I've heard the show is actually really good now from the people I know who still watch. The Whisperers arc is supposedly as good as the prison season, and this is coming from people who also say the time they were staying in Alexandria is the worst of the show (which is when most of the audience stopped watching).

The amount of people on Twitter that are full scale buying into this is honestly... Depressing. Like all it takes is some people to just say a thing and the whole world blows it up without even bothering to care.

Nothing is really done to quell it. The algorithm ensures that anything getting a lot of attention gets catapulted into popularity. Stupid and nonsensical subjects tend to get a lot of attention regardless - not just on Twitter, but in general - but having it hit trending and pushing comments corroborating it to the top makes it even worse.

For Twitter not being a free speech platform, there's a whole lot of nothing being done to stop the conspiracy hive minds.

i got all the way up to the final dungeon and quit, because it required you to use a specific character in each different level of the dungeon, and i had really only leveled up the main character any significant amount at that point. i was pretty pissed that it was structured that way with no indication that it would be like that. bad game design imo.

You really only need the one character for most of the game. The others almost entirely exist for those obstacles, and it was kind of annoying to switch to them every time just for that.

I saw it in theaters after hearing good things, and walked away in awe. Two of the three previous Mad Max movies are already great, but Fury Road was just unreal.

It has possibly the greatest action driving scenes I've ever seen, has minimal CGI...and came out in the 2010s of all times.

There's a part in the book where the main character theorizes that the game's creator was one of those socially awkward people who throws geeky references at other people in the hope that they'll get it and like him.

But the thing is, that's exactly what I felt like the author was doing with the novel itself. I love pop culture and references to it, but stories built on references just don't work for me.

This is what I don't understand. Every criticism and observation about Tik Tok's data-gathering tech is also present and applies to social media in the west as well. Facebook and Twitter are the same way. I think part of it is also knee-jerk reactions hating stuff "the kids are into these days".

The Wii U Shop is still active and popular, though. That's one of the reasons why they haven't unloaded a shitload of games on Switch, because one of their biggest flops is still churning out money on the retro side.

But having them on a streaming service works better than the VC, but I have no idea what the plan is once Wii U is taken offline. There should be some sort of account carry-over of previous purchases, but that probably won't happen.

Not true. I was the hardest and fastest working person when I worked there for seven years (every other employee told me this), and management would still come by and yell at me/us wanting to know why the job wasn't done yet. They asked way too much of people. We had several people start there who came from construction or factories who said working at Walmart was worse.

But since it is a McJob, it's not worth staying for. But at the same time, staying there too long makes you feel worthless.

Jumping on the marching cards was the absolute worst thing in the game for me. I didn't have much problem with most of the other mini-bosses in that stage, but I couldn't get the rhythm of that part down.

That's where it started, at least.

Basically, they made a troll post saying it's rooted in slavery. Some gullible people on the internet actually took it seriously, even though most people knew it was obviously fake.

Then the alt right started using it to "troll the dumb libs" by thinking they're pretending to be racist, even though by doing so jokingly and hiding behind the "I'm just being ironic" defense, they're still basically being racist by association. So now that it has prevalent usage within a racist subculture, NOW it's officially considered a racist gesture.
