You don't really even get as much of an advantage with choice in devices going Android these days since they all pretty much look like iPhones now anyway. In exchange for a UI I probably won't customize and a few (and shrinking number of) exclusive apps I probably won't use I would get a phone that still gets updates after 2 years, faster hardware, better resale value, and a more cohesive ecosystem.theres a small number of things i definitely like about android. installing any app you want even if its not on the app store is nice even though theres only 2 of those i actually use. samsung pay technically is better than apple pay due to its ability to emulate a magnetic swipe, but in aus everywhere has chip readers so thats useless. samsung is developing the ability to run a desktop linux OS on the phone and then use a docking station for monitors etc but its very primitive right now. like i dunno. ios just works better right now. it has 99% of features that android has that are useful today, but it does it a bit better --- |

And yes i have the issue on wifi as well. It gets so bad that even manually updating fails half the time. I have to force close the alp, delete the cache, delete the data, this basically downgrades it to an old version of the play store, open it sign in again let it update itself, let it detect all my apps again, and then maybe theres a 30% chance it will work for a day or two. And yes ive had this exact issue on 3 different androids. Htc and samsung. --- |

A problem i have is that my apps dont auto update, this has followed me across 3 phones and its consistant on wifi and cellular. The benefits of android seems nice but i dont really utilize them. Emulators? Touchscreen controls for consoles/handhelds sucks and if i use a controller i may as well use my laptop. Custom roms? But why though? Customise the uo? The default ui for android, samsung, ios is all fine, no need for me to customise. Dont use the stylus of my note 10+. The only custom apps i have installed that arent on the app store are a 4chan app and a manga reader, of which i would miss both but i can just use a website instead. Whereas with ios you get a more premium experience all around, shit doesnt just break like the apps auto update on android and i can use an apple watch which is far superior to the samsung gear s3. Thoughts? --- |
