Jesus Christ this argument from from Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez about whether or not to postpone Wrestlemania until they can make it a huge event.

Bryan says that since WWE has sucked so much as making empty arena shows that they should just get Wrestlemania over with so they can move on after the crisis of over.

Meltzer says that WWE should postpone Wrestlemania so it means something and Drew McIntyre can get his big win in front of a giant crowd instead of in an empty arena where nobody will care, and that they should keep stretching things out until then. He also said in this argument he does not care if this argument is killing the audience because "I know I'm right."

I think I agree with Bryan. At least AEW is doing unique stuff with their empty arena shows. WWE has had a static camera and is just replaying matches. AEW is even setting up for non-empty arena matches like street fights and such. AEW is trying and I guess WWE has given up trying to make an empty arena work.

Still in quarantine work from home in the San Francisco Bay.

My boss told me not to worry about my job even if it's slow. Currently, I worked five hours yesterday, and that's with stretching my work out. I dunno how it will be today but I'm almost done with work 2 and a half hours in.

Fortunately my lawfirm has really good morals and they have the money to withstand this, and I happen to be the only paralegal so it makes no sense to let me go and then rehire, but it's still a shitty time.

Stu Grayson's gimmick is just a crazy cult member who FUCKING LOVES to fight. The referee made him break the pin because his leg was under the rope and he just stalked the referee and laughed in his face. Dude is cool and outstanding in the ring too. I highly recommend checking out his match with Daniels to see what he is capable of.

I've only been watching AEW for the past two weeks straight to catch up, so it hasn't been weird for me! But Dynamite tomorrow won't have a crowd. They'll just be performing in the empty arena apparently. No idea what they'll do after that.

I heard Orlando might even shut down Wrestlemania at the PC because they don't want a large number of people in any location like that.

AEW Dark Spoilerz. Don't read if you follow it.

AEW Dark is seriously just a tremendously fun wrestling show. There's at least one awesome match weekly on this show and I look forward to following it now that I'm caught up on all things AEW!

I forgot how much fun Colt Cabana is in the ring. He's just so much fun. He had a nice, enjoyable match with Peter Avalon and won.

JACK EVANS WINS A MATCH (with Angelico)! Finally. They beat Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa and the match was mostly centered around Nakazawa's oil gimmick? I dunno. Nakazawa is weird. But TH2 is just so much fun to watch when they're rolling. Jack Evans is legit one of the best.

I feel like Riho is just being used to put people over now that she's no longer champ. She lost to Penelope Ford, who I actually really like. Riho is really, really good but doesn't do a whole lot for me aside from being great in the ring. This was probably the weakest match while still being a really good match.

The main event was Christopher Daniels vs. Stu Grayson and Stu Grayson is actually really awesome. I mean, Christopher Daniels has still never lost a step despite his age and he's still just outrageously good, but Stu Grayson is totally awesome too and it's a shame he's kind of in the role of "The Other Guy" in Dark Order. I mean, the guy screams "THIS IS FUN!" while he does a dive. He's pretty badass. Daniels wins after a great exchange and then I guess we're getting Daniels vs. Evil Uno tomorrow on Dynamite where the Exalted One will appear, which Daniels is convinced does not exist.

I am very excited for Dynamite tomorrow. It's weird being excited to see a wrestling show again.

Another thing I've noticed and loved about AEW.

Even though there are clear jobbers in AEW, they don't ever really feel like it. It's something I've always said I hated about WWE is that there are clearly jobbers who you cannot care about at all and I always feel like even the lowest card guys should be people you ought to care about. Most of the times they do this by having them be legitimately competitive with most people. Even a guy like Peter Avalon can look competitive. They make Brandon Cutler and QT Marshall look like all stars each time they lose. Sonny Kiss also shows a ton of uniqueness each time he loses too. Like, just from trying to catch up from this year I have a solid idea of each jobber here and actually care about them.

