I've been in a good mood lately ever since finding out that the Detective Conan dub has picked up again. (I'm just gonna call the new version Detective Conan to differentiate it from the heavily localized original dub. It's only called Case Closed by legal necessity, and the case inside the slipcover even says "Detective Conan.")

I've literally dreamed of this happening more than once over the years, and with that and Maguire returning to the suit, it's like someone is answering my prayers.

I think I'll wait a while to get the new Kingdom Hearts rhythm game. I am excited for it, but I have too many expenses coming up in the next few months (and there's always the looming threat of covid so I want to keep something saved for that).

It kinda sucks because it'll be the first time in a long time that I don't get a KH game on or near release, excluding cases where I didn't have the game system for it.

It took me until forty-five minutes after I got home and was about to eat something, to realize I was still wearing it.

I do hope mask wearing becomes a regular thing when people are feeling ill, even after this whole thing is over. But that requires a level of social responsibility that Americans simply don't have. You can't even count on people to put their shopping carts away or not litter.

I actually don't mind grinding at all. I don't mind repetition like that, and I enjoy seeing gradual improvement in my character. Very often I've put over a hundred hours into an RPG before I'm anywhere near the end.

The two new Case Closed movies I ordered came in today. The new voices will take some getting used to since I have a lot of history with both the Japanese voices and the old English dub, but it's not bad at all. Some of the voices even sound pretty similar to those of the old dub.

One of the movies is a feature-length retelling of the first episode, with a ton of early bird cameos and references. They modernized things a bit from the 90s so people actually have cell phones and such such, but other then that it doesn't really interfere with canon. They also even included a song by my favorite Japanese artist, the late great ZARD, who sang a lot of songs for the series before her death, so I lost my shit there. With all the nostalgia knockout punches, I'm having a blast with it.
