| Romulox28 11/26/19 1:23:13 PM #13 | i wonder how much of this is due to rapidly changing trends in tech. these days, so much of IT now is reliant on managed service providers, The Cloud, etc. as a result you can run pretty lean, you don't need a big onsite IT team. just the guys to keep the lights on, someone to administrate the systems, and then for the rest you can hire consultants or partners as needed (esp since most software these days has an API so they can all connect nicely together). i havent been in the industry too long but imo it seems like the hot new IT roles of the future are going to be more focused on the process end, working with cross-functional teams etc. --- |
