play with others).

FF6 (3) is still my favorite final fantasy, I played that every year for quite awhile (along with the Might and Magic games). Summers (back in the day) used to be dry for video game releases, so every summer I'd break out my old favorites and replay em. I actually have world of Xeen on my computer right now still lol.

Once I got married I cut back on my gaming alot (waaay back in 97 which is so long ago now), but I still kept my hat in and till 2000 or so, still finished most games that came out that I bought, but eventually I started this weird thing where I would only finish a few of em (Dark souls games, Digging games (steamworld dig 1 & 2 etc) and not even finish most of the large titles anymore (or even start em, I still have not played more than an hour of FFXV for instance, have not even loaded PErsona 5, never got halfway through Dragon Quest 11, only made it about halfway through Kingdom Hearts 3 etc).

All this good, high quality games, but I rarely get halfway through them now, meanwhile accumulating hundreds of other games many I never even load or try. I stopped buying em on steam about 2 years ago though unless I was willing to play them right away because too many games were just going into the list and never getting played at all.

I was offered a few coding positions back in the day because I coded on Muds in C++ with a bunch of other people (mostly professional coders who did it for fun on the side). I had not at that point gotten my AA in info tech, or had any formal training, though I did create a few games myself when I was in elementary school (but didn't sell them or anything).

Basically if you find a way to work with other people in the industry and they see/like your work, get along with you well, are able to interact with your code (you leave good rem messages etc, though I guess with call outs that would be less important now), you will probably get offered jobs over time.

Then again that was like 30 years ago, who knows if that is still possible now (probably not from coding on muds at least lolz). But I guess creating your own apps/games etc could also showcase your coding skills etc and possibly get you a job today.

How would they not be concrete with the device as described in the poll? A good portion of the poll choices are essentially "magic" they don't have to follow real word rules, or logic.

He is right in a way, a bet can be undetermined, if a result is not determined immediatly or within a fixed period of time.

So if there is no easy way to confirm the bet.....you could get no answer basically.

Bet a friend 1$ to see if a woman will be your perfect wife, and you could do that 1000 times with no being the answer every single time, because there is just one or two things that are not perfect to you, or not perfect yet (But she might change over time with you) etc.

Bet on if a woman will cure cancer and there would be no result because there is no way to determine the bet in the near future etc.

If there needs to be a fixed answer to the bet, in order for you to win or lose, within a standard period of time, than the ability would be much less powerful (but still very nice).

You don't have to just ask yes or no questions though and you could even determine if you are wasting you time.

I bet I can use this device to help create a cancer cure in less than a year.

There is no "sorta" if your bets are correctly placed. You would obviously want to work with experts, and you could even find the best experts with bets.

I bet a person is on the right research path for a cancer cure.

I bet that person is on xxxxxx continent
XXxX country
XXxX half of the country
XXxX state
Female
Below the age of xx
Last name begins with x
First name begins with x

You then use your bets to get instant results for all there theories, with no risk, and 100% accuracy. You could even use it to instantly prototype a medication, or medical equipment.

You need to make the question very specific too, for instance, death is a cure for cancer lol. There are also lots of cures for cancer that may be worse than cancer itself (or deadly eventually). Then you have different types of cancer so you'd probably have to specify the type of cancer etc.

It is a very great power, but I think some things would be hard to actually do with it.

For example there are some games that I'd rank very highly all-time that have captured my attention for very long amounts of time: Diablo 2, the Borderlands games, Disgea, Dragon Warrior/Quest 3, hell even friggin' Bejeweled!

Yeah I had staples throughout my life that I would go back and replay, but not for decades now sadly.

Started with games like Wizardry proving grounds of the mad overlord, moved on to all the great/amazing Might and magic games and then the two insanely awsome games Phantasy star online and Diablo 2 came out. Final Fantasy 6 (3) was in there as well. Pretty much had something as a "yearly" game till about 2000 but yeah, been 20 years now where i have been constantly accumulating more games than I play, and the number I finish each year has decreased constantly, to the point where I prob have not even finish one game in a year a few times now.

Even the ones I really really like, I often don't end up finishing at this point for some unknown reason.

Actually yeah now that I think more the bet one is better. You can literally cure all disease within a day and never die. That does actually trump teleporting. "I bet myself 1 cent the cure for cancer is x". "I bet myself 1 cent the first winning lotto number is greater than 5". So determine any bet is actually infinite knowledge, with some tedium to get to the answer, which allows for infinite scientific advancement (that you control even) which for all we know will end up giving you teleportation anyway.

You can't control the bet, only know how it'll turn out.

So, I bet myself 1 cent that the cure for cancer is pizza, you would know you would lose that bet.

It wouldn't make the cure for cancer be pizza.

You could win the lottery though, exactly by doing what you said, only you could do it a bit more (think there is like 50 numbers per ball in the lottery. So you would start with I bet myself 1 cent that the first number if over 25, and then you would know if it was over or under and you would do over or under 12, and then 6, and then 3, and then get it. Do that for each number and you win the lottery.