Alex Silver - Dark Order Goon Squad
Angelico - TH2 guy with a nasty attitude and flashy moves but kind of pales in comparison to Jack Evans
Brandon Cutler - DnD guy who regularly tears it up each time he loses.
Jack Evans - TH2 guy the biggest loudmouth that does some of the flashiest moves
John Silver - Dark Order Goon Squad
Marko Stunt - Tiny dude who does the dumb dancing and such
Peter Avalon - The Librarian who is obnoxious and regularly gets close to weaseling out a win
QT Marshall - Guy who tries really, really hard but usually falls short
Shanna - Kind of a badass nerd who feuded with freaking Nyla Rose and put her through a table. Took Nyla to the limit
Sonny Kiss - Incredibly athletic and regularly gets close to wins

Like I'd watch most of these guys in matches before I ever want to watch a WWE match with their jobbers.

But further to that idea, I'd actually like a more expanded rankings system for AEW with maybe a top 10 so you can see who might be trying to climb the ladder rather than all of a sudden someone is on the top five out of nowhere.

AEW does something very well and that's get over some people with some very real stuff. Santana's promo after the eye gouge and then his subsequent promo about his father being blind was absolutely great and it instantly helped separate Santana from Ortiz (who is pretty great in his own right as a fucking crazy dude).

Supposedly the other team working on the Silent Hill reboot is Project Siren, the team behind the Siren series and Gravity Rush. I'm a bit... tentative on that. Siren, while thematically a great series, from a gameplay perspective is notoriously clunky.

Notoriously clunky? Sounds like it will be in line with every Silent Hill game in the past 15 years!

I don't disagree that JR should be trying to get it over, but I can understand his difficulty doing so since I think the gimmick is just bad.

And I would argue it's much dumber than Undertaker's gimmick. With Undertaker they actually bothered to go all in on saying he's some demonic force controlled by an urn and whatnot and the presentation is all there. With Statlander they just give her a bit of face paint and tell us she's an alien. I think that if they want us to buy into this idea, they need to do more with it.

So okay I haven't seen enough of JR burying shit to really involve myself in this conversation.

I did want to say I think Kris Statlander's alien gimmick is kind of dumb and I don't really get it. I like some of the cute stuff like the nose boop, but for the most part I don't really get it and it doesn't do a whole lot for me. I feel like I would be more into it if she had gone all out with the alien thing but she just sort of has awkward facepaint.

I dunno. I'm not really sold on her. And I can see why JR wouldn't be sold on her either, because no matter what Excalibur says, I'm still having a hard time buying into Statlander and her gimmick.

On the flipside, they had Abaddon on AEW Dark against against Hikaru Shida who is supposed to be an undead wrestler and the facepaint and her mannerisms all reflected that and it was a legitimately fun match too. And I have no idea who the fuck Abaddon is aside from this match.

I've heard JR is "When he cares, he's great, when he doesn't, god help Tony and Excalibur." Don't know if that is still the case.

I feel this is accurate, but I don't feel like he doesn't care often. That said, I think JR at his most fired up for story stuff is better than Taz, but Taz is so good for a mostly pure wrestling show like AEW Dark.

I'm glad I've been catching up with AEW again though. It's been a ton of fun.

Yeah, they have some storylines attached to the AEW Dark stuff too. Like the Shanna and Nyla Rose stuff was really good. Shawn Spears tag team variety tour has been enjoyable too. I think Shawn Spears has been very underrated too. That guy knows how to play a crowd and make matches fun.

It also helps get another dose of Best Friends and Orange Cassidy sometimes, which is reason enough alone to check it out.

I think it's more fair to say that Charlotte and Ronda burying an entire division, and to a lesser extent Alexa, is why nobody has been able to show any sort of dominance at a meaningful level. Like, what's even the point to ever care about any of these women if they can't even show off during an Elimination Chamber? You can't convince me the best move to make Shayna look dominant is by having her bury everyone in an Elimination Chamber.

They let fucking Lince Dorado of all people look like a freaking all star in his elimination chamber. They made everyone in the Women's chamber look like shit except for Shayna. The fact that nobody cares about the Riott Squad or Natalya is an indictment of just how shitty that entire division has been treated in the first place. Nobody is competitive, and the one match they could actually at least look a little bit competitive in, they have Shayna kill them each in two moves.

Why should anyone ever care about a single one of them ever again? Why should they even be allowed on TV again?
