Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky - Sky of Twilight at 8.2 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! This one doesn't really do it for me for some reason. It's definitely not bad, at least. Lefty likes to complain about songs being disjointed. I don't think I typically agree... I guess I see his point here. I love Serpent Devouring which I know he hates. This I suppose is kind of held back by this style. It's not a huge issue, probably just one piece that helps prevent the whole from being completed. Hmm, maybe parts feel like bad Vocaloid instrumentals to me.

WildStar - The Cold Science of Supremacy at 7.8 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! I've listened to this song so many times because I know Ermine really loves it and I want to like it too, or at least figure out what he likes. And it never sticks. I literally have no idea what this is going to sound like almost every time I go to listen to it. It's like a science fiction plot or Memento where I'm cursed to drink dumb bitch juice every time I finish hearing it. It's not bad. It's not even unremarkable. It's even kind of cool! I just, for whatever reason, cannot retain this song.

Phantasy Star Online Episode III - IDOLA The Strange Fruits at 9.9 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! Fuck I love this song so much. I'd listened to Episodes I and II and loved them, but didn't realize there was more until Mycro showed me Modeseven's cover of it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSa3uUMwv8s), and I was confused, thinking I had heard the original but for some reason never saved it. This is probably the song I seek out to listen the most often. It's just so. When the instruments fall out and the choir starts at 1:03 and the piano at 1:27 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Also the characters in the video are named Castor and Pollux and star names are always good to reference (i don't care if it's also mythology shut up)

Deemo - RE:UNION -Duo Blade Against- at is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! This is a little more rhythmy than I think I expect from Deemo. Seems more like a generic song of a particular category of bemani music (or listening to it further, pop'n might be a better fit). Still not a bad example at all of that type of song. The ending makes me want to listen to .

Rewrite - Beyond the Darkness at 8.2 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! This is "pleasant". I like the little horn sections. Honestly this song is anomalous in that I feel it could beat any of my favorites and I wouldn't be upset. You can't be angry at this song.

Lost in Shadow - Hinagiku at 8.6 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! This is almost pleasant in the same way as Beyond the Darkness. It aims for an adjacent aesthetic, one I find more appealing. A vibe I'll dub "childhood mystery". If I had to guess the game's plot, I'd say that a kid discovers something intriguing and unknown, maybe something like an E.T. deal, and tries to investigate and explore it. The song tells me, or at least is trying to tell me, that the game is poignant and nostalgic. I'll give this song a lot of props for making me hear a story in it.

Metal Masters - Metal Beat at 8.1 is my ???th favorite retiree in the contest!! I'll master your metal...

Pinball Fantasies - steelchambers2 at RANKING SPOIELRS!!!!! is my ???th favorite retiree in the contest!! I can say I like it more than Metal Beat. It should be no surprise than Amiga > Chiptune for me

Most spoilery: This guide is well-organized and the best for finding out what you need to have done when, but they way it's sorted by grouping together all of each collectible/quest (eg, all of the quartz you can get are in the same section, all of the weapons are together, etc) instead of chronologically when you'd get it makes it more difficult for avoiding any spoilers. It's the worst for the quest section, where it tells you plainly and all-at-once what options you need to choose for max BP.

I just replayed it a couple of weeks ago so i've become very well-acquainted with all of these

And some general advice:
Count how many chests you get and double-check in each area and compare it with the counts the guides give you to make sure you miss none. There is a chest in Mistwald that disappears when you get far enough in the Prologue. Probably get that one early (I do not know why this is the only disappearing chest in the game). Similarly, there is a food item that Abend Bar only sells after the Prologue ends that is easily missable. No other store changes stock like this (at least as far as I remember).

If you really want to be thorough, compare what you have to the information the third guide gives you at each of its "checkpoints" to make sure you didn't miss anything.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX - at 9.1 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! Basically the OG, which is very good, except slightly less good. Dunno if that's just because nostalgia and that I'm used to the original or if I like the DS instruments more or if this version actually does lack some impact. The bongos it added (or at least improved so you can actually hear) are good.

Touhou 4: Lotus Land Story - at 8.1 is my favorite Touhou in the contest! Good as Touhous go.

SimCity 4 - at 9.2 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! Except for the parts with just the "aehhh" instrument this is super good. Weirdly... worldly for a city theme? I don't think I can really explain why I like it so much. Great outro too.

Opoona - at 8.5 is my ???th favorite song in the contest! Almost kind of has PSO2 vibes at times, idk. The piano at :08 reminds me of something that I can't place. I don't really have much to say except that it's nice.

Rivals of Aether - (7 ) at 8.3 is my ???th favorite retiree in the contest!! Unlike Sky Tower, I definitely support the original over this. Oddly enough, something about this version specifically reminds me of either version of Sky Tower. Still a good song, at least.

Hey Mycro, I have a minor suggestion for the compatibility sheet... I know this isn't the main purpose of it, but it would be nice if we had an (updatable) list ranking all the users by Win %. Last year I got frustrated trying to figure out who had the highest win %!

Bracket A is done, eh? (hey that rhymed!) I have exactly a 2/3 win rate in this bracket so far, and ranked 15th in win %. This is SO much better than last year around this time where I had like a 53% win rate and ranked like 40th.

I just realized I have a huge "darkness" obsession in this VGMC, heh. I nominated Beyond the Darkness, Dark Man Stage, and Second Dark Matter Battle! What can I say? Dark music is awesome! the best part is i even got the dlc to work for all three games so i can swap between EVO soundtrack and the original soundtracks on the fly. guides online made it seem like that had to be done through specific patches or modding and you could only pick one or the other.