Though actually there would be no reason to do that at all, much easier/faster ways to get tons of money that wouldn't be as ...public....since you can tell what is going to happen before hand every time.

But yeah, you could figure out things fast, that had a select number of answers using bets like that, but not things like cures for cancer, space travel, teleportation, immortality etc.

Some of the other options could get you all of those things AND unlimited money.

Well if you want a challenge go with one of the others, Gaige is GREAT for kids, or people who can't aim at all (especially with a controller). You can play her without taking the skills that make her auto-hit everything, but even then her digi creature kills tons of stuff while you hide if you want etc. She is pretty much the easiest one to play by far.

I'd go with one of the others honestly, then later if you wanna just destroy everything, play as Gaige.

If your only going to play once? Then I guess Gaige but there is no challenge with her at all.

Salv and Maya are both good for a first run through, that you plan on playing again in the future.

Zero plays more like lily in the first one, but is more of a challange I think, still alot of fun.

IF you suck at aiming all together, or you suck at FPS games, Gaige is basically the easy button. You don't even really need to aim eventually, just spray bullets and let the richochete do the jobs.

Also, I mean, souls are a currency in demon souls etc, and in many games the currency can be used to level up etc. If you could use the souls to level yourself up, that would be pretty amazing as well. There are so many currencies that do amazing things in various games, and honestly anything that you trade for something is technically a currency, so sometimes magical items are currency as well.

You could basically be a god, heck, I'm sure there is a currency in some video game that lets you teleport lol. Spice lets you see the future, souls let you upgrade stats etc, but even so, I don't know if I could resist the VR option tbh.

You guys are not thinking about what would help humanity the most as well.

Teleporting certainly will get you infinite money and resources, but, it also allows you to literally teleport anywhere, including other planets, and there is no restriction listed on what you can bring (at least what your wearing). If you can actually bring other people, you could literally be the thing that enables humanity to spread out into the stars.

Technically telporting faster than light speed (instant travel up to a light year away), could enable you to actually travel back in time (the explanation would take forever, but it's true). And there would be no limit (you wouldn't be able to do the reverse though, so you'd have to be careful).

Anyway with teleportation depending on the limitations, you not only would have infinite money/resources, but you would have the ability to travel around easily quickly, anywhere you want, and the ability to help the human race (and possibly save it).

Money is nice, but a ton of the other ones can get you that in the right situation. The device that lets you get any currency in a video game gives infinite money as well (as many video games just use straight up cash), but there are magical forms of currency or high tech sci fi forms (or say Spice.....in a dune video game) that you could obtain as well, so that is WAY better than just knowing the outcome of any bet (doesn't mean you'll win any bet, just you know the outcome, so if you say, bet that you won't die jumping off a cliff, you know you'll lose, even if you try like 20 different places to jump, and just cause you do find one that you will win, doesn'tmean you will WANT to be alive after it).

Finally the device that lets you play any game as a VR game, depending on how good the VR is, could be insanely awesome (if far more selfish), since you could basically explore tons of worlds where magic works, or futuristic science works, you could go INTO shadowrun and play as any character/gender etc, and it would all be in VR. So if that VR was actually really lifelike, it would probably be the totally best and most awesome of the options personally (especially if it felt like real life, but if you die, it's just game over and you can play it again or another game).

I voted for Teleportation sadly as a knee jerk as it seemed like the best over all for humanity, but you know what, fuck humanity, I'm going for the VR option or maybe....the video game currency option (depends on limitations on both). Humanity can sort itself out.

OK!! Lets do the math.

First, I believe you can basically use a blender to make slim jims edible by babies, but, it might actually kill the baby if you JUST feed it slim jims, so lets say for the first year you give the baby significantly less slim jims and mix the paste in with apples etc.

Lets also just go for a straight 100 years. I know, you could probably have someone live longer if you had a large number of people who you forced to eat slim jims their whole life, maybe one would live past 100 years, but, also, I don't think eating just slim jims will actually be very healthy, so 100 years may be a stretch.

Finally factoring in the first year, lets say you only eat half as many slim jims through age 10 compared to how many you eat for the rest of your life. That means 95 years of eating slim jims. If we really really wanna go all out though, we could say we have 100,000 people that we try this experiment on, and one of em lives for 105 years...which gives us a flat 100 year again making the numbers easier.

Ok now we have the years, but...how many slim jims will they eat per year. Well lets look at the calories per slim jim. For a man, it says 2500 is healthy, but....we will have our test subjects working out constantly (also taking suplimental vitamins), so we can go with 3000 calories per day. Each slim jim is 60 calories. So that means 50 slim jims per day (thats a good 2+ slim jims per hour if you never slept, and eating that many slim jims,.....you might never sleep).

Anyway that gives us a straight up number of slim jims per year with 50 per day times 365 days. We do have to factor in the extra 1 day every 4 years though (So 26 extra days total) but we can do that later.

