When I was 11, I played the X-Men beat 'em up so much that I twice beat it on a single quarter. I played it 6 years ago and lost to Magneto. Before I could pop in another quarter, the two people who were playing alongside him vanquished him.

I'd love to find an arcade and play that one again. I'm seriously considering getting the $400 mini-arcade when it comes back just to avenge that loss. (As opposed to, y'know, defeating Magneto in another game which I own or could buy for a faction of the cost.)

It was a sequel to the Brenden Frasier series? Like, Brendan appears as a ghost in a small cameo role and tells his great-grandson Tom Cruise not to go searching for the mummy?

It seems like expanding upon a film series which already has a trilogy and a spinoff (with a sequel of its own) would've been a better launching pad for a hypothetical shared universe than a reboot. It also would've allowed them to state with honesty that Tom Cruise, Brendan Frasier, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had so far been a part of the Dark Universe franchise.

You literally have the words "white" and "Black" side by side, describing two different ethnic groups, but one is capitalized and the other is not. That'd be like capitalizing Female and leaving male lower case m.

Just be consistent. If you're describing an ethnic group, go ahead and capitalize it. You don't need to virtue signal by only capitalizing one of them.

Bram Stoker would not have included Black people favorably in his novel, Dracula.

Chapter 7 of Stoker's final novel Lair of the White Worm lays bare what he thought of Black people.

It gets worse in Chapter 17...

She had chosen the word deliberately. She wished to meet his passion with another kind.

No, seriously, fuck this guy.

Dracula, the novel, is still a good story worthy of a faithful adaptation. But I've no desire to honor the wishes of a fervent bigot when it comes to leaving literally every character of his novel White. If anything, he deserves the Lovecraft County treatment.

There's a standard for comparison for that kind of thing. Even for his generation, his bigotry was too much to be tolerated. That being said, I still don't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater. I'd like to do a faithful adaptation of the Dracula novel if I could. It would just need to be more inclusive than what he would've been during his lifetime.
