It's not really a falsehood so much as it is getting so mad at the semantic game that you continue to play it. "Biden is backing down" is not really the point of the frustration.

Either way what I'm trying to say here is that this is wasted energy. The original stimulus should have been 2k, the Dems are doing that slowly, everyone needs to move on to the next thing

It doesn't fucking matter. However much the January check is for, they still need to give more aid.

Oh another extremely pro tip for Theseus/Asterius is that Theseus is wide open on his special attack at 50% HP. You want to be hitting him as much as possible when he uses it. Ideally you've cleared Asterius first, and it's definitely easier to do with on some patterns than others. I was beating him by running and fighting the normal way for a while but personally I find this so much easier than dealing with the normal aoes on top of his base attack pattern once he gets to 50%.

For the base weapons, I think bow is probably the best, then rail, then maybe shield although I personally dislike base shield. None of the weapons are bad, though some benefit way more from upgrading Aspects than others, and a lot just comes down to playstyle. That said, the ranged weapons aren't my favorites but they for sure carried my early game.

Special shoutouts to Rail because there are certain boons and hammer upgrades you can get for it that will just tear enemies apart.

Eh, to be fair, this is the case for rare physical games, too, since it only exists to the people that have it unless you're willing to greatly overpay for it, which most people aren't. Likewise, those digital games would exist to the people that still have them.

To be fairer, in the case of the physical game the digital archive still has to be made. With digital copies it has already been done, but it's artificially made unavailable.

There's also the subject of longevity - what happens when the hardware starts breaking and you can no longer access it? This is obviously also a problem with physical copies but again, with digital the solution should already exist. But something like PT is just gonna be gone officially when every PS4 capable of playing it breaks, besides pirated archives. And it's already impossible to access "new" copies besides piracy.

However, this isnt a physical vs. digital issue, its a good digital maintenance issue, which you shouldnt expect from console makers who need to push their new hardware and thus leave the old hardware (and their digital storefronts) behind. Hopefully with backwards compatibility becoming the norm this will change. Only Xbox are fully committed to aiming to have the entire library available though.

I feel like this is splitting hairs when the criticism is that priority changes based on profit motive and the company's whims. Nintendo used to have good digital management with the Wii/U VC, until they didn't. Any company at any point can decide BC or digital archives it isn't worth it. Even for Microsoft, I assume their interest in backwards compatibility and digital is due to Game Pass and if that shuts down I wouldn't expect them to prioritize it.

Personally for me it's not the negativity but how Sterling reveling in the negativity has become kind of their brand. I hate arguing over tone but that's legit what it is for me. I get way more mileage with both well-reasoned constructive criticism from people who like AAA gaming but can't be silent about its flaws and from scalding takedowns from people who cannot stand it. Sterling meanwhile takes this weird medium and the cutesy, irreverent way they present their points just takes all the weight out of it even if I agree with them. The criticism somehow becomes so over-the-top negative that it just falls flat.

I actually have to wonder, does the fact that Joe's human body was on screen for a lot longer than in most other such cases make it better, or does the fact that he was voiced by Tina Fey for a large chunk of that time make it worse?

It's largely neutral because they handled this specific element in a way that makes sense and knew when to drop the gimmick when it was Important, but it's still bad.

My honest opinion is that people at Pixar took this really tired animated movie trope and went "ok we can do this but actually good tho" and attempted that, but really...it's just a bad concept. Now that Pixar has tried and failed I don't think it can be salvaged into something interesting at this point.

Like again the best thing I can say about it is that they animated the joke extremely well, and that still didn't make it funny enough

The animation for the afterlife segments was phenomenal. It is such an infuriatingly hilarious flex that Pixar has run out of "normal" things to impress people by animating and have just decided to do abstract 2D characters in a 3D animation. They're so good at this it actually makes me mad.

(still, I think I would personally take Spiderverse over it, just because I love that shit)

The rest of the movie I thought was pretty mid. This is a cynical take, but I was worried it would just be a worse hybrid of Inside Out and Coco and that's exactly what it was. There was a twist, sure, but the twist was bad (post #2 nails it). Ironically, this one lacks the soul those other two movies had. At best it was okay and at my most cynical it's blatant award baiting from Pixar.

