No, they aren't. They're scnes faire.

Fighting the bad guys is not a character trait. It's inherent to the action genre. What makes a character who they are is what makes them unique from their peers. In Bond's case, his identity is in his playboy nature. It's the thing which separates him from action characters like John Wick, Jason Bourne, John Rambo, etc.

When they leave that at the door, Bond becomes just another action hero with a gun. If the Daniel Craig series is so great, why has Bond struggled to remain relevant? How come his version doesn't receive the same parodies as older interpretations of 007? They're fighting against the underlining appeal of the character and they're fighting a losing battle in doing so.

Its a Bond movie in the sense that he acquires tastes for all of those things over time, especially since it was a reboot.

That was a marketing lie though. They never had any intention of turning him into Bond.

There was no character development between the first and second movies. It only in Skyfall that he started to act more like Bond. But then SPECTRE went right back to having him be Quantum of Solace Bond.

It's weird to see a fighting game without a single playable female character. I never noticed before that almost literally every cereal mascot is male. Mikey from Life cereal is sometimes depicted as female, but that's it. Even then, male Mikey is still regarded as the default.

Maybe they could give Toucan Sam a sister or something.

He doesn't drink. He doesn't enjoy sex. (He only likes to cuckold other men to prove he's alpha over them.) He resents the tux and his upper class upbringing. The only Bond-like thing he does in the entire movie is gamble and that's only because it's a major plot point from the novel.

If EON could've traded the rights to James Bond for the rights to Jason Bourne, they would've done so in a millisecond.

That feeling of carrying a barrel over my head and launching it at an enemy from a distance is one of the best feelings of the 90s gaming era. It just has a power fantasy to it.

I can't imagine someone actually thinking this. The first game is good but the second is totally better in every way. I don't mean like I like it more, the design is the same but with additional, more creative challenges.

Let me put it this way. The reason that Diddy Kong is the protagonist of the second game is because Rare wanted to show Nintendo that it was Rare's gameplay and not Nintendo's mascot which made the game. I disagree with them wholeheartedly. The character I'm playing as makes a tremendous difference. If either Donkey Kong County game had been Bubsy's Bobcat Country, I'd have peaced out in the first 10 to 15 minutes and that's just being honest.

Captain K. Rule isn't as interesting a persona as King K. Rule. (Neither are as good as Bowser.) The animal pals aren't as good in the second game as they are in the first game. The protagonist isn't as good as in the first game. I don't want to play as a simian version of Bart Simpson or Max from Goof Troop -- that 90s kid with a red shirt and backwards baseball cap who has Attitude. I want the powerhouse Donkey Kong; the ape with a history of throwing barrels at Mario and challenging the same mustachioed plumber at go karts. When I played DKC2, I tended to skip over Diddy and go straight to Dixie. The poor guy's caught in the middle where he's neither the strongest, nor the most agile. Diddy is my main in Diddy Kong Racing, so it's not like I've completely abandoned him.

I kid you not, the absence of Donkey Kong kept me from playing the second game until about three years ago. On the plus side, it meant that I still had one last great SNES game to discover. But I haven't played it since beating it and I've returned to Mario and Donkey Kong multiple times since then.

• This character is Bruce Lee if he survived the apocalypse. This character is Bruce Lee if he lived in ancient China where people flew through the air, spat fireballs, and teleported short distances. This character is Bruce Lee if Bruce was somehow second best behind your character. (Blasphemer.)

• Hey, look. It's that popular wrestler who works for the other company. Oh, wait. No. It's just his clone. Well, if you've ever wonder what a match between X and Y would look like, just pretend Z is actually Y. The match itself will function pretty much the same way as if it had been the other guy.

They close down Splash Mountain for refurbishment at some point during the winter. Chances are, that'll be when they change it to the Princess and the Frog. If you wanna see the version with Br'er Rabbit again, I'd advise going sooner rather than later.

Would it have been ignored in comics as inaccurate movie weirdness or would the comics have retroactively stated that Harley is in fact the Joker's daughter and that they are in an incestuous relationship?

They had a few matches, but Ax was sadly washed up when LoD go there, and Demolition had Crush. I think there is only 1 or 2 matches of Animal and Hawk vs Ax and Smash, the rest of them were 3v3 with the full trio of Demolition vs LoD and I want to say The Texas Tornado or just Smash and Crush

On the whole, the feud was not very well received. Demolition said in an interview not too long ago that the WWE made the mistake of throwing them into a rivalry right away instead of building up to it.

Literally, the in-ring debut of the Legion of Doom had a video package insert from Demolition saying that the LoD are knockoffs and the odds are 3 to 2 in Demolition's favor. The Road Warriors/Legion of Doom couldn't even wrestle their first match for the company without the WWE going straight for a feud between the two painted muscular tag teams.

It also didn't help that Legion of Doom won all of their matches and won the first one by pinfall in about seven minutes or so. What's the point of even continuing a feud when you beat them that quickly?

The Legion of Doom feuded with Demolition when they first joined the WWE in the summer of 1990. The feud ended at Survivor Series with The Warriors (Ultimate Warrior, Texas Tornado, Hawk, and Animal) against The Perfect Team (Mr. Perfect, Ax, Smash, and Crush).

Honestly, the Riddler's tower would've been great had Batman Forever been the immediate sequel to the first Batman movie.

The Riddler's tower was built using funds from a highly profitable new technology. Having it replace the cathedral from the first film might've been an interesting commentary on the way that technology has taken over people's lives to a point that it's almost a religion of its own.

But that doesn't work when you have a film made in-between where the confrontation takes place at the zoo.

The movie hits many of the same beats as the first Batman movie.

• the bad guy is a cackling maniac with a loud attire and a face that has been changed to an unnatural color by chemicals
• we revisit Bruce Wayne's parents being shot in an alleyway
• Bruce Wayne himself is shot and left for dead after Two-Face forces his way into Wayne Manner (the same thing happened when Joker forced his way into Vicki's apartment)
• Bruce Wayne falls in love "for the first time" (again) and is worried
  about whether or not he should share his secret with his blonde
  intellectual businesswoman lover
• Batman goes after the bad guys in the Bat Plane, but it gets shot down
• the confrontation with the bad guys takes place in a tower
• Batman saves his lover from falling to her death (and his sidekick)
• the bad guy (Joker/Two-Face) falls to his death

At least Empire Strikes Back would've been drawing from a different source material than just the first Tim Burton movie.

I remember when people tried to make George W. Bush out to be Adolf Hitler. To a lesser extent, anyone who has run on a Republican party ticket has been "Hitler." (To be fair, people on the right frequently try to make a Josef Stalin out of anyone who dares to run as a Democrat.)

Now we have an individual who actually repeats the rhetoric of Nazis, who is overseeing the genocide of undocumented immigrants in concentration camps, and people are complaining about the left trying to turn everyone into Hitler.

There are greater things at stake here than people getting upset over the same old rhetoric, but that it is the same old rhetoric is how it's so readily dismissed.
