I don't know much of anything about the Turok series but I'll say Low Fodder for him. It's been over 10 years since the last game and I don't see much of anyone caring about the games today.

Ed Elric I say is Mid Fodder. He's the main protagonist of the series, but I think the sheer number of "fan favorite" characters from FMA causes Ed to get lost in the shuffle. And there hasn't been an actual FMA video game in a very long time.

Claptrap is Mid Fodder. He slightly edged out Lenneth in CB9, and I expect him to still be around there due to making appearances in every Borderlands game.

I think the Vesperia cast is memorable if anything, and I am not as down on characters like Karol or Estelle as most people. The plot and villains were a bit weak but still had plenty of stand-out moments. The chemistry and world building were good even though they paled in comparison to Symphonia and Abyss.

The battle system is aged but I think it's fine apart from feeling sluggish at times (I think it's mostly that Yuri himself isn't very fast, which is not really expected out of an MC).

Also agree with High Fodder for Pit. He looked to be about there in CB9, and I don't see a reason for him to have moved much.

I don't think the consensus on Tales of Vesperia is that its a bad game. The Gfaqs ratings on the Xbox version are good, and decent on Definitive Edition. But the main thing going against Yuri is that anyone who hasn't played Vesperia pretty much has no incentive to vote for him (unless he gets a really good pic and the voter thinks he's a lady). So I'll have to stick with Mid Fodder for him.

I agree with High Fodder for Terry. I argue he would have been mid fodder prior to the smash announcement, due to some limited nostalgia and the sheer amount of games he has been in (Fatal Fury, KoF, Capcom vs SNK). And AH YOO AWKAY?!

I say Fodder Line for Piccolo. He is a very well-liked side character who is always involved in the happenings of the show and doesn't "retire" from being a Z Fighter like the human characters. I think his depiction in DBZ abridged is very popular too.

Agree with Low Fodder for Freddy. Everyone knows him, but at this point the series fad has passed and I don't think there are many people on Gfaqs who care enough to anti-vote him.

? Block is High Fodder. It seemed ok in CB9, but there's going to be less support for joke characters today. I think it will be able to beat a lot of lesser fodder due to pure recognition. The block has been in a LOT of popular games after all.

Earthworm Jim I think can manage Mid Fodder. I don't think there's a huge amount of nostalgia for his games, but most people on Gfaqs should at least know him and his unique design should help get him some votes.

Shaggy is. . . High Fodder? I'm not too sure. Shaggy is iconic in his own right, and I think he is somewhat relate-able to Gfaqs. And I'm sure he will get memed a bit upon appearing in a match. Shaggy using 3% of his power is LAW tier.

Dr. Robotnik I think is Fodder Line. I think he does benefit from the boost enjoyed by Tails and some other classic characters, and looked like high fodder in CB9.

Marle is High Fodder. She looked to be about there way back in 2006 taking Square SSF into account. And high fodder is most likely the floor for CT party members.

Nightmare I say is High Fodder. He looked bad in CB9, but there was bad pic factor working against him there. Gfaqs likely doesn't care too much about the Soul series nowadays, but Nightmare is still the "main" character and an icon in his own way.

Shoot you're right - I was looking at Blue's rating for Proto instead of Axem who you actually agreed with. Updated on the doc (too late to edit the OP though).

I agree with Fodder Line for Midna and Mid Fodder on Cortex. I do think Cortex is a bit stronger than Gruntilda, but doesn't really have the support to move up a tier. Life is hard for ineffective game villains.

Wolverine I say is a Midcarder. Long gone are the days when fans would whine about Logan being featured heavily in all things Marvel. Hugh Jackman's long-lasting portrayal of Wolverine legitimized the character, and the character's long history in Marvel games only helps his case. When fans demand the presence of the X-Men in the MCU and Marvel vs Capcom, Wolverine is usually the first character brought up by name. I think he'll easily be a high midcarder if he makes it to the MCU.

Almost 4/5ths of the site know Power Rangers well enough to vote for their favorite and Green ran away with the poll

This site's userbase is the exact age range and demo to have intense nostalgia for MMPR.

I'd say Green would be a Low Midcarder based on the current resurgence and nostalgia baiting by Saban and Hasbro as well as an iconic design and genuine love from this specific age group on GameFAQs. Red might do OK too but Green would truly be the ceiling for franchise strength.

I saw that poll was posted a few topic days ago, but I honestly didn't know it was that recent. Guess I need to keep an eye on PoTD from now on.

I'll bump my vote on Tommy up to Fodder Line. I'm not entirely convinced he would do well against the popular and iconic characters that clear the fodder line.

2010 results suggest this tier, validated by almost beating Ike in 2013.

Looking at 2010 you might be right taking into account Proto was a 16 seed vs 1 seed Snake, who was a beast in that contest. But 2013 results look like fodder line to me. I don't buy that Ike was a Low Midcarder in that contest since he lost to Epona in R2.

That said it is possible Proto Man has boosted since then.

so Proto Man was apparently in previous contests as Protoman. Proto Man is correct according the the wiki.

Anyway Proto Man looked to be around the fodder line in CB9. I'm not sure whether he could have boosted, but I will stick with Fodder Line.

I honestly don't know about Tommy - does Gfaqs care about Power Rangers? I will say High Fodder for him, since the Green Ranger is iconic and I'm sure plenty of voters have nostalgia for MMPR from the 90s.

Mudkip is hard to place. He hasn't been in a contest since i herd u liek mudkipz was a relevant meme. I'm sure it will resurface here if Mudkip appears in a match, which is the main reason I say Fodder Line for it. I honestly think Mudkip is the least popular Hoenn starter without the meme, so I'm not confident in placing it above the fodder line.

I almost want to say mid for Bubsy, but Low Fodder is what I'll stick with. He might get memed a bit, but it would take a lot to make up for his lack of decent games.

Luke I say is a Midcarder. I don't think he absorbs a huge amount of hate from the failings of The Last Jedi, mostly because Rey and some other new characters are there to take the heat instead. Luke is Star Wars personified - the light side to Vader's dark side. Add a lightsaber to the pic and I think he will do fine.

Mid Fodder seems right for Rey. I don't think Gfaqs likes her very much, and will vote for a wide variety of game characters over the polarizing protagonist of modern SW.

Magikarp is a Low Midcarder based on how meme-able of a pokemon it is. The Magikarp salesman (plus the Magikarp he sells James in the anime) and the Splash attack are 2 examples. I can see some small meme rallies getting the karp over the fodder line.

Blaze is Mid Fodder. She is very much a middle ground Sonic character who will not get antivoted, but was introduced too recently to be hugely popular on Gfaqs. The Sonic Rush games are somewhat obscure, and a serious turn in Sonic 2006 will not help her. And the vast majority of her appearances since have been cameos, or obligatory playable roles in spinoffs.

Hollow Knight is technically nameless so he gets the advantage of having his own game as his name. His design is distinctive, and Hollow Knight seems to be a bit more popular on the site than the likes of A Hat in Time and Celeste. However Cuphead is far more popular and its protagonist looked like mid fodder at best in CBX. I will stick with Low Fodder on Hollow Knight, but I think it's close.
