Do they get charged or do they not actually qualify due to them not actually having

Im not really clear on why this shit isnt instant jail time, those chat logs are pretty fucking disturbing and damning.

Most of the time they get off completely free because the idiots doing these "stings" don't have a good enough understanding of the law to avoid entrapment.

Hopefully, at the very least, the close shave is enough to scare the creeps away from ever trying again.

Why was the flame near it anyway?

It wasn't. That flare tower was not the ignition source for the leak. The ignition originated just below the rocket itself.

EDIT: Also, for the record, as he goes into later on in the video above it does seem as though the rockets itself and its test went perfectly. It was likely an issue when they went to de-fuel what was left in the tanks after the test was completed. Most likely a procedure mistake (opening a valve too fast/soon or too much pressure in a fuel evacuation line, something like that) and not actually a problem with the rocket itself.

It always saddens me how ignorant people are on this stuff.

There's no reason the crew should be worried tomorrow because of this. It's an entirely different rocket, with entirely different systems, using entirely different mechanisms. The one they're going up on tomorrow has been thoroughly tested and vetted dozens of times and has had quite a few successful launches already.

It's like saying you should be worried about driving a 2010 Ford F-150 because a 2020 Ford Focus crashed yesterday. The only way they're related is that it's the same company. That's literally it.

Wow, that sucks. I'd demolish the place tbh at that point, just say fuck everything and everyone. Give those corporate shits a pile of rubble to come home to.

I mean, I'm not going to commit arson just because the owner turned out to be a prick.

But if I do get rejected, you can bet your ass I'll be spending the next 2 weeks letting all of my regulars know exactly what's going down and recommending they find a new store to go to. I'm sure the corporate ownership won't even notice. It'll just be a drop in the bucket for them. But it'll make me feel better, so that's something.

The owner didn't give anybody any notice whatsoever that he was even thinking about it, let alone giving anyone a chance to make an offer for the business. Andrea, the manager, is pretty furious. I believe corporate takes over in like 2 weeks.

I now have to apply for the job I've been doing for over 3 years. We are not being given any priority over any of the other random applicants, which means there's a very good chance none of us will be kept on since we've all earned several raises in our time here and corporate will be able to replace us all with new people at minimum wage.

I always knew the owner was incompetent. I never considered him to be a scummy backstabbing piece of shit before, though. Especially given how he absolutely refused to fire anybody for any reason because they'd been employed for a while and he claimed "they're family now, and family looks out for each other." And yes, that is a direct quote that I have heard come out of his mouth.

Fuck him. And fuck corporate. I'm putting in an application because the job is easy and has its perks, but I'm also gonna start looking for a better one. This just really sucks because for the first time in my life I've had some semblance of stability and been able to start properly saving up an emergency fund. I'm gonna have to keep a very close eye on myself for a while, 'cause I'm pretty nervous that this might end up being a big trigger for my depression to come back strong. I've done so well to keep it in check for a while now, and I don't want to lose that progress. :-/

Just because you cant come up with a counterargument doesnt mean its nonsense.

No, it's nonsense because you just spouted a bunch of meaningless drivel with no evidence whatsoever to back up your claim.

You don't know that space is infinite. Nobody does. In fact, nobody actually knows for certain that the observable universe isn't the entirety of existence. Kind of by the nature of it being unobservable. It doesn't simply mean "unseen" in the obvious sense of visual stimulus. It's unobservable in the sense that anything beyond that horizon literally cannot have any impact at all on us. It is so far away that nothing that happens or doesn't happen in that region is physically capable of influencing us in any way whatsoever, even on a subatomic level. Whether or not there is more "stuff" outside of our observable universe is really an irrelevant question. If it's there, we can never interact with it in any way, so what's the difference?

And you ask "why would there be only one" Big Bang as if that's some obvious truth? Well...why would there be more than one?

so space is expanding into.... space? that doesn't really make any sense

That's because he has no idea what he's talking about on even the most basic level. I don't exactly have a PhD in astrophysics myself, but I've always been fascinated by it and tried to keep up to date on major theories and such.

The best way I can wrap my head around it personally is to think of the universe as a line of boxes. This line can be as long as you want it to be, finite or infinite is up to your personal stance. But the universe has an ability to insert another box in between any pair of boxes in that line. It can do this constantly and those new boxes become identical to the rest of the boxes. So once that new box has been inserted, the universe can then insert another box between the new one and the "old" ones on its left and right. This is constantly extending the line of boxes, but all of the "new space" is being created inside of the original space.

Yes thats true. But that doesnt mean that whats beyond the edge doesnt exist

Well, kind of by definition of the term "edge"....yeah, it does. At least in this hypothetical. If there was something beyond that, we wouldn't have called it the edge and we would have simply chosen a point further out in the area you call "beyond" to start our hypothetical travel from.

I'm just explaining that simply because we can't reach the "edge" it is not in any way evidence that there is no edge. There is really no way for us to ever know if the universe is finite or infinite. What we can say is that what we can observe is finite. And so the belief that the universe as a whole may be finite is a perfectly acceptable belief.

Dodging again. What do you think is at the edge of the observable universe preventing something from leaving? Pogo_marimo just cant comprehend this.

Space doesn't have to be infinite to prevent something from leaving it. Space may be finite, but we know that it is expanding. And if it is expanding at a rate faster than anything within that space can move, then nothing within that space will ever be able to reach the edge in the first place. You could pick a spot and move 1000 lightyears towards the "edge", but if that edge has expanded 1001 lightyears in that time, you'll be 1 lightyear further from the edge than when you started.

EDIT: I keep forgetting the format tags don't work anymore. :-/

Yes. That's literally what I said. You feel obligated to stay in, because you DO have SOMETHING. And then you will usually lose because 2's is an incredibly weak something. So you will lose more money than if you had just folded.

Hence it being a "trap."

Nobody's trying to literally say that 2-7 offsuit is a "better hand" than pocket 2's. It's just an easier hand to play, because you can very easily make the decision to fold without second-guessing yourself.

He even explained it in the OP. Pocket 2's is a trap hand. You feel obligated to stay in, because you do have something, but it's such a garbage something that you're most likely going to lose anyway. And now you've lost more money than simply folding, which you would likely do with something like a 2-7 offsuit.

Pretty sure my 4th birthday was a bowling party. I joined my first league when I was 9. Have been bowling in tournaments and leagues ever since. Finished this last (shortened) season with a 222 average.

I think it's in the blood. I grew up in bowling alleys. My parents met in a bowling alley. My god-father was my dad's bowling teammate for something like 30 years. I worked in a bowling alley as one of my first jobs. I've met 3 different girlfriends through bowling leagues. Hell, my first kiss was at the bowling alley.

I frankly feel more at home in a bowling alley than I do at my actual house sometimes. It's really depressing that I can't go bowling right now. :-(

For what it's worth, I bought an MSI a little over 2 years ago and it has been absolutely fantastic. I have a rather poor opinion on Lenovo laptops as I've owned 2 in the past and they both were pieces of crap that constantly had hardware problems. One had bad latches like your friend's, and the other seemed like every port and jack and drive on the thing broke at least once. But neither of them were from their gaming lines, so take it with a grain of salt like you would any personal experience stories.

Either way, don't listen to the idiots who keep saying "it'll break in a year." How long it lasts is entirely down to how well you treat it. Make sure you're getting a really nice carrying bag if you ever plan to take it anywhere outside your apartment, though. Proper padding and room for any accessories (mouse/pad, adapter cords, etc) are an absolute must.
