Captain Marvel is a tough one. The Carol Danvers version of the character is the most well-known incarnation due to the MCU, but Carol is best known for being Ms Marvel. Captain Marvel/Carol has been in most Marvel games for the past 5 or so years and had her own movie, but I just don't think Gfaqs cares that much for either. And she had little more than a glorified cameo appearance in Endgame, which is the reason I will say Mid Fodder for her.

Mr. Freeze I will say Fodder Line for since I think a lot of factors are in his favor to do decently with votes. I'm pretty sure Batman The Animated Series is popular on the site, and Freeze was a standout character from the show thanks to his revamped tragic backstory. He has the meme-tastic quotes from Batman & Robin courtesy of Ahnold, and a very memorable appearance in Batman Arkham City.

The Hulk I will say Low Midcarder. He's obviously a comic icon and is well-liked in the MCU. But the fact that they gave up on making solo movies for him will hurt a bit. And I think he will struggle to beat many of the more popular game characters due to his perceived lack of character depth and bare-bones design. Plus the live-action series is too old to give him a boost.

Low Fodder for Tyler Durden. The Fight Club game wasn't good, and I don't see Tyler as an especially popular character. Even fans of the movie may or may not like Tyler enough to vote for him.

Son Gohan I will say Fodder Line for. Everyone knows him and he is decently well-liked, and he has a lot of iconic moments in the anime. He is in most of the games too. But he might fall if he gets a Great Saiyaman pic or something silly like that.

Slimer I don't even know where to start on. I guess Mid Fodder because he's basically the series mascot of Ghostbusters.

I will say Fodder Line for Sidon. He only makes a few notable appearances in the game, which to me is not enough for him to be a midcarder or low mid - regardless of the number of meme images he has. And I don't see him outperforming characters like Midna who have bigger roles in Zelda games.

Agree with High Fodder for Sigma and DK Jr. I think there is a lot of nostalgia still out there for MMX simply due to the sheer amount of games in the series.

BOTW may be a strong game, but strong enough to put a supporting character at midcarder? I don't think any game is that strong. I'm not sure who the standout is among the Champions, but I'd believe Urbosa being the strongest. I'll say Fodder Line for her.

I don't know how much Darkstalkers is really talked about on the site, but most people do remember it (thanks to Morrigan still appearing in Capcom games). This really comes down to TJF vs potential anti-furry sentiment.

And I think I misrepresented Felicia's current relevance following Darkstalkers Resurrection. She HAS appeared in many Capcom crossover games since then like Project X Zone 2. She just has less appearances than Morrigan.

I said High Fodder for Felicia, I was quoting ertyu to respond but I didn't agree with him.

Is there a large anti-furry sentiment on Gfaqs? If not I don't see how Felicia is lower than High Fodder. I don't think Felicia will get a -huge- amount of hate for being a furry. If not for her claws and feet she would pass as human, and she's literally naked in her pics. And she absolutely has TJF.

I say High Fodder for Felicia. While Morrigan has stayed relevant in Capcom releases to this day, Felicia hasn't appeared in much since Darkstalkers Resurrection. She's a popular character and has TJF for days, but her furry attributes will not sit well with some voters. It also hurts that she is heavily tied to the dormant Darkstalkers series - much more so than Morrigan.

Mid Fodder for Solidus - he's going to be significantly weaker than Liquid like Venom Snake is.

Low Fodder for Shion. She is not a well-liked character, but I think Gfaqs likes Xenosaga enough to keep her out of law fodder range.

Agree with Low Fodder for Max and Low Midcarder for Red XIII.

For Kain I will say he just barely makes Fodder Line. Cecil seems to be solidly fodder line based on his CBX performance, and I don't think Kain will be far behind since he is one of the more popular classic FF characters. He has been in 2 Dissidia games and a lot of spinoffs, and his design has aged well too.

