Of course this sort of argument rapidly breaks down in any real scenario.

That's why I tried to clarify that most of the time in the real world when you see this sort of "colorblindness" stance it's a false facade of legitimacy behind which hides something that's obviously racist.

That's a different thing than trying to classify as racist a belief which by assumption/definition doesn't have anything to do with race at all, which is both factually untrue and is going to make talking about these problems harder in the future.

You are operating under a different definition of racism than I am if this fits that definition.

Now, this type of phrasing is often used to overlook or deny the presence of implicit biases and other more overtly racist things, all of which lead to significant effects at the societal level, but that's different from calling that belief framework itself racist. (Now, this also isn't a belief I think it's actually possible to hold anyways, but yeah)

I don't know the details of this specific case, but I believe outsourcing some animation work to Chinese companies is relatively common in the industry now.

(No I don't think the virus is bad in Japan now. The WHO says there are about 50 confirmed cases there but I'm guessing that means it isn't interfering with daily life there)

Well I don't know how it fares as an adaptation since I never played the game, but the 2006 anime was great as a standalone watch, and is generally well-regarded by the fanbase.

The False Faces anime (adaptation of Mask of Deception) on the other hand is probably the most hated VN adaptation I know of outside of maybe Umineko, though I didn't watch that one so I can't confirm for myself.

I can't speak to the first game, but the anime adaptation was great, and the 2nd and 3rd games are some of my favorite works of fiction, period. (Moreso the third but the Mask games are effectively one story anyway)

I will say that while I support "Medicare for All" in a general sense, any plan which eliminates private insurance without regulating other aspects of the industry (drug companies, etc) would most likely be dead-on-arrival as far as my support goes.

This is a subject I'm relatively ignorant on so no, I don't know what is and is not currently being proposed at any level of detail.

1. Happens regularly. Pretty much all those jobs are appointed jobs. He isn't forcing democratic senators to resign under the threat of death or something lol. Or arresting them.

I admit I don't know enough about past administrations to know how common this is, but this trend of actively firing people and re-filling every government position with sycophants and yes-men is extremely concerning to me and also would be under any other president.

Also I will mention that I do believe Trump would be jailing Democrats if he thought he could get away with it. "Lock her up" was a part of his 2016 election campaign after all, which I view as part of a long-term effort to legitimize this sort of thing in the eyes of the public. (To be clear, this is some speculation on my part and we are a long way off from this regardless, so I don't weight this very highly)

3. I don't see how this relates to destroying democracy. It has little to do with democracy beyond possibly undercovering information for an election? More information might help a democracy make a better informed decision. Whether you think this was right or wrong doesn't seem to show destroying a democracy however.

As LotM said, if an elected official is able to use the powers of the office they hold to aid their own re-election, then the election is no longer fair.

4. Has given more for the press than any other president in history. Pretty undebatable. Lying or not, is usually open to interpretation as you see Chris railing at CNN when it says Bernie is lying. It is up to the American public to decide what they believe or not and vote how they feel. Spun information and biased information happens nonstop in politics, and I can't see how it is destroying the democracy. Anyone who states an opinion with a different interpretation is destroying democracy at that point.

An election that is decided based on false or misleading information is not a fair election. I don't think Trump is the only person who's ever put out misleading ads or stories, but the frequency of his lies and the way he actively attempts to de-legitimize any source of information other than the ones singing his praises is unprecedented in American politics, to my knowledge.

Also I will just state that point 2, the one you have ignored due to lack of knowledge, is probably the most damning one in my eyes.

MAL finally introduced some scheme to combat rating trolls (https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1824703) trying to manipulate scores on the website. Chihayafuru S3 now the #2 airing anime oh yes.

Also last night's episode of Chihayafuru was spectacular. It's stunning how much Shinobu and Suo have grown on me over the past couple episodes, and the two challengers were always great. In particular looking for more of this Chihaya/Shinobu friendship development. Season 3 continuing to raise the bar for a show that was already stellar to begin with.

Leon is correct about the Crossbell arc according to an interview with Kondo that I don't have readily available but can try to find when I get home. (Though when they decided to do it at all, I think they treated it on sort of "equal standing" with the other arcs, though that's just my speculation)

That being said, I don't think he's right about the arc names necessarily being transportation themed because in addition to Crossbell, I believe the Japanese title for the Cold Steel arc isn't related to transportation and the railroad connection only came up in the localized title.

To clarify, Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth are the sequel games, which are SRPG's with a very, very heavy emphasis on story. (Many consider them primarily visual novels. At least 1 hour of dialogue/story between battles is normal and sometimes it's much more than that.) The remake of the first game has the subtitle "Prelude to the Fallen".

Utawarerumono Zan is a non-mainline musou game that I think covers the same story content as Mask of Deception, though I'm guessing it will be in a reduced capacity. There's also a gacha game that isn't available in English anyways, but the title of that one is Utawarerumono: Lost Flag.

I will say the gameplay gets noticeably better as the series goes on if only because it goes faster. It might still feel same-y though, regardless. (Also you won't see any of that in 3rd, in which combat is pretty much the same as in FC/SC. I am mostly referring to the Cold Steel games here)

I think 3rd is very good and one of the best in the series (still behind SC which is my #1). However it's a somewhat polarizing game because of the unusual format the game uses.

Also yes shine's post is good as far as explaining what all the different sub-series are. Each arc focuses on a different cast of main characters but you will still see characters from other parts of the series. (Olivier has a reasonably important role in the Cold Steel arc, for example.)

I went through the list of retirees and I only found 3 that I considered outright bad. I don't know every retired track from memory even after reading the name, but I do remember at least a majority of them so I'd say that's a pretty low rate. Though, the list would become much larger if I were to expand it to songs I just feel lukewarm on.
