The number of confirmed cases could be 10x larger, and these cases could have been going on since December, but now that we are tracking them, everything seems deadlier. Im not going to buy into this panic that I shouldnt go to a park, the beach, or any restaurant, because man...I live in Florida and its in the 80s right now, and its beautiful out. My job has been destroyed by this virus. I dont have work until May, and even my clients in May are nervous and may cancel, which would put me out of work until July. Then in July I have senior adult clients flying overseas to the UK. Some of those clients have cancelled cruises we set up in September in Alaska. In freaking Alaska. No trips I set up are safe. My doctor made a great point in that maybe this virus started all over in December, and was just first noticed to be deadliest in a filthy place, aka fish market in China. Then it spread rapidly there, while all of a sudden popped up in Iran, and then Italy. Now its just being tracked, and the hysteria is causing more panic, heartache, and eventual death then the actual virus. If this virus doesnt go over 50-100k dead, it will be the same as every other flu. The flu sucks and kills every year, but should we shut down all of the world every February/March now? Again, experts are saying 150 million infected. They say that because theyd rather over exaggerate and be wrong. It gets covered by news outlets cause it sounds the scariest, where the doctor whos level headed and says it will affect a lot, but dont be fearful will get plays on some moms Facebook page. I have a wife to support, who doesnt have a job of her own because of health issues, and Id rather work in the travel industry to afford her medication, then cower and shut myself in as she suffers from the lack of medication. Will I put myself at risk at getting the virus and bringing it home? Sure, every day is a risk. My Uber could crash next week in NYC, my bus could wreck in Gettysburg, I could get horribly hurt crossing the street in a busy city.
