It is my honest belief that if the House and Senate got comfortably flooded with moderates Dems it would be the excuse to be as moderate or even slightly right leaning as they want under a Biden presidency.

Most of these people are only being progressive as a front to build a base and get their butts in a chair. Without a truly progressive leader at the to lead the way, they will stick to the easy path.

Maybe that's far too cynical of me.

I think he was saying that (even with) Biden in the White House, the progressive movement would have a lot more power than the possible alternative with Trump in the White House.

It is a very optimistic way of looking at things, but I like it!

it really isn't.
it was made clear in 2016 and their actions thus far have all pointed to this. trump means they keep power and they can at the least keep playing as underdogs. bernie means they're out of power, have become ineffective, outdated, and cuts into everything they've built.

No political party actually wants to be accountable

If all the people that had endorsed Biden today endorsed Bernie, him and his fanbase would have been very happy about it. The progressive movement isn't about excluding people who would join to fight for the rights of others.

It wouldnt make any ideological sense for any of those people to endorse Bernie though.

Theyre Democrats. They believe in Democratic Party ideals as they currently are. Bernie is an outsider from a party that doesnt currently exist in America using the Democratic Party to achieve campaign legitimacy.

Like, there does not exist a world where Amy Klobuchar endorses Bernie Sanders over Joe Biden

Bernie has had far more resources than any of the candidates, Biden included. If he can't beat him hes not strong.

My one caveat on this would be if he comfortably beats Biden in the Rust Belt but Biden cleans up in Red States, that would be a bad form of strength for Biden
