So this is a fun story...

This was tweeted out with multiple other tweets.

Two African-American girls were missing. A woman supposedly tracked them to a house using a phone locator when police wouldn't help. They then had an angry mob go to the home. And shots were fired. Police responded to the scene due to the shots. According to how the story goes, the cops then smuggled out the people from the house. The mob then entered the house on their own after police said the girls weren't there and found and freed the girls themselves as police were shooting rubber bullets and tear gas at the mob trying to disperse them as they were saving the girls.

What really happened...

Angry mob insists that this house is where the girls are. Police checked the house multiple times looking for the girls and didn't find them. Shots were fired at some point. Police responded again to the scene and checked again for the girls and didn't find them. Angry mob sets fire to the house. Fire department responding to the fire was attacked by angry mob. Police fire rubber bullets and tear gas at mob due to them attacking the fire department. Girls were found later on 3 miles away at a different location and weren't at the house. Family is displaced due to their house being burned down.

Defund the Police. I guess.

This has people locally in an uproar. Here are the counter arguments for it I have been seeing.

1. Cases are from protesters not patrons.

2. Wolf supported protests with no social distancing and is now cracking down on bars providing jobs to people.

3. How does having a soda or water instead of a beer change the covid-19?

4. Hospitalizations are still steadily falling in the area and not rising, yet wolf is overreacting and reinstituting bar bans.

5. People will just go over county lines to drink now and DUIs will rise.

6. Wolf is trying to force people to buy liquor from the state stores to increase state profits at expense of bars and restaurants.

Btw there is some arguments if the Cherokee did the drive by. Some are saying another vehicle did, the driver of the Cherokee panicked and crashed into a barricade trying to get away from the area, and then was shot up.

5th shooting there now. 16 year old is dead. "CHOP security" killed him. Details unknown. No one cooperating with police. Crime scene impossible to analyze due to vehicle being ransacked after the shooting.

There's a report from some anonymous sources that Trump is considering withdrawing from the race because he thinks his chances are not good. I think it's not impossible - Trump would rather say that he retired because he achieved his goal of making America great again than leave because he lost an election.

The report is from politico from an ex adviser. I doubt it's truth. That said, I said he should do this like 6 months ago.

In general it seems. I didn't mean to say the majority is against it. I am just saying people are. Not the majority are. I asked the one guy why he wouldn't get one cuz it seems dumb not to. At worst case to them, it is getting a vaccine against a virus that is not really a big deal. In best case it saves their life.

The one dude told me he isn't getting it because it is just another way for the government to control you.

Also have others that are reposting a message saying they won't get a vaccination either if available. Not sure they gave a reason.

In my town the people who wear masks is basically reduced to people in the medical field, store employees and elderly people. Its rare I see anyone with one otherwise. My town is pretty small though (like 9k people) with barely any cases so I guess everyone feels pretty safe or the whole thing has gone on for so long people just no longer care and if they get it they get it. The stores say its required via signs outside, but dont enforce it probably because somebody was literally murdered for doing so in my state....

Any restaurant that tried to enforce it in my area basically has irate people mother fuck them and go elsewhere and they end up relaxing their enforcement before long, from what I have gathered from people from work.

The only place I know enforcing it is a local pizza shop. When I picked up a pizza there they said I had to have a mask. I asked for curbside. They said no and just requested I lift my shirt over my face like a mask and come in. I did because it seemed reasonable if they were enforcing it for everyone.

The point of the mask is to keep it from spreading. If you unknowingly have the virus and are not wearing a mask, there's a higher chance you're getting others sick. So the percentage doesn't matter.

Why did you ask me a question if you just wanted to argue the answer?

I live in an area where Wendy Bell is like a Messiah. Where masks are the exception. Not the norm. Where they post signs not to come in without a mask at restaurants and bars and every single patron is maskless.

If I got the virus, it is because someone else who didn't have a mask gave it to me by not wearing it themselves. Thus, they have given it to those around me as well. I see little reason to worry about protecting others from infection who have no worries about spreading it to me or getting it themselves. When people were wearing them, I wore them everywhere (not that I really even go anywhere anyways). I was one of the only ones at my place of work who wore them. Once we went green. Relatively everyone shed them at once and our workplace even placed guidance telling us it was allowable to shed them. I only probably say 80% don't wear them because I am biased some towards closer to the yellow phase as again I don't go out much in public. It very well could be even higher by this point. I only know of a couple of people who wear them.

Of the couple who whine about wearing masks and following guidelines on my Facebook are themselves hypocrites anyways who broke lockdowns when it was convenient for them. Posted pictures getting fucked up at parties maskless while now crying to wear them now. The girl crying on Facebook to shutdown our T-ball and baseball leagues was none other than a girl who was "over the virus and gonna live her life" when it was her birthday "week" and was partying it up nonstop.

If everyone wears masks again then in the rare time I go out, I will wear them again.

The only time I have worn a mask outside has been when I went to the DMV a few days ago. The other 3 times this month I was in public I chose not to. At 5 Guys where absolutely 0 wore masks and people even sat in cordoned off tables, Walmart once, and at a bar I went to where not a single person had a mask on.

If it becomes a law, I will abide by it. While it remains a guideline that no one follows, I am not concerned about it.

As far as I am concerned, the virus is not containable without unrealistic responses (lockdowns) until a vaccine happens. Our goal is mitigation, not eradication, for that is unattainable. I live in an area with relatively no cases, in an area where no one cares about the guidelines.

Personally I can't help but judge those that don't as selfish assholes. (not directed at you, to be clear) The ones that really get to me are the ones that have a mask but are just holding in their hand or have it hanging off their ear. Like why do you even bother bringing it then?

And then there's couples or groups of people who come in yet only 1 of them is wearing a mask. Weird.

Because the point of masks is for everyone to be wearing them. If people are not, the masks are relarively useless. It only really works if everyone is bought in.

Well Florida is getting almost 10k cases a day now... while Pennsylvania which was hit much worse early on than most states and took strong preventative measures never broke 2k a day.

Pennsylvania only really got hit in one area of the state. Then locked it all down.

It's always been expected that the numbers are significantly lower than the confirmed cases. Most say 10-30x more. Which is good. It means mortality is a lot lower than expected and social distancing naturally happens due to already infecteds.

DC the nation's capitol could be shrunk to include just the White House/Congress and some thin strip of land connecting them, with Congress maintaining control over that area. The surrounding area then becomes DC the state, with no control over DC the capitol (and DC the capitol has no more control over DC the state than they would any other state).

So it could go back to the state it came from, sure. It was ceded for purpose of giving land to a federal district. Not for the purpose of expelling to create a new state.

Id like to say my opinion on this doesnt change based on the likely voting pattern of the place were making a state, but I have no way to prove that because for some reason were not disenfranchising any red areas.

The problem is the state could mandate something which shuts down the federal capitol.

If the DC governor mandates no meetings or gathering of over 3 people due to the Coronavirus, they could effectively shut down Congress and the White House.

There just is no reason for that possibility to exist.

My opinion doesn't change if DC is a red area. And my opinion is that Puerto Rico should be granted statehood if they choose to be a state even though they are likely a blue area.

The people who change their opinions based on the voting beholden to their party are the ones at issue.

President George Washington chose the exact site along the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers, and the city was officially founded in 1790 after both Maryland and Virginia ceded land to this new district, to be distinct and distinguished from the rest of the states.