That comes out to 18250 per year, multiplied by 100 years is 1,825,000 slim jims + 26 days extra times 50 is 1300 more.

So your total consumed slim jims over that life would be 1,826,300 slim jims.

Rangers are pretty much trash currently at least, even with the improvements.

Yeah of the NPCs the cleric is the worst of the lot as far as building a char of that class. It has the absolute worst domain by far, that literally does nothing for the party. That being said, honestly the biggest "advantage" of the cleric is the ability to use healing word to bring other chars back up quicky, not it's not HORRIBLE if you play with her instead of a custom cleric.

Warlocks are pretty great, and having 2 of them rocks pretty well. Fighters/rogues are arguably the best since you can go eldritch with both of them and gain significant advantages in the process.

Cleric/Fighter/Fighter/rogue combo for instance gives you 3 chars that can cast magic missile and sleep (both are no fail). The fighters can use action surge to double cast the first round. If you switch out the cleric for a mage, that means the ability to cast 6 magic missiles the first round.

Fighters get well, alot of hp as well, can self heal, use all weapons, get a fighter specialization (+1 ac, +2 attack bonus for ranged attacks, +2 damage for 1 handed weapons (works with a shield) etc).

IF you build your fighter dex based, and go with eldritch, you get mage armor even without a wizard in your party, which with 18 dex (at level 4), and a shield, gives you insanely high ac (especially if you take the +1 ac from fighter spec). This lets your fighters use robes as well which give a variety of benefits.

That all being said, in the end there are basically 2 good choices for a primary character (other than for theme etc), a Eldritch knight dex based fighter, or a cha based warlock. Even if you want high cha and persuasion though, a Half-Elf wood Elf fighter, gets +2 to cha +1 to dex and con, longer movement range, stealth for free, darkvision, and with just 2 points invested into cha you end up with a 14 cha....which is only +1 less than a warlock to persuasion checks.

Meanwhile the same cha has 16 dex/16 con...highest possible AC (without spells), ability to use both ranged and melee weapons with the maximum bonus to hit (especially if you go with the +2 to ranged attacks), almost the absolute max hp possible in the game (max is if you snag toughness at 4 instead of dex...giving +8 total hp).

Meanwhile once you hit level 3 you can shut down any enemy with less than 28 hp (or multiples), and with 2 fighters and a rogue in theparty, you can shut down all/most of them. You have the potential to pound out 18d4+18 damage on your first round as well (with a wizard in the party) which till the underdark kills most enemies in 1 shot.

Anyway after playing a bunch the eldritch knight seems like the most op/strongest char in the current game.

I'd like to get to a point where I'm more discriminating in my purchases, so I'm not spending as much on games I don't play, but for now this system of limiting my options and letting go of games I'm not enjoying is working for me.

I don't actually mind supporting good game creators even if I don't ever play the game myself. But I am getting tired of early access that never ends or eventually theygive up on them etc.

I actually have unlimited time now to play but yeah once I was married at 27 (23 freaking years ago now) I had way less time to playgames, but for a very log time I stil really enjoyed them.

I have been cheated on, it's extremely selfish and to some degree evil (Depending if the cheater uses protection and how many people they sleep with etc).

I would never do that to someone. I wouldn't do something like that to a person I don't know, let alone one I am supposed to care about or love.

If you want to sleep with other people, communicate with your partner.

If your no longer in a physical relationship with your partner, talk to them about having casual physical relationships with other people if they are not interested in doing so with you often enough (or at all).

If you are no longer interested in your partner, tell them that, in a nice way, but be freaking honest.

Cheating is bad.

So, I just got Vigil, the longest night. It looks good (alot like salt and sanctuary that I love), but there are just too many games, I can't keep up with them anymore. I have so many I need to play that I already own, and then on top of that good games like this get released and I totally miss them.

I guess having too many games is a good thing, but, it's actually making it so I don't play any of them very long for some reason and rarely finish them now.

Lol I was watching my baby brother home alone at 2, and even had a finger cut off in a door at that age, luckily a neighbor in Boston brought me to the hospital and they sewed it back on. Still have the scar though.

Course that was almost 50 years ago, the world was diff then.

Don't listen to the people telling you to go back. Bad advice that creates mixed signals for both parties. Toxic situation.

End it. It's some pain now, for a later reward of personal growth.

One of you has to move out.

I'm just glad she didn't cave and give him birthday sex, cause yeah, that could really mess things up.

Hopefully they can transition to just a good friendship eventually.

I have a friend that was helping his aunt with lambs. They would raise them, and then sell them to someone. They would actually get paid a bunch. And got some of the meat, as well...

I'm such a wuss, if I raised lambs or even cows, I would never be able to eat them.

Chickens I would probably enjoy eating more tho, I don't like birds.

But cute little lambs? No way.

Also don't mind eat fish, they are dumb.