FFVII generally has a good ending though, unless you're trying to create a future where everyone lives for some reason.

I mean, maybe I'm wrong! I just don't see the point.

I mean yes, I think that is what they are setting up, though I don't think that will be what actually happens.

Personally my money is on Aerith is trying to avert her own death, but it will still end up happening, but later in the story and hopefully in a way where she overtly exerts more agency then getting lmao backstabbed for plot reasons. I don't really like the theories that someone else will die instead but it's possible.

I mean, I wouldn't even consider those major changes. Those were all minor characters in the original game. Zack didn't become important until Crisis Core. I feel like Sephiroth isn't really going to let them get off course that much. That's kind of what the ending seemed to imply, too.

I think it's very unlikely Zack remains a minor character after he has become more important due to Crisis Core and then the game makes a big deal about him surviving. Some of the writing staff from CC are on FF7R as well. Also, Sephiroth at the end of the game is trying to get Cloud to join him and change both of their destinies, so I'm not convinced he cares too much about remaining on course. He even kills Barret not too long before that, though it gets healed by the remake ghosts.

I think this is all a pretty straightforward interpretation!

The pacing is weird but I don't think it was bloated too much out of control. Like they could have probably shaved 10 hours off to make it about 25-30 and that would have been perfect.

The sidequest areas are alright, the combat system is fun enough to keep you wanting more of it, the "filler" is mostly good with some parts that do suck. Basically I'm happy with most of the dungeons but there's a couple that drag on way too long for where they are in the story (looking at you, sewer level).

That might be a little straightforward for him, but we also know it's less about the contest than the leadup so there is still plenty of room for swerves.

China's strangehold on the world is quite shocking honestly. Shows that the Nazi's biggest problem, apart from the genocide and general evilness, was that they entered the scene a century too early. If it happened right now countries would be all like "but let's remember the corporate interests and business opportunities and growth potential" and then turn a blind eye and do nothing.

Setting aside the hotness of this take, turning a blind eye was literally the response to Germany annexing multiple other countries before Poland forced action.

Alright so that's PlayStation, Xbox, and now all physical retail store copies both digital and physical. Are we missing any platforms? Steam maybe? We are very close to 100% unlaunch status if we aren't there already

Oh also an interesting tidbit from the article

The meeting took place before Sony Corp.s shocking announcement that it was pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store and will offer full refunds to any customer who requests one. During the staff meeting, CD Projekts directors said they had come to an arrangement with Sony but didnt offer specifics. In a Twitter post on Friday, the company said that following our discussion with PlayStation, a decision was made to temporarily suspend digital distribution of the game.
So I guess both companies did sign off on some version of the delisting.

Anyways as someone who bought this on PC, I hope the devs go on strike and leave the game unfinished for months.

I mean, CDPR should definitely look like the head clown by a big margin.

They do, that's why I said various levels of clownery are afoot, this is an entire fiesta.

yeah it's definitely worse. WB pulled it from Steam on their own accord. this is CDPR throwing Sony under the bus and Sony responding by nuking them.

How is this Sony nuking them? They're losing the sales money too. From a PR perspective everyone involved in this still looks like various degrees of clown to me.

Basically I think you think something that isn't likely true because you are not in the scenario and are talking backwards at it.

It is like someone who says they would absolutely have ran back to save the child in a burning building because it is not actual scenario in front of them. When in the actual scenario, they might not actually do that at all not because they wouldn't have wanted to or thought they would have, but because in the actual moment sometimes that isn't what you actually do.

Corrik, I'm actually willing to meet you halfway here and say that most of the elected Democrat politicians who support abolishing the Electoral College wish to do so for their own personal benefit (to ensure Democrats win elections, which you seem to be caught up on), but I promise you the normal people doing so and especially the ones in this topic do not care specifically which party benefits from a popular vote.
