That's why I made this topic. Trying to learn. I learned by doing, not necessarily just by reading. I did read but I'm also kind of a dumbass so I need to ask the professionals to make sure I get things right. Apparently this shit is dangerous.

I've been zapped a good number of times, and even minorly welded a 10mm wrench to a car frame by accidentally sparking the battery.
It's scary the first few times, but you get used to it and you learn.

Hurts like a sumbitch though. I'm not sure what's worse, the low voltage high current of a battery jolt, or the high voltage low current of getting zapped by a spark plug or faulty plug wire

Sorry to hear that, it's hard to have to watch your best buddy go through that and to make that call. My coworker is going through that with his dog right now, she's only 7 but has a mass deep in her nose that's causing her to violently sneeze and expel blood, among other things.

Is there a distinction between their corporate logo and the badging on their vehicles?

Usually the vehicle badging is brand-based, like Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, etc. You'll probably find a little "GM" logo on things like VIN plates, owners manuals or stamping on the window glass, as well as on OEM replacement part boxes, but that's about it. Older cars used to have a little "GM" emblem on the driver's fender and on the seat belt buckle release button.
