And the police get their wages paid for by taxpayers.
This means literally nothing. The taxpayers do not pay the union. The police choose to. They could choose not to. It is their money then. If I pay you $100 to mow my lawn, and you go and overdose on it. I didn't pay for you to overdose. You did. I paid you to mow my lawn. Taxpayers pay the police their wages. They choose to use their wages how they want. It would be like if a police officer decides to get a porn subscription and you going omg taxpayers are paying for porn like this is outrageous. It's their money.

Like, literally stop saying it. It's completely wrong and makes you look uninformed. Bro, like for real!

You tell me. Letting inspectors in to do their jobs could have cleared a lot of those suspicions, per the UN mandate which authorized use of force with failure to heed.

Anyways, how do you support fighting against terrorism? Every president is a war criminal by your standards right?

I certainly wouldnt say that not bringing up the police shooting makes anyone a hypocrite, but the blas attitude about it does bother me a bit, which is why I commented. I understand the perspective that xp outlined in his comment, but some of the other responses seemed to be pushing it a bit beyond this is being brought up in bad faith to I actually dont think this is that big of a deal. Maybe (hopefully) my interpretation was wrong!
It's funny because what he said actually doesn't apply to a lot of the people here. See, it takes a lot less words just to say "man, that's wrong or sad to hear" then half of these responses. The problem isn't with people who are like yeah that's wrong, and we need to stop the things that cause these things to happen (which is a separate argument but at least an argument that isn't saying violence is acceptable). The problem is with people saying it's justifiable or acceptable for rioting, arson, looting, and etc for whatever reason. That's the issues and that is the extremism leaking in here.

Amazon and Google both having the mindset of "if we just throw a ton of money at it, it will work, right?" is precisely why neither of them has enjoyed any real success in the gaming world yet. This is already a far better crack at cloud gaming than Google's utterly misguided attempt with Stadia, but I fully expect it to meet the same fate.
Well, the common thinking is they are laying the groundwork now for the platform then they will start to get exclusive content (which very well could be buying up studios).

You see many others who do swimmingly in just changing things people say to try and divert points or to bolster their arguments. However, they at least don't do it usually with a disgusting fake comment such as literally killing such and such is awesome.

lol this is something. the fact that you have the audacity to say something like this after accusing us of "being in an extremist bubble" and "having sick ideas" is wild.

imagine what you would say if any of us used this logic when talking about protesters shooting police officers. "you consider it killing cops! to us, it's actually saving lives by preventing cops from killing more people!"
Yinz (not all of you, but specific people who converse in this topic) literally are saying the things I am saying yinz said. That's the difference. Chris literally said "I am not gonna be upset about police being shot" verbatim. He added some context, which likely doesn't realistically apply because I am sure cops do care about people being murdered in their homes. He just attributes that (likely mostly false claim) to them.

People have literally said something like they are just buildings they will get insurance in response to looting and arson.

People have literally said in response to a video of a group of teenage African-Americans assaulting a white man trying to go to his car in a parking lot and stealing his keys that it was understandable during the Charlotte protests in 2016.

These things have been said outright. I never said what you said. That's what in your mind you think I am saying because you just change what I say to whatever is ridiculous to try and justify your own points and debase the character of those who say them. Like, that's literally a ridiculous claim.

It would be like someone saying they think communism isn't that bad of an idea for a government system. And then someone going OMG YOU THINK THE GREAT TERROR and genocide committed by Russia is AWESOME!

Like, no. That isn't what they said.

Similarly, the flaw in your logic is thinking that if we just make laws to hold police accountable, that the justice system will actually uphold them.
Can I ask you a question, Jakyl?

If there was something that resulted in the death of even more people at their hands, would you be okay with protestors burning their buildings down and not be upset if they got shot and etc?

Now, granted. People who are not trying to kill people. But, people who either directly or indirectly are resulting in the dearh of people they want to help due to their mistakes, incompetence, or so on.

So you're on the record for the most minimal solution imaginable to a massive problem. Under the current system, the police can literally claim "I thought I saw a weapon and I feared for my life" and it doesn't matter what the video footage says, because it's difficult to refute such a claim, because any action from a victim could potentially be pointed at as an example of hostile behavior. For example, the drunk man lying face down on the floor of a hotel hallway was gunned down multiple times for lowering his arms towards his waist.

Are body cams a good start? Sure. But the underlying culture is what needs to change. For fuck's sake, George Floyd was murdered on-camera, and Derek Chauvin KNEW he was being filmed, and he did not correct his actions in any way. Why should he, given that police are far more often than not going to face zero actionable punishments for their brutality?

As long as you refuse to either admit that their actions are over the line (even if they're allowed by the letter of the law), or call for actual change that might make YOU feel "less safe" (and would make others feel more safe), then yes, you're completely fine with violence.
I think your problem is that you go into every scenario with thinking people are TRYING to kill other people. It's a flaw I see in your logic surrounding almost every situation.

Corrik, you're really not against violence though. You're against violence on the other side of the debate, but you're not against violence. You're on the record of saying that the current state of policing shouldn't change because you, personally, feel safe with how cops are trained to react. A lot of this reactionary violence on the left is a direct result of violence being committed by the police and subsequently being brushed under the rug as acceptable and legal.
You are on the record that the problem with the police is they lack accountability for when they do something wrong. Correct?

I am on the record that I believe that the police should get more funding so every cop has a body cam, and it is against the law to turn it off with actual legal repercussions because I agree accountability is very important.

I am not FOR violence. That's a despicable viewpoint to have.

Yeah but now that I am looking at Worldometer Coronavirus stats I am noticing a weird trend of low death rate in other countries as well
Look at France for example
The number of cases per day is double than the first wave
And the number of deaths? about 1/10 of it
What the hell
Because they didn't catch probably even 5-10% of all the infections back then.

Though it is also possible it mutated into a less deadly strain also I suppose.

We will see in like 3-4 weeks. That's the usual lag time on deaths.

Death rate is super low for some unknown reason but we are getti g dangerously close to the peak daily number of cases that Italy had (iirc 8000) despite having 1/6 the population

The main reason it happens is because Israelis are idiots

Try to shut down one and then they all go "whyyyy are we not allowed to protest when it's ok to pray in a synagogue whaaaa"
Fucking bunch of crybabies crying about this bullshit when other people are dying because of them
Well, the death rate being lower than before could because your infection rate was extremely higher than you realized before but you didn't have the testing to catch it then like you do now.

Could be younger people getting it instead of older.

Or them knowing how to better deal with it now.

I'd guess it's a combination of all 3 of these.

So you are discussing wholly different things. He is talking about whether the law should be changed.
Correct. Though they were not clear about what they were talking about while I was, yet they attacked my arguments despite that.

That said, it's okay to think laws should change. I have said I think laws should change with body cams and some other things.

However, flipping out over the people not going to jail when they were sent through the legal process seems a bit weird. It shouldn't be fuck the police. It should be we need to change the laws, if that is how you feel.

You seem accepting of the current structure, whereas I am disgusted by it.
I am discussing a case bound currently by the laws that pertain to the case and what I will feel will happen with such laws.
