Sounds like you were hoping for more than a straight up remake. The fact that you only lost interest after seeing the trailer means that you had a sense of wonder in not knowing what new content they would add. Turns out the new content (dungeon building) doesn't appeal to you. I'm excited that it gives a new generation a chance to play the best Zelda game.

As for topic point, I think it's just called having high unknown expectations.

There is the whole 30-year-old boomer meme as well
Yes

It exists because 30 year olds aren't Boomers but some act like it

The origin doesn't matter though. People misuse things to the point that it becomes true. That's how language evolves. You can go on any forum and see people claiming that boomer means 30+. Saying it's wrong is silly, because you'd have to tear the fabric of language evolution apart. Boomer IS used to mean 30+ very commonly online.

Keep in mind, I'm not arguing against the older definition of it. I'm saying that "boomer" has taken on contrasting definitions online, which makes conversations often confusing if there is no context (there is here, of course, so it's not an issue).

No it literally doesnt. Source of this ridiculous claim please.

I just said on the internet it does. Internet language is always evolving. I can't link to all of the famous internet dictionaries, because they often contain language too unsavory for gamefaqs, but on multiple of them, boomer's most highly voted definition refers to being 30. There is the whole 30-year-old boomer meme as well, and if you think meme language isn't a thing, that's fine. But it is about the most common thing you'll see in internet forum speak, so when anyone refers to boomer online, it's very likely they are talking about 30+ considering that is a very common thing the past 2 years online. Which is really all I meant. People obviously use both definitions of 'boomer', but it's very confusing. Adding "baby" to "boomer" typically clears it up though.

The internet has made "boomer" a confusing word. What boomer used to mean was "baby boomer" which seemed to mean people born in some range of 1940s-1960s. Now boomer literally means anyone over 30. When you compare that Millennials are defined as being born as far back as early 1980s, then by today's standards, you can be a boomer and millennial at the same time. Though I think the modern contrast to the modern boomer definition is "zoomer".

Just another way that language grows I suppose.

Looks cool for people who would like an aerobic game that is more gamey than other types of aerobic games of the genre. Still, for most people here, regular exercise will be more beneficial, and the game won't be entertaining enough to make up for doing an easy exercise.

half of these songs i have never heard on a radio ever - i know three doors down especially never made it outside of the US, and it's funny to me to think of Disturbed or Papa Roach at the same level.

It somewhat depends on the rock station I suppose. Some stations don't dabble in nearly as heavy of rock as others do. I know the rock stations that did play Disturbed, played it non-stop back then, and still play it a lot today.

I was thinking of Mr. Brightside coming into the topic. Oh well.

Of the poll, Bring Me to Life. The mainstream crossover appeal was immense with that song. I think How You Remind Me, It's My Life, and I Hate Everything About You might also be in contention here.

I had the poll narrowed down to about 20, and I actually had those 3 on the short list! There were a lot of great choices from those years. "Like a Stone" by Audioslave was my 11th place cut for the poll. These aren't my song preferences by the way. I just was trying to list things that I still hear played a lot today.
