Yeah, but he isnt using the virus to do that. If anything, hes preventing that kind of voting from happening, which has been promoted as a response to the virus. He is not using the virus to rig the election by preventing mail in voting.

I think non-violent offenders should be getting community service more often than not. I also think prison should be more oriented toward education and job training. The most heinous offenders should be separate from this though, and pretty much just be locked up and forgotten about.

That's deceptive, they're grouping secretaries, nurses, techs, with doctors and admins. The gap isn't in pay, but positions.

They do mention that at the bottom of the graphic. They show how much of the gap is a result of different positions and how much a due to number of hours worked. It leaves about an 11% gap. Some would say this is partially due to salary negotiation, but I suspect a big factor they are overlooking is number of years of experience. That would need to be looked at.

the test he got was a virtual appointment with his GP, who looked at his symptoms and said he had covid. he then drove to the only testing site for the virus in the area at the time and was turned away because he's only 36. though fun fact, those early PCR tests that the federal government put out were bad, contaminated control led to false negatives...

and like i said above, he got the drug from a NY doctor through a teleconference. apparently some doctors started handing it out like candy after trumps initial announcement...

Well, that certainly fills in all the gaps. Thats a pretty messed up story, but not nearly as messed up as getting prescriptions from a teleconference appointment across state lines from a doctor youve never seen before. Really seems like that shouldnt be allowed...

Well, I hope he feels better soon. Some people seem to have a really hard time kicking it. Ive had a low fever for two months and the first two tests I got were negative before I got a positive one off a throat swab. Fortunately Ive felt fine otherwise apart from the second week. I guess I get tired a bit easier.

Probably the states with the least diversity will have the fewest overall number of incidents of racism. As for likelihood that a racist event will occur to an individual person by state? I wouldnt even know where to start. It probably doesnt vary all that much.

But there would be differing degrees of economic collapse depending on the degree of economic shutdown. Which is where the nuance comes in. Theres a lot of grey area with all of the variables involved, and I think we need to sort through those very carefully.

Also, of course Trump wont shut down the country. He didnt shut it down the first time. Only the governors have the authority to shut down their states.

People will die as a result of the economic collapse resulting from the shutdown also. The debate is how to implement the response to minimize the number of deaths while taking both causes into account. It is absolutely a lose-lose scenario.