Agree with Mid Fodder for Sniper Wolf. That seems to be the default for supporting MGS characters, and someone like Sniper Wolf who was only in one game definitely won't be higher than that. She is well-liked and has TJF, so she won't be lower either.

Agree with Low Midcarder for Magneto. He's an incredibly popular and iconic villain, with a ton of game appearances. However he hasn't had a real breakout appearance, discounting the Marvel vs Capcom games. He was always a very popular choice in the MvC games though, and has the Mag-freaking-neato meme too, which I'm sure will have an impact if he appeared in a contest.

Agree with Mid Fodder for Kylo Ren. I think he's in a similar position to Rey in that he'll get anti-votes due to general disdain towards modern Star Wars, and because he fails to live up to his grandpa Vader. I think he's a bit better liked than Rey though.

Mid Fodder for Lady. I don't think she has a consistent enough look or enough of a TJF boost to get to high fodder, and is less prominent than Trish who we already rated mid.

Low Fodder for Harry, barely. People do know him but don't actually care about his game. Pitfall and Harry got blown out in their contest appearances.

Fodder Line for Hero Eight. DQ8 is the most popular game in the series on Gfaqs, so I can see the main character of that game matching Erdrick in strength.

Nina I will say Low Fodder on, but I would consider mid as well. She has been in every BoF game and is nearly as important as Ryu, but lacks the name recognition.

Max Payne is Low Fodder. The man lost to Guybrush Threepwood, so there's really no other choice here.

Mid Fodder for Mr. Incredible. I don't think I'd call The Incredibles a movie with top tier popularity on Gfaqs, and the most relevant game appearance for any of the characters was in Disney Infinity. Even though Incredibles 2 was last year, I don't think a lot of voters will have seen it.

edit - you know what, I will move Mr. Incredible to High Fodder. Because a good portion of Gfaqs likely relates strongly to him nowadays.

My vote on Ethan will be High Fodder. Most of his votes will be nostalgia-based, and he does not have the advantage of his design appearing in the anime. And Red's single appearance in GSC is arguably more memorable than Ethan himself.

It is hard to place Sin based on it's match in 2005. Sin kept it very close with Robotnik despite having one of the worst pics in contest history. I think that Sin gets a lot of respect due to its plot role in FFX and what it represents as a villain, and will do better with a good pic. So I will say Fodder Line for Sin.

Mid Fodder for Mai Valentine. I'm sure a decent portion of Gfaqs had childhood crushes on Mai, and she absolutely will benefit from TJF. However I don't think anyone cares too much for her aside from that - she's only a side character from the Yugioh series and her appearances in games have amounted to glorified cameos.

I will just barely give Prinny High Fodder. He's the mascot of the series and players just seem to really like Prinnies. There's been a spinoff game starring Hero Prinny as well. That said the appeal of Prinny is totally lost on anyone who hasn't played a Disgaea game. The series is still kind of niche despite the countless remakes and remasters of the 5 main games.

a few things to add here -

I will change my vote on Sarah Connor to Low Fodder. She does get overshadowed a lot by the Terminators, and her iconic protagonist role in the first Terminator movie won't mean much to Gfaqs. Even in the Sarah Connor Chronicles tv show she got overshadowed by Cameron.

I disagree with Barret falling to low mid. It's possible that Cid is stronger than him, but the margin is very slim. Cid got 36% directly against Mega Man while Barret's result came in a 3 pack with Sonic and Dracula in 2013. In the year of the reddit invasion and Draven's win, it isn't surprising for Sonic to overperform against lesser known characters. Plus Dracula draws much of his strength from SOTN on the playstation, so I think he likely stole a significant number of votes from Barret.

It comes down to what the current state of FFVII is and how popular Barret is in comparison to others from the game. With the focus he is getting in ep 1 of the remake, I don't see why he'd decline right now.

Anyway I agree with Mid Fodder for Sarah and T-Rex and Midcarder for Barret. However I think that Barret could potentially rise to high mid if FFVIIR does well.
