Homer was dumb, but smart enough to actually want people who knew what the fuck they were doing to be working with him and under him, so they could do all the work and succeed and he could then claim that success as his own.

Trump isn't even that smart. He just wants sycophants who sing his praises, regardless of their merit.

Kavanaugh seemed to be a disturbed individual on a personal level and quick to anger, plus just...really obsessed with drinking. But his judicial record didn't seem too bad.
Gorsuch (spelling?) was the one that concerned me w/ how he'd rule, given his past ruling where he was the lone (insane) dissenting vote in a case where a driver stuck w/ a broken down truck in the middle of winter in the upper midwest, facing like -50 degree overnight temps, left the truck to find help rather than wait there and possibly die. The company fired him, he took it to court. Every judge except Neil sided w/ the truck driver. That kind of outright heartlessness and 100% towing the line for corporations against employees was concerning. Not to mention his seat was stolen from Garland and he shouldn't even fucking be there.

How the hell is this going back to the lower courts to be battled out some more?

Trump's already lost every single legal battle across the lower courts, which led to it reaching the Supreme Court at all.

It's fucking incredible that he could actually drag this out in court so fucking long that it isn't finally over until the re-election vote has already been made. Four fucking years! Our system seems to be a bit broken.... There's checks and balances and appeals, and then there's just straight up road blocking justice.

Now? lolwut? It's NEVER been appropriate to shoot at cops. Attacking members of law enforcement has been banned by every government that every existed and likely every government that ever will exist. The only gray area is when law enforcement fails to identify themselves, but the sign explicitly endorses violence against cops so that goes out the window.

What's pathetic is an inability to understand why advocating shooting a person's own coworkers is bad.
What's pathetic is you intentionally missing the words "protestors" and shooting "back". She wasn't advocating for people to just go murder cops. She was talking about all the innocent people that cops have fired upon.
The same side that defends owning assault weapons and massive stockpiles of guns and talks about "armed resistance" if the government ever tries to take their guns then turns around and says it's wrong to shoot at government agents (cops) that fired upon you first, because now the group in question isn't theirs.

The Indian Removal Act (ethnic cleansing of Native Americans, and the brutal march that killed so many on the way) and outright ignoring the Supreme Court's ruling that the Cherokee shouldn't be forced out.
Extremely brutal towards slaves even compared to others of his time (offering bonus rewards on captured escaped slaves if the captors beat/whipped them before turning them in)

Yeah, I did. I listed some other examples that are still around, and the fact he thought hiring Bolton was a good idea in the first place is damning of his judgment. No one can claim who he will or won't hire in the future with absolute certainty. But based on who he's hired and who's still around, you should have ZERO faith in him actually keeping his word on not hiring more people like Bolton.

Not to mention, "learning from his mistake" just isn't something Trump does. He doubles down. He doesn't change.

It's a useful term for when people seem unwilling to admit anything he did was okay. e.g, not wanting to hire people like John Bolton in his second term again is a good thing. Yet pointing this out makes people think I must really like Trump or something, even when I explicitly say otherwise. I think he's probably the worst president from the last 80 years besides Reagan, George W. Bush, and Richard Nixon. I would put him a notch below Bill Clinton.

Realizing that Trump is bad doesn't automatically make the quote in question bad though. It suggests a specific change for what he would do in his second term -- not hire people like John Bolton -- and that change would be an improvement. Not hiring warmongers is obviously good, so this would be an improvement over his first term. He has a rambling style of speech, but it's ludicrous to claim that the quote in question is a sign of dementia.
He already hired Bolton.
Pompeo is still there.
That lady that destroyed the evidence of our use of torture is still the CIA head.

He's still chock full of neocon war hawks and will continue to accrue them, don't let him continuously bull shit you.

And Trump has done a few good things (kill the Trans-Pacific trade agreement, move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, uh...probably a few others but damn it's hard to think of them) and in some other cases has the right goal but just goes about it fucking stupidly (most notably his jousts w/ China about trade imbalance, currency manipulation, concerns about Huawei, etc...).
But it is completely and utterly dwarfed by all the negatives.
